Myra was the best option. She loved Steve unconditionally, she was smart, shared his interest, and was the finest woman on the whole show. Steve finally got Laura but it was forced and unrealistic
Myra was strikingly beautiful yet madly in love with Steve. The fact that Michelle Thomas made it look so convincing shows how good an actress she was. R.I.P.
Heartbreaking that she died of cancer right after the show ended. She was already suffering immensely while filming the last few episodes, but she kept on working anyway. A trooper to the end!
Michelle Thomas role unfortunately got cut down on the show as it went on late in its run, because her cancer was getting worse. Sadly, she refused treatment because she feared it would affect her chances of having children, and then she died just months after the show ended.
and Myra was equally unable to fully appreciate and accept what Steve WAS BECOMING in the last season. She mentioned that earlier in this episode when she pretended to break up with Steve in the hopes he'd revert to his pre-season 9 personality and give up on Laura forever. Even if Laura only started loving Steve after he made some changes to his personality, Myra was just as bad because she, like Laura, wanted Steve to change or not change as she saw fit. Steve could have found someone to love him truly unconditionally (not Myra OR Laura).
One thing sticking out to me right now is how much Laura is echoing Harriet right now. You can tell JoMarie had a lot of influence on Kellie's development as an actress. I love it.
@@equivalentexchangeisalie5726 little mannerisms. Her reaction to "strumpet," the way she asked Steve "what am I gonna do with you?" It feels like she put work into not only being Laura, but Harriet's daughter.
She THOUGHT that she wanted stefan. Stefan was part time, never sacrificed anything and wasn't really about long term relationship goals. Steve was always around and there for Laura in every way possible. He risked his own life many times always forgave Laura and came crawling back to her inspite of the very fact that he was easily bagging some of the baddest chicks in school and the neighborhood.
Not true. Laura knew the difference between Stefan and Steve. Stefan was merely the appearance she was used to seeing. However, Steve was always the constant source in Laura's life. He was there for her when she needed him and vice versa. They had a more balanced relationship with each other. Laura appreciates the mature man Steve was growing into. Granted Myra did accept him as himself, but it wasn't in the manner he thought she should have done so. To Steve and everyone else, she only fetishes him as a nerd king. Plus, Myra was known to be possessive, jealous, immature, overbearing and a commitment control freak. That's not a healthy relationship that Steve wants to be in and told her several times that he's not interested in her. Myra never got that idea and kept trying to pursue the matter.
Myra might have been deeply in love with Steve, but Steve was deeply in love with Laura. And Steve warned Myra from the start that if Laura ever showed the same love for him as he did for her, he would leave. "I'm gone baby."
You're right. As much as Myra was in love with Steve, she should have respected his feelings for Laura. As she was saying so many nice things about Laura and right in front of her, Steve wouldn't have liked that. She also should've realized being kind about Laura may have shown him what kind of girl he's missing out on.
It should have been when Myrtle finally gave up on Eddie. Yes you may want the person but there’s a reason that person is not in your life. What looks good to you may be TERRIBLE for you
Good God Myra was absolutely fine. Plus she loved urkel for who he was. Laura broke his heart like 600 times. A woman who loves you for who you are from the beginning rather one that takes 40 years to even get used to you is the better choice.
@@joshmg25 and? He didn't ask. They're both pretty. This comment was unnecessary. Normalize complementing somebody without having to bring someone else in like a competition. Unnecessary as hell. You have a vibe and it's not a good one.
I bought a dvd set at Walmart a few years back (before streaming became big). It only had the first 4 seasons, but it brought me back to watching it on nick@nite before they took it off the block in the late 2000s/early 2010s. I see it on Hulu now and the quality looks amazing. I've never seen the show look so good. But yeah, shows like these are timeless. It's still so funny and wholesome and the pop culture references are great.
