Great job with this M41 Walker, this will be my next armor kit with motorized action as well.👍

Awesome video man, loads of great info, thanks. The box art showing the rear of the tank with the turret facing backwards is bizarre. Maybe the original artist was using a reference photo and just didn't realize that he was looking at the back of the tank.

Tamiya used to use a "MM" code for the non-motorized armor kits, & a "MT" code for the motorized armor kits. The codes were a prefix of the kit #, & located on the model box cover ends & top (I believe). The "MM" code designated Tamiya's military miniatures model line, & the "MT" code designated the motorized tank models. I used to have a few of the Tamiya remote control tanks (years ago), but I don't recall the designation code for the remote control tank models. MRC used to be the importer for Tamiya's models (years ago), & the MRC imported kits had a black tag on the ends of the box top. The tag had the "MM" & "MT" codes (as prefix of the kit #) printed in white letters, which was easy to see, & what I looked for when searching for a particular Tamiya motorized tank model (which I much preferred, at that time) in a hobby shop.

yes, all that is true. I mention it in the Panther A video. There are also some earlier examples of the tamiya motorized M41 where the track was a different simpler type molding and the side grab handles were molded on

@@oddball759mm I've considered buying Tamiya's M-41 kit several times; it's been so economically priced at Hobby Lobby a few times in the past, it was hard not to buy the kit, but I have many model kits that I would like to make progress on, but haven't yet. I'll probably sell some of my vintage kits. I did purchasea Tamiya M-26 Dragon Wagon (tractor only) for about $26.00 from Hobby Lobby a few years ago, which was a great price for that model, & I wanted the M-26 model much more than the M-41 model.

The M41 Walker Bulldog tanks can also be seen in Vietnam War that you can see 1987 film called "Full Metal Jacket".

yes but in reality most if not all of the M41s that were used were done by ARVN

This comment was based on a book I saw once about his Army days. They showed a picture of an M41, so I could be wrong. I must now investigate further.

@@MJM804 there are a few pics of him on M48s like this one t1.daumcdn.net/cfile/blog/0279494751CBD17F2B, If anything he probably started off on the M41 then at some point switched to M48. As a side note an M48 was also prominent in the elvis movie "GI Blues"

@@oddball759mm Thanks, I stand corrected. I just learned he was part of a "medium" tank unit, which would have been 48's.
