Yes i can definitely hear the Chameleons here. Love Drab Majesty and if you check out the new stuff they just keep getting better . Especially as he starts to bring in more musicians.
@@tripzville7569 Could you imagine DeB, Mona, Mark, Reg, Dave and John (RIP you wonderful Figure in the Sky) hanging out? The Demonstration is- What Does Anything Mean, Basically..."I think the meaning of life is to Evolve" as Mark stated in an interview during a Chameleons Vox tour. It isn't called the "Burgess Shale" by coincidence
This is the most viewed live performance video in my 30 years of being a music nerd. The beginning is outta this world. Dreamlike, ethereal, Nostalgic... 10/10
he's really skilled at playing and singing at the same time i think, cause some parts really seem hard to play accurately while singing, especially with the clean guitar sound where you can hear every mistake
This performance is so special. I like their new look but anytime he wants to bring back that dramatic interpretive parasol twirling I'm down for that.

In case anyone is curious, the korean writing in the beginning (살인 의 위엄) means something like "Murder's Dignity" although it's not a phrase that shows up on any korean search engines
Yep! I saw Marriages last LA show in August 2015 (2nd to last show in general) because I was a fan of Drab Majesty since early 2015... maybe late 2014. Can't recall if it was Non Plus Ultra or Complex. Those were the days. So many amazing bands were coming out of LA or coming to LA from New York from the late aughts until around 2017/2018. The scene really blew up and a lot of bands came up. It was a good time because I saw so many incredible bands for like $7-$10, sometimes free!
HOLY SHIT!!! I love how those early versions of Kissing the Ground and Behind the Wall sound. The final versions are better of course, but they're so different they almost feel like different songs.
I really miss this drab aesthetic and wish they would bring it back. More black makeup/robes and less white suits/pilgrim wigs please. Aside from that, this is a great performance.
Stumbled into this band through VR Sex (their side project) and thanks to the New Division related videos. GOD BLESS THEM. I am proud to have discovered such a beautiful band. David Sylvian aesthetics with The Chameleons UK guitars and melancholy of "strange times" record and some Xymox beats and synths. HOLY shit! They are becoming one of my favourite bands .the sound is pretty british and they come from Cali. They and Julien-k bring 80s music dignity back in our days. Shiny band
Cocteau Twins guitar sound and the cure spirit and voice...... RonnyM from Clan of Xymox 4AD 80´ Old school yes.... yes ....my best song is Cold Souls ...great song
Where is the rest of the band, for this gig? That this is ONLY the one dude- HOLY CRAP- it's brilliant!!! The dude already rules, but that he can pull off a gig with nothing more than the music via which to sing/play to- yeah, this guy is basically GOD.
I was lucky enough to see them at the beginning of 2020 before everything got shut down. This video is excellent but can't possibly capture the volume and power of Drab Majesty's live performances. The show I was at was trance-inducing.
its a two piece band now! saw them last month at the same venue and the performance was hypnotizing. The cold icy synths and brooding guitars can easily be the soundtrack to murdering my third husband in an abandoned park in downtown Berlin during the dead of winter
Yeah! He plays DADABD or DADABE depending on the song. For example for 39 by design, he plays DADABE but for songs like Unknown to the I or Kissing The Ground he plays DADABD. It takes me so long to figure this thing out, but I'm 100% sure.
he does this annoying thing where he cuts the last notes short on every line, he should carry the last note over a bit longer so it doesn't sound so abrupt
I dont think anyone realizes the amount of balls it takes to get up there alone.
As a musician, I fully understand. Then it;s another thing to be able to get up there and let go of your self, and be the music, if that makes sense
I saw this tour and Deb was not alone in the show... There were two statues on stage! The set was absolutely mesmerizing. Deb is very talented. 🤩
I dont think anyone realizes the amount of balls it takes to get up there alone and then sound this good...
👍
Yeeeeeeeup.
I'm an old-school 80s kid. Big fan of Chameleons and the Cure. This stuff is awesome. Torch carried.
Yes i can definitely hear the Chameleons here. Love Drab Majesty and if you check out the new stuff they just keep getting better . Especially as he starts to bring in more musicians.

@29:55 is an early version of Kissing The Ground, I believe. Thanks for this upload, awesome quality! :)
Ooo, Cold Souls months before the new album. That was a treat.
@BrendanMacWade yep! It was posted online in live shows before it was released. It was pretty cool and such a good song!
I fucking love this guy and his work!
Just found Drab Majesty the other night and can say I am super glad I found these songs.
Same Here!
Also look up the Vr Sex-album "human traffic jam" from 2019.
Another Deb Demure-project👌🏼

Daniel G did you comment about Zachary k Hubbard on this video?
He's the drummer for Marriages. Talented guy.
Omg i didn't knew that, lately i've been listening to Emma Ruth Rundle a lot and discovered Marriages, wonderful music💟🥀