The crazy thing is Myra was amazing during that phase of Steve’s life and she’s a good woman, but he clearly was growing up and out of that nerd phase. When you go from school nerd to a brilliant genius in society, you tend to change things up. The only dilemma here is that Laura accepted it and felt it was for the better, Myra didn’t. Myra didn’t wanna see him grow and that kind of attitude isn’t good for someone to be with
White originally had a more serious ending for Steve and Myra. When he came to Carl for help over his plans to break up with Myra, he tells Steve of a previous relationship he had with Georgia and what happened to him since then. Seeing what he went through with a previous flame trying to ruin his and Harriette's marriage, Steve realizes the truth in Maxine's warning to be honest with Myra. He should never leave things as they are and just be honest for once in his life. The scene at Amore's was supposed to be the ending where Steve explains to Myra why he loves Laura so much. While angered at first, she starts to understand that he's been growing up without her, and it would make no sense in staying in a relationship that no one would be happy in. Myra maturely accepts it's over, gives Steve back his science pin, and wishes him luck with Laura. Both of them remained friends, and White had planned for Stefan to go stalker mode for the remainder of season 9.
Yeah people sort of mistake that Steve’s change was for Laura when it wasn’t or that Laura only liked him for Stephan but that’s not true. Steve changed for himself and Laura not only noticed those changes but being with a seemingly perfect man I think helped her see Steve at his best. At best Myra is someone who loves Steve but she’s always sort of fetishized him and this episode showed that. If Steve wasn’t going to always be the same person on every level she didn’t want him but instead of accepting that she tries to manipulate him
He is, but White had planned for a more serious ending which would've had Myra and Steve remain friends. She would've found love with a reformed Cornelius and he attends police academy in Chicago. Stefan was planned to go back to his original traits and stalk Laura relentlessly
I didn't understand how Laura got so gorgeous. I went from not caring about the show in its early years to waiting a whole week with anticipation to see her on TGIF. Her beauty is underrated.
@@shihoblade As a kid, my type was Rudy Huxtable and Ashley Banks. Even my grade school girlfriends looked like them. But I couldn't take my eyes off of Laura Winslow when the time came, lol.
@@rmbhn Yes, indeed! And you know who else had an amazing glow up? Dee from What's Happening!! By the time she started guest starring on the 80's reboot (What's Happening Now!!) she'd gone Control Era Janet Jackson on us, lol. Too gorgeous! Even the actor who played Dwayne admits he was crushing, despite the age difference.
I think Laura started looking at Steve differently after that episode when she missed her bus to go to the cheerleading competition and Steve being a friend offered her a ride and she was being unappreciative and Steve had had it with her and finally stood his ground with her and told her what's what!
Another good one is the Christmas episode where Steve gets Laura her cherished doll from when she was younger (and Eddie had accidentally thrown away), even though he had to dig through the city dump for 16 hours. In one fan fiction story post Steve/Laura's wedding, Laura actually admitted that was when she realized Steve was the one for her, even though she didn't show it 100%.
@@mpatient133 Right, her first 2! And even in those, something was off about her. 😂 And no one ever brings up that Ted set her up with Steve based off her nerd fetish and him being super nerd.
Season 4's ending of Buds n' Buns showed Myra's negative qualities in being possessive, overbearing, jealous and immature. Season 5 was when she was at the height of her possessive nature. She stalked Steve relentlessly, invaded his privacy and demanded commitment from him. Myra took the whole thing to a new level by forcing having sex with him in his locker(season 5's ending credits of Like A Virgin) and spied on him by drawing him naked in his room. In turn, Urkel learned a hard lesson in respecting people's personal space. He realized how annoying he was to Laura and the Winslows in general and accepted he had a lot of growing up to do. When Steve agreed to go steady with Myra in season 6's Paradise Bluff, she calmed down considerably and became more friendly to others. In turn, he was less attached to the Winslows because she was keeping him distracted from his own family issues. Myra continued to mature and be patient with Urkel through seasons 7 and 8(with one exception being when she demanded marriage after college and he told her that he wasn't ready for it). It wasn't until he started experimenting with himself in season 9, that Myra returned to her old traits and became a stalker once more.
@@ladyfire44 We meet again, Ms. Ladyfire! I love your attention to detail, but I have to disagree. Early Myra was devoted and jealous, but in a cute way. She was "crazy," but lovably crazy. Just like everyone else in Family Matters. She was nothing like this. The writers slowly turned her into a psycho Barbie to explain why Steve would still pick Laura even though a perfect nerd girl was into him. I wish STEVE had matured into accepting himself for who he was instead of turning into "Stefan lite" in Season 9.
