The actor who played Foreman is Oliver Hardy. This film was taken 5 years before he became partner with Stan Laurel as the greatest comedy duo.

Whew! Terrific film but exhausting. I can see where animators of the 1930's on got their inspiration.

Vitagraph was a forerunner of Warner Brothers. Unfortunately, Semon would not survive the advent of sound.

Silent comics were the best. Larry had a good career. The studios should have done more for Larry. He was a great comedian

Thanks for sharing this. Could you tell me what version of Dardanella you used for the opening music? Thanks!

Never mind - it's Biese's Novelty Orchestra on Aeolian Vocalion 14002 from November, 1919. I just found a copy of it in my collection! I should have known. :) Thanks, anyway!

Larry Semon wasn't the funniest silent film comic but knew what audiences wanted, unfortunately like Harry Langdon they didn't work well with others who knew how to write comedy. They weren't natural like Chaplin or Keaton.
