Everything she said is true. Make sure that you are at a predominantly Asian Grocery not a multicultural store. Big difference, at least in my area. Ask the people shopping there if they go there all the time, or if they go to another shop for better ingredients. Most will let you know the raw truth about the shops in whatever city. From my experience, anyway. Hope this helps someone, as i was blown away by the selection and the quality of the goods on sale. Also couldn’t believe that they could squeeze that many products into that kind of space……i love going there!

I go to a small mom and pop Korean grocery store sometimes here in Buffalo. I got to go to H Mart a few times when it had just opened in Seattle and it was super impressive, upbeat, trendy, but the experience at the small store here is really as amazing in its own way. I love how this store one of the first things you see in the entrance are seeds for planting in your own garden.
All of this is true. I’m an American that primarily shops at Kroger, but everytime I go to Hmart, I’m always wowed by the price and quality of their fruits and veggies! It’s just a much further drive for me.

My only issue with the bean sprouts is they are now only available in prepackaged plastic bags. They definitely have an off taste compared to when they were sold in bulk, in the large brown bags
I love the town we recently moved too but the closest Korean grocery is almost 30 minutes away. Before we moved we could walk to H-Mart. So we roll up to our closest store about once a month and stock up!
I MISS Hmart here in Germany, but we LITERALLY chose the space we moved to based on the fact That we had a korean supermarket here (much smaller: Handok Mart near FFm)

I drop a mint at my local H Mart. So glad to have one here. If you do hot pot, shabu or jeongol regularly like I do, then H Mart is your spot. Can’t beat price or quality. Still haven’t found a wife there yet.

Just fyi for those who have Sulfur Allergies! (Like Myself - I’m highly allergic) However, the Fresh Mushrooms+Veggies+Fruit are all Fabulous!😊👍

I can't find gochugaru at my Asian store. It doesn't help that I can't read any Asian languages. My store is called 99Ranch Market. They don't sell rice cakes either, just the rice ovalettes. I live making tteokbokki so it makes me sad. Ovalettes are better than nothing.

I love Asian supermarkets anyway I love being in there because you know you can find anything and the fruit is very very good I have to say and not only that but they have things that you may not have seen before but they are so good the Filipinos the Filipino section is fantastic they are the ones that have the fresh fish that are alive and you just tell him what you want and they will fix that fish up for you ready to go home and the chicken breast you can get used to be able to get like whole chicken breast for like a dollar fifty nine a pound I mean it's unreal and it's all very very good it's no hormones no antibiotics and the eggs a lot of the eggs I don't know if the craze with hormones are not on the eggs but the eggs brown eggs that you can get fantastic and all all the Asian stuff just take your time I usually I'm the only white girl in there and it's humongous is King Ranch in West Covina California and I'm usually the only white girl in there whenever I go but they are so very nice to me and I usually get a whole lot of free stuff because they will give you stuff to try and you can take home and try and it's really really a great experience I've never ever had a bad experience at all but I can't say enough about them they're awesome so if you've never been in one just take two to three hours really and go in there the first time and just look and see what they've got and what you want to eat and they're very good about packaging if you are single or if there's just two of you they'll packaged stuff for you for that okay so you don't envy you can also buy for a big family too so it's either or they're very accommodating I have to say and I always bought a lot of my dishes from them so if you like you do different dishes oh my gosh she loved it
Could you please do a video on the like season/marinates crebs and squid that's close to the kimchi section? I one time bought the squid and I came to the conclusion I'm supposed to it raw but I didn't know. I was also too embarrassed to ask for help so I took it home and cooked it lol. I know raw creb is a thing but I'm a big dummy and I don't want to get sick because I have one brain cell.