I'm too done already!🤣🤣🤣. The attempted but ILL fated polka seduction, "dissing" Laura, and the announcement of a plan to plot a scheme to get her man back! Had Myra made u--turn after that property damage...😭😭😭.
Myra was definitely an upgrade to the cast. Michelle was so bright and shiny, and her loss is still felt. So sad to lose such a bright talent so early. Only way to find a bright spot is she will forever be young and beautiful... RIP Michelle...
I agree. Steve really should have found someone else who wasn't Myra. The best ending for the show would be for Myra to grow up and realize Steve will never love her the same way, leave him, then have Steve realize the same thing about Laura and stop chasing her once and for all and pursue other romantic partners just like his cousin Myrtle did with respect to Eddie.
1:36 amazing acting moment. She took a page out of Reginald's book & pulled a "Laura Winslow being like her dad Carl moment" with that eye roll, head swivel, reiteration & pause before the storm 🤣😂👌🏾💯
So many people say Laura only liked Steve when he started changing. But I contend that if you watch this whole series and pay attention to the writing, you'll see that Laura has been in love with Steve from the beginning. The only person more important to her than Steve is her mother. And Laura was always attracted to the wrong guy, and it was only based on looks. Myra was attracted to Steve bc he was a nerd. Not because he was sensitive or caring b/c he wasn't really caring to Myra. But he had grown up and so did Laura. But for the nay sayers, look from this aspect: There is a divine element involved in Steve and Laura's lives. More than once Laura changed her mind about Steve based on a dream or even the intervention of a guardian angel. And the divine element knew that if He didn't give Steve true and real love for Laura that she would end up with the wrong man and God wouldn't get the glory from their union like He does from other marriages that He has put together.
Myra has to remember steve told her about his love for laura and he also told her of laura ever wanted him he will dump her fast so its not like she didn't know his intentions from the beginning
Still they should've handled the break up much better than what we got. They should've had Steve explained to Myra why he loves Laura with his heart and apologize to her for stringing her along. If that had happened sooner, she would've realized things weren't working out between them and they break up amicably. Steve and Myra could've remained friends during season 9 as they must deal with a mentally unstable Stefan trying to win Laura back. Myra and a reformed Cornelius could've gotten together. He goes to the same police academy as Eddie. While training as a cop, Cornelius and Myra prepare to confront Stefan for how he treated Laura and Steve. Upon entering his apartment in Chicago, they notice him sick and slowly fading away. After convincing Steve to help Stefan, he does diagnostic tests. Immediately noticing a chair fading away, he is able to trace it back to his cloning machine which doesn't create permanent clones. Stefan spends the last moments of his life apologizing to Steve and Laura for his behavior. He knows they belong together and he was only created to make it happen. Once Stefan fades away, his personality merges back with Steve. Thus, giving him a handsome appearance, deep voice and a mature personality while staying true to himself.
