  • As the Prop Turns is back for its 9th installment. This episode centers around departures and arrivals. It seems like a simple subject, but there are many steps involved when it comes to leaving the dock, or leaving your boat after cruising. Our Customer Service Manager Kenny Marrs walks through the basics including battery switch positions, engine checks, connecting & disconnecting from shore power and more.

G'day , this series is the best viewing on any kind of platform . What would need to happen to use these boats in a 240 volt part of the world ?

Love your videos. You should make some new walkthrough videos on your line up.

@@RangerTugsFactory I look forward to them! Customizing a tug on the website is one thing, seeing a walkthrough with different features and updates is another.
I live on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska and am looking forward to owning a Ranger Tug within the next several years.

How hard is it to get fishing licenses for each state when cruising the loop? Is it available at each marina?

I am looking at purchasing a used one, do you provide training for an absolute beginner, I owned a boat once but it was dead on arrival.

Why not make the refrig. Icemakers etc work off both shore power and 12V, especially since mist likely your on shore power most of the time

Hi Edmund, we install the 12V units so you can power them off the batteries regardless of if you have shore power available or not. With the battery charger on (using shore power), the voltage these units are drawing is replenished, so there is no concern about runtime while on shore power.

Why not use single switch for engine and house with a both or parallel, wouldn’t that be simpler and cost effective

Might save a few cents but isolating the engine battery has "saved" many boaters over the years who experienced away-from-the-dock electrical failure. My R-23 has house, engine and emergency parallel switches - just right for safety and peace of mind.
