Nice technique! I would suggest that if you are going to use this on a garment, you're probably better off pintucking the fabric first, then cutting it out like a solid piece of fabric, rather than trying to figure out how much extra to build into your pattern piece.

Beautiful! Thanks you for making pintucks accessible! They seem so intimidating! But you made it look so simple.❤

life-saver. I'm clinging on trying to educate myself about sewing, while I throw the rest of my new unfinished lab together... I never breathed on a sewing machine before; life is crammed, and good jams like this help. thanks.

@SewAnastasia thanks, and I believe I read that it is also located in Chicago if memory serves. At the moment I am juggling learning woodworking, as well as the tailoring, for the furniture and tools related that I DIY am making.. like tailor's board, and also a hip-height fashion pinning and cutting worktable. I bought my sewing machine like three months ago, and have not even threaded it yet, because of the research and development of the woodworking tools (and life in between all of that). I have not even attended the New Owner free course at the local craft store. At some point I should be able to afford a conventional lesson online or per the course offering. I am patching very much... I do refer to your videos by word of mouth as well as on my livestreams. I talked to this one lady and told her I just bought a sewing machine, and she looked me right in the eyes and said, "I want to sew!" Then I told her your channel name.

But Anna what if we want to add pintucks to a pattern? How much should we have to accommodate to the pattern in terms of measurements?

Pintuck the fabric first, then cut it out.

You can slash & spread the amount you want for each pin tuck.

Perfect timing! I have a pattern with pintucks in the bodice that is next on my list to stitch up.

Oh this was awesome. I was just thinking about a blouse/shirt I had with a pintuk bib on the front. I absolutely loved that shirt. Now I can make myself an updated version. All your videos are so useful.

@SewAnastasia can pintucks be done horizontally on a garment? Or are they strictly vertical? Thank you for sharing!