Remainder of Season 9(my alternate version) 14. The Science Pin: After breaking up with Myra amicably, Steve gives his science pin to Laura unaware that Stefan is spying on him with a spy cam attached to it and connected to an illegal surveillance gear in the Chicago apartment. Meanwhile, Myra is nervous about dating again and Maxine reassures her everything will be fine at the speed dating event in the Sizzle Club. When a dangerous thug shows up to hold everyone hostage, they are saved by a reformed Cornelius and Eddie. He and Myra are attracted to one another. Maxine reconciles with Waldo after explaining the post card mix-up. 15. Stefan Strikes Pt.1: Myra visits Stefan and warns him to stay away from Laura because she's dating Steve. He manages to break the two up by separating them with his lies. Myra is angered by this and comforts Steve like a good friend. Meanwhile, Cornelius enrolls at the police academy and becomes a model student in learning how to use good judgment in gun use. A jealous Eddie becomes trigger happy and concerns Carl. Cornelius teaches him a hard lesson by having him train with a gun against the cardboard criminals. He succeeds when Eddie is horrified in having shot a cardboard cutout of both Harriette and Laura. Carl explains why he had praised Cornelius so much because he learned how to use good judgment in gun control and which is very important. He didn't do it out of favoritism and Eddie let his jealousy over being criticized get the better of him. Cornelius mentions that on their future beat, they're going to come across innocent people who may get caught in the crosshairs of dangerous criminals and having a trigger finger in using a gun could take an innocent person's life. Eddie finally understands how wrong his behavior is and decides to use better judgment. Myra talks to Laura and finds out that Stefan set them up to be separated. She tells Laura her suspicions about him stalking her. 16. Stefan Strikes Pt.2: After getting the misunderstanding cleared up Steve and Laura tries to set up a date at Chez Josephine's again. Myra confronts Stefan at his apartment and tells him that unless he wants to go to jail with his surveillance gear, he will allow this date to happen. The next day, he confronts Laura for being attracted to Steve. Just before she can explain why, Stefan's casting director calls him on set because Vincenzo(the young photographer from Trading Places) had slipped on a piece of wood and can't do the photo shoot. He immediately leaves to deal with the issue. Myra comes in and helps Laura look around for evidence to nail Stefan with. Laura finds a strange remote and presses a button. The wall goes up and it reveals illegal surveillance gear. Myra compliments Laura for finding it and thus, proving her suspicions about his misdeeds. She takes pictures of the evidence and documents them. Laura notices a small spy cam on her science pin that Steve gave her and has Myra add it to the list before breaking the cam. She leaves as soon as she sees Stefan heading back to the apartment complex. Laura confronts him for the misdeeds and points out that as annoying as Steve was to her in their early lives, he was always considerate and caring of others. That he made changes to himself and matured. She is very disappointed in Stefan because of his behavior and reminds him they're over. Meanwhile, 3J is interested in Tanya a new classmate of his. However, she's interested in Richie who is dating Kelsey. She learns a hard lesson in being considerate of others after he makes her see how much she's hurt 3J. Steve and Laura have a great time at Chez Josephine's, while Stefan is stuck at Amore's with Myra. 17. Whose Man is it Anyway?: Eddie Central Episode with Myrtle and Greta. Carl and Harriette deal with his ex-girlfriend, Georgia(Judyann Elder). 18. Stefan Fades, pt.1: Myra and Cornelius comes to Stefan's apartment to confront him for his behavior. They soon notice the door is unlocked and goes inside. It's there, Myra and Cornelius finds the surveillance gear destroyed and Stefan is sick. When he explains not even the best doctors could help him, they realize that Steve maybe their best chance. Despite his reluctance, he agrees to do a diagnostic test on Stefan. Steve notices a table fading away and is able to trace it back to his old cloning machine. Meanwhile, Carl and Harriette go on a cruise. 19. Stefan Fades pt.2: Stefan is dealt with the devastating news: he is fading away permanently. With Carl and Harriette away from town and on a cruise, the rest of the Winslows, Steve, Myra and Cornelius spend their last moments in the Urkel home. Stefan apologizes to him and Laura for his behavior. He realized they are meant to be together. After fading away, Stefan's personality merges back with Steve, giving him a handsome appearance, deeper voice and a mature personality while staying true to himself. 20. Moving On: Four years later, Steve, Laura and Myra graduates from IOU. Steve gets a job at a state of an art laboratory. Laura gets a job at one of Chicago's finest law firms as a lawyer. Myra works as a romance-erotica writer. Cornelius and Eddie are working as cops. Maxine as a celebrity stylist and is engaged to Waldo whom is a celebrity chef running his own tap-dancing cooking show. 21. The Engagement: Steve and Laura attends Waldo and Maxine's wedding. During the tossing of the bouquet, Maxine tosses it over the single women and it's caught by Steve. He then proposes to Laura and she graciously accepts. Myra and Cornelius are enjoying themselves at the wedding. They agree to take it slow and enjoy themselves. Meanwhile, Eddie and Greta get into a serious fight and separate. Carl and Harriette tries to help them, but uncover their own issues. Dave McClure had humbled down and realizes how much Eddie loves Greta. He gives his blessings for them to be together. Dave helps Carl and Harriette reconcile after telling his story about his wife and Greta's mother, Tamara. 22. The Wedding: Three months later, Steve and Laura had put their plans for their wedding. Taking a lesson from Estelle and Fletcher, they decide on a small ceremony at the Winslow home under the stars. They are married at home with all their friends and families. Cornelius proposed to Myra during the reception and she accepts. Eddie and Greta are also engaged. This is the season 9 finale
Lol.. women don't care about that. All she saw was that she can wear him down and change his mind. I have had countless women try and do that to me. Women hear what they want to hear, no matter when you upfront and real with them
@@mystroxbeats802 Myra seriously underestimated how much his heart truly belonged to Laura. She always thought Laura was her competition, when, in reality, it was Steve's heart. Had Myra tried to build a bond with Steve instead of attacking his bond with Laura when he refused to go out with Myra, then maybe by the time Laura came around, Steve's heart would have moved on.
