- I felt Oebe was ready to meet the herd today so he headed out to our 14 acre winter turnout field.
Watch for the herd dynamics, especially with Hidde who's 'top dog' out there and see how he responds.
Loving catching up with older RUclips videos
Oebe has a wonderful Friesian trot. He is so kind and gentle although he does look out for himself. I love him!! Thank you!!🌈
I totally agree!
A fabulous 'golden hour herd dynamics' video, thanks.
Its just heaven on earth, beautiful. I'm so relieved, as you must be, to see little Obie is fine. He's got the confidence & sense to keep himself out of trouble with the girls. Perfect !
He is a gent that can take care of himself. Cant wait for the ice to thaw now so he can get back out with the herd and find his place x
Rockin it Obe lad!!! 💜💜💜💜💜
It's always exciting when a new horse joins the herd. I hope Lovely Oebe makes good friends 💙
Its going to take a while for him to find his place in the herd - he's been used to being on his own and not in a herd so its a learning curve for him. I usually expect it to take about 6 months for them to find their feet. Winter isnt the ideal time for him to be out 24/7 with them but hopefully it will be easier for him come springtime
I love watching the herd dynamics.
Its mesmerising isnt it!!
Me too 💙
Oebe has a good attitude! What beautiful footage of the farm and horses :)!!
He does doesn't he! So glad you enjoyed the footage
The horses in their various colored jackets look like someone has spilled a bag of Skittles candy...🤗 The view of your acreage is stunning...feels so Zen like. The girls were sure checking out Oebe...I think they will like him as an addition to the herd. Glad to see there's not a lot of fussing going on...welcome Oebe to your new friends. 🤗
I love your description of them being like a bag of Skittles!! When they were all in the purple rugs a few years ago they were labelled the 'Cadbury crew!' Can't wait for the thaw to come so we can get him back out with the herd to find his place
It's always very intense doing introductions
It is and takes time for them to work out the dynamics
Isn't it amazing how, even though it's a black horse dressed how they're all dressed, they instantly recognise him as a newcomer. Glad he's already shown them that he's not a pushover.
They do! Although sometimes if none of them have rugs on and one joins them in a rug, sometimes they can mistake them for someone new. He's certainly not a pushover :-)
