Having purchased one from a market stall last week and having read and tried to interpret- with the aid of a magnifying glass - the enclosed leaflet I am mightly relived to have found your video. This is the best example of a helpful RUclips information video that I've seen for a long time. Very well done and thanks.
Thanks buddy, I'm glad it was of some use to you, the setting can be a bit of a mystery with no instructions. BTW, I've had mine in my car about 2 1/2 years now.. it's still working fine.
Hello Lee & thank you for the vids, they helped me a lot when using my mirror cam. One thing I did learn which I may have missed in your vids was to only use the motion sensor when the car is parked up, do not use it as a permanent setting. When activated during normal running, it confuses the camera & takes random footage when driving. As I say, you may have mentioned it & may have missed it but hope it is useful for anyone who uses one of these cams & notices the picture randomly coming on & off. Disable the motion sensor during driving, park up, then activate the motion sensor if desired.
Thanks mate, I'm glad the video was of use to you. Yeah I did mention the motion sensor briefly only to say mine doesn't appear do anything. I've had mine switched on for over two years and it's never done anything, either while driving or parked up. My car is stored in a garage at night, theoretically it should pick up the motion of me entering the garage every time I go to get the car out, but its never done it once.
whilst doing some research on this type of camera i came across your vid. just gotta say very well done mate. thoroughly enjoyed it. its helped me make a decision to get one. G'Day from Australia !
Thanks mate, glad it was of some use to you, they are cheap but do the job. I've had mine in almost 2 years now and is still working. Mine gets hit with lots of cold, yours is going to get hit with lots of heat.. you lucky guys down under haha.
Finally I understood how to lock the video-files!!! (at 18:30). Thank you so much! I tried to understand it in browsing on internet and in a lot of videos, and on the little sheet provided with the product.
Great insights and greatly appreciated. About to install one on my Cummins Ram and place the rear cam up by the bed lights on the cab. You answered many questions here.
The reverse camera has an aux port on my mirror.Despite having plugged it in and connected the red wire to the reverse light, the image does not appear on the mirror. Only the front camera's image appears. The leds on the reverse camera comes on but the image does not show. Any advice for this maybe
The motion detection feature makes a protected video if it detects movement. Could be a security feature when car parked at home or anywhere else. Could fill the disc if it sees lots of movement.
The dashcam is worth it if only for the rear view mirror itself. Much wider field of view, so my blind spots are covered out the back side windows, and the tint makes it much easier on the eye. Camera/DVR itself is a bit so-so, I might keep the mirror and buy a better dash camera. It's good, but there are better in the same price range.
Hello, thank you for the review, the quality of the back camera in the night, is not good, I would like to know if we can change the back camera with another with high resolution? Is there any camera compatible with the dash cam?
Thanks for sharing! boot video seems to be the .gif animation that appears when the device is turned on. I guess that format is inside the ROM of the device itself.
@@LeesRandomVids hi just watched your video,,,very informative, but just wondering what the camera view looks like at night,,,,thinking of getting one are they worth it,,thanks
It's not the greatest at night to be honest, low quality cameras struggle in low light, but it's still better than having no camera. I made a sample footage video with a little bit of night driving in it, you can see how dark it is but the road was actually well lit. The rear camera, which is even lower quality actually looks a bit lighter than the front at night. You'd be lucky to get a number plate, but would still show if the other person was driving dangerously, and give you evidence etc. Here's the link to the video, I've set it to start at the night bit for you: ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html
Yeah I made a similar remark about the fit when I installed it ruclips.net/video/YBjn7JWDlTw/видео.html I guess all mirrors are different tho. Mines still fitted and working to this day. 👍
Did you ever find out how to get reverse parking Lines show on screen and also can you just have main screen on reverse camera only plus my reverse camera only came with only red wire no black wire should I attempt to Earth it myself
LeesRandomVids does it have a button to press that records emergency video. Like you press it and it saves and locks the last 4 minutes in a file. Like if you see something stupid on tge road that you want to save can you press a special button to lock it instantly.
Yeah mate, press the button that looks like a flower and it protects the current file being recorded, it wont record over it and you cant delete it without formatting the card. Depending what you have your cyclic recording length set to will determine the amount saved. 1 minute files obv the file saved will be 1 minute long, 3 minute 3 and so on. ruclips.net/video/Dv9ftl5aZ2U/видео.htmlm32s
Perfect video for me to operate my mirror cam. I'm not sure on playback though, did I miss something? Thank you so very much. I wished I would have seen this when you posted it but I have it now. If you would, can you tell me about playback? I don't have the instructions for the cam. Thanks again !!