If Myra really loved Steve she would have trusted him instead of play this idiotic game to see what he would do.Relationships are about trust and communication. What she did was immature and selfish. Personally I think Steve made the right choice with Laura. It took Laura years but she finally saw Steve's potential. She herself matured in that sense. And she never lowered herself to this kind of deception with Steve. She's always been brutally honest from the get go. At this point she had finally moved past Steve's alter ego to see that the qualities that drew her to Stefan originated from Steve, and that counts for something and speaks a lot of how much she had evolved.
Exactly both matured so much but yet people don’t seem to realise the growth. Myra was holding Steve back. He was growing and maturing and that part of life. Exactly how Laura was changing and maturing. Steve and Laura was always meant to be. You can’t force love and Steve even said that a few times in the show but yet people don’t pay attention to the message the show is hinting at
I wished they handled the break up better by having Steve explain himself at Amore's in why he loves Laura. Let him apologize for stringing Myra along and wished he could've been that boyfriend for her. However, Steve couldn't as long as he loves Laura with his heart and it belongs to her. Myra could've realized that things weren't working out for them. As much as she loves Steve, she knows that trying to force him to stay in a relationship with her would've made them both miserable. Myra realizes that it's better that she let him go with Laura even if it hurts her. She maturely accepts it's over and she thanks Steve for telling her the truth. When he tries to apologize again, Myra reassures him that he did the right thing to tell her the truth about his feelings before they stayed in a relationship that neither are happy to be in. She gives the science pin back to Steve and wishes him luck on his relationship with Laura. He thanks Myra for understanding how he felt and would like to remain friends with her. She likes that idea and while sad, she leaves Amore's with her head held high. It could've kept Myra mature as she and Steve team up to deal with a mentally unstable Stefan trying to win back Laura's love.
I don't know, the fact that she broke up with him and he immediately jumped into Laura's arms proves his feelings for Myra weren't very strong to begin with. Women play games because they feel insecure. I am not condoning her actions because they were manipulative, but it looks like she had reason to be insecure.
@@JWF78 The only bad thing I could see with a Steve and Myra marriage would be Steve constantly having Myra stalk him and chase away any woman working with him on a project.
Yep, it turned out Myra wanted a guy she could easily manipulate, and Steve may have tolerated that when he was an uber nerd and didn't want to improve himself, but once he started to finally grow up, he could no longer tolerate that.
@ClydeJones5010 She was always like this. Remember in season 5 episode Nunsense when she stalked Steve at his place drawing him butt naked when he was asleep?
@@taahirahbrown606 but even when Steve and Myra were going steady, he could only imagine marrying Laura. There was that one episode in season 8 when Myra surprised Urkel by wearing a wedding dress and telling him, "We're getting married right after college," and than Steve told her no, and Myra got really mad and threw a barbecue grill through the Winslow's kitchen window. They were broken up for the duration of that episode, and why Steve decided to get back with Myra at the end of that episode, I have no idea.
