Thank you for the comment J. My understanding is that lithium ion batteries can store more energy than lithium polymer batteries, and are prone to degradation as they age. I hope this helps.

How to preserve a 18650 for a long time without using it? It`s enough to charge it once every 6 months, and store it in dry and room temperature? Thank you !!

When reusing the Lithium cells from ( thousands ! ) of discarded disposable vapes , NEVER charge more than 4.2 volts per cell , and if using multiple high voltage stacks without proper battery management electronics , the only safe option is to charge each cell individually , this takes AGES , but is quite safe ( tried - n - tested ) ...... DAVE™🛑