This is by far the best live version of Behind the wall he's ever done. I wish he'd see this comment and go back to his roots...
Great job!
HOLY SHIT!!!
I love how those early versions of Kissing the Ground and Behind the Wall sound. The final versions are better of course, but they're so different they almost feel like different songs.
So impressed with solo performances like this. So much to do while performing solo. Drab Majesty is rad! I'd open up for Drab any night!
The best band I've heard since the first time I fell in love with the Sisters and Depeche Mode. Absolutely wonderful.
That synth in the beginning sends shivers down my spine
Damn, what a talent. Hope to hear much more in the near future.
I really miss this drab aesthetic and wish they would bring it back. More black makeup/robes and less white suits/pilgrim wigs please. Aside from that, this is a great performance.
Some here 👍
I agree. It’s reminding me of what the neighborhood did.
YOU WANNA KILL ME IN THE LOBBYYY
Lone Wanderer you wanna keep me in the foyer...
LMFAO 😂🤣
Too much. The intelligence of this man is amazing. Thee introduction to the black hole that you are now entering.. his mind.
420 blaze that shit bro !

Descubrí esta banda hace dos meses y estoy muy felíz y más que satisfecha,la verdad son unos genios ,estoy enamorada de Andrew❤😅
Cocteau Twins guitar sound and the cure spirit and voice...... RonnyM from Clan of Xymox
4AD 80´ Old school yes.... yes ....my best song is Cold Souls ...great song
Christoph A. FUCKK YEAHH 🤣🥰
Very impressive. They've a typical 4AD sound and you can clearly hear the Cocteau Twins/Clan of Xymox influence.
What's a 4AD Sound?
J. T Bands on the 4AD record label in the 80s like as he mentioned Clan Of Xymox.
@@MannyMarr 👍👍👍
Absolutely brilliant- definite SoM / killing joke influence
Love them to come to U.K.
Wait I thought there were two people in Drab Majesty. Is this before Mona D came onboard?
omg that intro to Unknown to the I
Where is the rest of the band, for this gig? That this is ONLY the one dude- HOLY CRAP- it's brilliant!!! The dude already rules, but that he can pull off a gig with nothing more than the music via which to sing/play to- yeah, this guy is basically GOD.
Thank you for posting this.....
I will never forget seeing these guys play live
Красивая музыка для души.
полностью согласен!
Igual aquí 👍
My music hero.
Genius music. How the hell does he make such music on stage alone?
Laptop. Ableton probably. Or iPod.
Love it! Just up my alley 😍
You're up my alley! Where are you from?
The Foyer absolutely rips
I was lucky enough to see them at the beginning of 2020 before everything got shut down. This video is excellent but can't possibly capture the volume and power of Drab Majesty's live performances. The show I was at was trance-inducing.
I agree.Saw them twice here in Seattle. They are amazing live.
COLD SOULS 🥶💙💙🖤🖤🧡🧡
I like the intro beat.
--- Where is Mona D.? I guess he wasn't in the band at this point?
NEW ERAA OF 80’s FUCKEN IN LOVE 🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
The best performance
excellent quality upload! much thx!
Great to see how Deb has evolved. This is a snapshot of a great band in an early stage.
Wait, so when did he add the second guy?
google is your friend
Needs a full band. It would be so amazing to see and hear
its a two piece band now! saw them last month at the same venue and the performance was hypnotizing.
The cold icy synths and brooding guitars can easily be the soundtrack to murdering my third husband in an abandoned park in downtown Berlin during the dead of winter
I would be their full-time drummer any day!!!
The sampler is gonna be their drummer forever.
I surely hope they never go full band, samplers are the way to go
I'll be a full time bassist for this band
Wow. So much awesome!
Really good!
Wheres mona D??
Is the instrumental at the beginning a song or just a live intro to hollow?
love you soo much. see you in dresden
Perfect
Vendrá en Guadalajara en mayo, creo que si lo veré ya que no pude ver a depeche mode este año ❤️❤️❤️
beautiful !! great !
Freakin' perfect! Tks a lot!
Love 💙💙💙💙
Doktor Avalanche on the drums...Love It!!!
Wrong band.
Michael Smith, he's talking about the sequencer
With the same name as the drum machine The Sisters Used. Interesting. Probably a coincidence.
А что в начале играет???это разогрев у них или интро с альбома
I love this band.. come to México this year AND i Will stay there .
Needs a full band...but good stuff!
Peak majesty imo. I miss this gritty sound and aesthetic, no shade.
Awesome!
💜💜💜
Awesome.

nobody fucks with drab majesty like i do
what a fuckin rockstar
他会在什么国家演出,相信现场很有感染力。
Rad !!!
any idea what his tuning is
Yeah! He plays DADABD or DADABE depending on the song. For example for 39 by design, he plays DADABE but for songs like Unknown to the I or Kissing The Ground he plays DADABD.
It takes me so long to figure this thing out, but I'm 100% sure.
Woah thank you so much!!
Also check my cover of Kissing the ground if you want!!!
Raised G? How and why on earth?! Do you know if he ever uses DADF#AE? Or other tunings?
@@ynzsbstn hey man, thanks for the info... Do you know also what tuning is for The Foyer?

Nick Strauser DADGCD I think

Кокаиновая музыка. Психоделика Дарквэйва😮
What a lame crowd.... they didn't know they were blessed with such a presence.. forgive them.
only bad thing about this artist is he plays a boring guitar... the strat i mean.
Awesome...