Thomas was an amazing pick for this role. She nailed it! Even early on when they introduced her character, I loved seeing her with Jaleel. Truly sad that she passed away at only 30. It was also sort of odd because, even though the “destiny” in the show was to have Steve and Laura together - I really wouldn’t have minded seeing Myra end up with Steve. It took Laura forever to finally come around to Steve and in that time the only moments you see her interested was when Stefon came around. And if the suave personality and external appearance is all she was interested in - then she should have just ended up with the microwave version of Steve. I love the line from Steve in “Paradise Bluff” - “I could spend my whole life chasing a dream, or I can let a dream catch me”. And not that we shouldn’t discourage chasing our dreams but if you’re always going to look at what you can’t have or can’t make happen then you could miss what’s right there waiting for you. And it doesn’t even mean you’re settling it could mean that it may even be better than what you’re trying to chase. In either case - that’s not what happened in the show but I did love Myra and Steve as a couple.

Growing up in the 90s I was a regular watcher of the show! Loved it! As someone who hit high school in the late 90s I always thought that Mira looked better than Laura!
Myra was the best person on the show for Urkel, really cared for him, never mocked him for his nerdiness\akwardness and supported him. I was pissed when they forced a relationship between him and laura that I never bought.
Remember seeing this one weekend in like 2007 on ABC when me and my older brother were home alone and for some reason the "mama likes to Ooom Pah Pah" song has stuck with me for the last 14 years
Myra didn't love Steve. She was controlling and manipulative and was happy to be the side piece. Steve told her clear as day that he loves Laura and the second Laura shows interest in him he's leaving Myra and Myra happily accepted those terms. Myra blamed Laura for her issues when Laura did her best to stay out of their relationship, encouraged them to be together but Steve kept involving Laura in one way or another from what I remember. Myra should be mad at Steve for using her but then again she became obsessed and manipulative.
Yep. Some of these comments on here defending Myra are disturbing. I guess that's why there's so many toxic relationships today. If anything one could argue she did in fact love Steve but more like how people love their pets
At least Myra knew what she wanted, and that was ONLY steve! You never saw her with any other man, when her and steve first met to the time they broke up. How many boyfriends laura had and the relationships didn't last long?? Myra stayed loyal to him she never tried to change who he was. Laura rejected him from the time they were kids all the way up to their young adulthood. He loved her, but she never loved him back. Instead, she treated him like 💩 but it didn't matter he continued to simp because he couldn't help himself. And lest just be real. The only reason why Laura chose steve A clone, by the way. That steve created just to make her happy is because she still doesn't know what she wants. Not to forget that steve got a job working for NASA with all the perks and the success that's attached to it, that's why she chose him and not stefan not because after 9 years wanting nothing to do with him she had some epiphany she finally admits she really loves steve sorry, but I ain't buying it...
Myra may have gotten mixed signals during that Paradise Bluff episode where Steve agreed to go steady with her, after preceding it with, "I can spend my whole life chasing a dream, or I can let a dream catch me..." Nothing Steve said after that in that episode suggested he'd continue pursuing Laura, but, of course, the writers selectively ignored that development so they could fall back on the "Steve chases Laura" formula (and keep Stefan too of course; had Paradise Bluff been the last episode Steve thought about Laura as more than a friend, he most likely would have destroyed his transformation chamber after that, and he had not yet cloned himself).
I'm surprised no one's mentioned that Myra sued him for alienation of affection (whatever that means) she clearly went off the deep end and went more insane.
Alienation of affection is between a husband and wife, when the husband or the wife withdraws themselves from meeting the others needs, physically, emotionally, momentarily or sexually within the marriage.
No one ever mentions how just plain mean Laura was to him both their entire childhood and after they get together after this either. This show makes no sense when the details are scrutinized, you either accept it or it boggles the mind lol
R.I.P to Tom Miller, co-executive producer of Full House, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Step By Step and Michelle Thomas (Myra Monkhouse) +Kevin Haynes
Aside from Myra being a creepy stalker, their relationship was super unhealthy. Steve was only with her because Laura always rejected him. He always loved Laura and said as much but Myra always wanted Steve to herself. In reality Steve didn’t really love her, he only loved that Myra loved him and he was frequently always trying to get with Laura either as Stefan Urquelle or just Steve. That wasn’t fair to Myra, but she was just too crazy to realize how badly she was being treated. Laura always rejected Steve and wanted him to change into Stefan, but over time came to love who he became instead of trying to control him like Myra kept trying to do.
I saw this episode when I was 12 and even then I was creeped the FUCK out by Myra’s twitch at the end thinking ohhhhhhhhhhh this isn’t over......be afraid! Very very veryyyyyyyyyy afraid
So the girl who actually liked Steve for who he was didn't deserve him. But the ungrateful, hurtful one did. The one who tried to change him did. The one who constantly treated him like trash
So was laura remember everytime someone else like steve she would get jealous. Steve was also obsessive he stalked the living crap out of laura throughout the show so its not ok when myra does it to steve but its ok when steve does it to laura? Yea sure
Steve would never have pushed himself this far to invade Laura’s privacy or ignore boundaries and was more open, honest showed more respect while taking things one step at a time. For Myra was Steve’s enact Opposite who is beautiful more pushy, manipulative, bossy and less perceptive for boundaries.

One thing sticking out to me right now is how much Laura is echoing Harriet right now. You can tell JoMarie had a lot of influence on Kellie's development as an actress. I love it.
How so?
@@equivalentexchangeisalie5726 little mannerisms. Her reaction to "strumpet," the way she asked Steve "what am I gonna do with you?" It feels like she put work into not only being Laura, but Harriet's daughter.

Did we watch the same show? Myra tried to manipulate Steve into being who she wanted him to be. That's not caring as is.
Laura did not deserve Steve, at all! She wanted Stefon, not Steve.
It's funny because at the end of the TV show she ends up being with Steve in a relationship.

"I'm gone baby."
You're right. As much as Myra was in love with Steve, she should have respected his feelings for Laura. As she was saying so many nice things about Laura and right in front of her, Steve wouldn't have liked that. I grew up in the 90’s and actually purchased all the seasons of family matters and we now watch them with our own kids and they love it
Everybody hates Chris entire show all seasons on DVD for $100 on Amazon. Would buy it if it was cheaper.
That's a good idea

I think Laura started looking at Steve differently after that episode when she missed her bus to go to the cheerleading competition and Steve being a friend offered her a ride and she was being unappreciative and Steve had had it with her and finally stood his ground with her and told her what's what!
That was the start of it. I agree.
Ooooo I remember that 😃
“No! You sleep in the tub!” - classic
First and foremost, Steve will always be a great friend towards laura. Being in love with her was the bonus.

@@mpatient133 Right, her first 2! And even in those, something was off about her. 😂
And no one ever brings up that Ted set her up with Steve based off her nerd fetish and him being super nerd.

What you said that was so 100 percent true

Remainder of Season 9(my alternate version)
It’s crazy how successful this show was and other shows like it at the time yet so much of these casts just disappeared after it ended.

Remember seeing this one weekend in like 2007 on ABC when me and my older brother were home alone and for some reason the "mama likes to Ooom Pah Pah" song has stuck with me for the last 14 years
i never understood Steve's obsession over Laura i always thought Myra was a good fit for him rightly so
Myra didn't love Steve.
That's how I remembered it too.
Yep. Some of these comments on here defending Myra are disturbing. I guess that's why there's so many toxic relationships today. If anything one could argue she did in fact love Steve but more like how people love their pets
Steve gave Myra a chance in Season 5-8 but because Myra didn't want Steve growing up, that's what ruined their chance of staying together.
Steve urlkel is one of the 10 greatest characters in all of sitcom television
and to think, he was only supposed to be in one scene.
When she started singing tho 😂❤
Love the part where people ignore steve told myra the second laura reciprocated feelings back he is gone. Myra knew from day 1
Myra may have gotten mixed signals during that Paradise Bluff episode where Steve agreed to go steady with her, after preceding it with, "I can spend my whole life chasing a dream, or I can let a dream catch me..." Nothing Steve said after that in that episode suggested he'd continue pursuing Laura, but, of course, the writers selectively ignored that development so they could fall back on the "Steve chases Laura" formula (and keep Stefan too of course; had Paradise Bluff been the last episode Steve thought about Laura as more than a friend, he most likely would have destroyed his transformation chamber after that, and he had not yet cloned himself).
@@preciousblackstone5051 the guy Laura dated hated Steve also he knew his cousin was unstable.
That was pretty funny!
@@kelvinthompson1660 that guy set Steve up
No one ever mentions how just plain mean Laura was to him both their entire childhood and after they get together after this either. This show makes no sense when the details are scrutinized, you either accept it or it boggles the mind lol
R.I.P to Tom Miller, co-executive producer of Full House, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Step By Step and Michelle Thomas (Myra Monkhouse)
+Kevin Haynes
Tom Miller was also a producer of Happy Days.
Myra said come on miss Red 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Myra was definitely the better choice because she loved Steve from the start for him being him
Aside from Myra being a creepy stalker, their relationship was super unhealthy.
Steve grew up in the last season of the show. Less nerdy , more mature. This is the version was looking for.
I saw this episode when I was 12 and even then I was creeped the FUCK out by Myra’s twitch at the end thinking ohhhhhhhhhhh this isn’t over......be afraid! Very very veryyyyyyyyyy afraid
Myra was right for Steve. RIP Michelle Thomas.
Myra loved and cared about him
Despite who Steve Was He should have stayed with her.
RIP Michelle You are missed
Myra was so pretty. Her name was Michelle Thomas, she passed away in 1998 of stomach cancer at the age of 30. RIP.
I still remember the news report about Michelle's passing....it was so sad
Myra u were beautiful, but Steve belongs with Laura
So the girl who actually liked Steve for who he was didn't deserve him.
But the ungrateful, hurtful one did. The one who tried to change him did. The one who constantly treated him like trash
@@RJWM1999 Yeah but Myra was really obsessive and manipulative so 🤷🏽♀️
So was laura remember everytime someone else like steve she would get jealous. Steve was also obsessive he stalked the living crap out of laura throughout the show so its not ok when myra does it to steve but its ok when steve does it to laura? Yea sure
Well duh
RIP Michelle (Myra) Thomas.
Damn Laura was Fine... And Myra was Beautiful
When she slammed the door and everything fell I said, “Oh shit, WTF? She actually a witch?!”
Worst thing he ever done he should have stayed with Myra 🙄
Myra was more attractive than Laura...she was a genius and adored Steve for himself...
Priceless memories of my childhood younger years.....😇😇🙏🙏✊️✊️😎👉
1:00 Such a seductive badass woman, I love it
Soon as I saw the thumbnail AND the title I didn't even want to give this video a view because this made me THAT ANGRY at STEVEN Q. URKEL. I really only came to see the comments and see what some actual sane and smart people have to say about this because obviously people that think otherwise and the writers of the show were on opiates. I obviously know Michelle was sick but I just wish EVERYTHING was different and I feel like they could've made it happen in a way and I'm never losing hope on that. #TEAMMYRA

WE LOVE YOU ❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌🫶🫶🫶😍😍😍😘😘😘🥰🥰🥰
Myra is beautiful, but are we going to ignore that Laura is also very beautiful
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Laura: "Girl, you really scare me"😂💀
I diden eaven know she died in 1998 😔😢😢😢 and she had only 30 years! Damn i'm so sad now! May she rest in peace! Love you Michelle!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm surprised Myra didn't take off her coat.
Steve was so sweet He loved this family with all his heart. loved him.
The Winslows are his family. Steve loved every family member.
Steve was a super simp but his patience broke Laura down. But Steve changed everything about himself just to get Laura to like him.
I wish I have Steve's lifestyle juggling with 2 women. That pimpin'
that would be my dream as well lol
We all need females like Myra
Steve is a lucky man.He got two fine women who won't him.
He sure was. I wish I could be like that someday.
Kind of like Dante Hicks in the Clerks movies.
Want
Don't forget that Theo on The Cosby Show was a lucky man too since Myra was also Theo's girlfriend.
And by the way Jason Kenner, in your comment you miss used the word won't. In your particular sentence, the proper term to use is 'wanted'.