Thanks mate, I'm glad it was some use to you. Regarding playback, you need to stop it recording by pressing OK then press the flower/gear button (or whatever the symbol means) 2 times to get to the video recordings. Pressing it once shows the pictures, and twice for the videos. Then press the arrow buttons to go through the video clips and OK to play one. Go to 19:40 in the video where I show this with the pics and then video and play back a video, the only thing is, the video I play back I'm not moving as I realised I had deleted them when showing how to format the memory card, that's why I kinda pause as I'm realising lol, but you can still see it is playing back a video because of the play bar. Hope it helps.
Hi, great video, thanks. Do you run off direct power? I ask because my clock resets to zero if I do not drive for more than a day or so. I presume this is because I run the dash from the cigar lighter.
Thank you. No mate, mine is plugged into the cigarette lighter socket too (I installed a second one under the dash wired from the original one) which also disconnects power when the car is turned off. Mine keeps the time (gains a few minutes over the months). Maybe it's the internal battery that keeps the time and is just about dead, (just a guess).
You're welcome. Not sure if its possible to change the internal battery or not as I've never tried opening it up but would be good if it was as my battery is very weak too.
Hi great video tutorial, One question my rear sq camera has only one red wire dose not have a black one, (apart from the main one to go back to the mirror). Dose the red wire link into the live reverse wire on the reverse light.
Thank you. And yes, a few people have said they had the same, and one person came back to say it worked with the one red wire into the live reverse wire.
Yes I have connected my one red wire to live reverse wire and it worked it brought up reverse grid in mirror on engaging reverse , Thank you again great tutorial.
I think motion detection will only record when the cam detects movement. On mine with motion detection turned on, a red time stamp appears in top left and sitting parked with engine on, after 10 seconds of no motion the time stamp stops counting.
Thanks mate, yeah that's what I think it should do too, it doesn't do anything on mine tho, it has been switched on for years and never recorded anything on mine.
Hi, and thank you. It depends when you mean mate, if you mean a live split screen on the mirrors display then you press the left arrow button to choose which camera(s) you want displayed, see 20:48 But if you mean split screen when playing back recordings (which I'm assuming you do) like in my sample footage video or the end of the Q&A video then you cant, well you can but it was done with editing when I made the video. The front and rear cameras are recorded as separate files. The mirror puts all the front camera files in one folder on the memory card and all the rear camera files in another folder. In my videos with split screen I matched and added the two videos together when I made the videos, it wont playback as split screen by itself. In the sample footage video I mentioned the picture in picture playback was done with editing. Hope it helps. Sample footage Video: ►ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html
Hey buddy! Thanks for your review on the dash cam. I'm gonna but one from either Currys or Amazon (both £35) based on your experience. I'm now in the process of looking for one of those Haynes manuals for my car to find out how to wire it in for reversing.
You're welcome mate, glad it was some use to you. On the reverse camera, you just need to connect the switch wire into the reverse light circuit, I made a video showing how I installed mine but I sorta wired mine a more long winded way via the light cluster itself as I didn't was to cut into the car's wires.
Oh nice one mate, I never thought of that or ever noticed a difference in its dynamic range. Best answer on that yet tho, I will test it out one day. Cheers mate. 👍👍
sorry, maybe you have already answered this, the thing is I did a fast forward on your video, so I might have missed it... my question is about the mirror function itself - can you really see through the dark screen as good as if you're looking through the usual mirror? what about the day/night feature the usual rearview mirrors have, does this camera have that as well?
Yeah it was in the other video with peoples questions, this may help you: ►ruclips.net/video/qpukX0-W4oE/видео.html Not sure what day/night function you mean, my normal mirror doesn't change. The dash cam mirror is a little darker, especially at night, but I barely notice it anymore.
Ahh, yeah thats why its darker. If you angled it up like that with the camera your camera would be filming the sky. Seems I answered the exact thing u was wanting to know in the video then haha. Well, hope it helped! :D
You can either mount it with screws or double sided sticky foam pad it came with.. it up to you where you place it, and every car is different. If the back or the seat is solid u might be able to stick it to them. If its not solid it might wobble a lot.
Thank you for the great detailing, i was hoping to follow you but the issue is when i hit OK to stop the initial recording the screen gives me lock 🔒 icon and i still never managed to reach the sitting 😢😢 what to do please
Hi ya re the flat battery problem I’ve had a CB-RADIO and it’s got a USB port on it so now I turn off the radio which turns off the dash cam at the same time 👍.
Hello!!! I need help: Great video by the way... Watching your video, I see that the rear camera is on the rear windshield, right? Here (in Colombia) the installers insist on breaking the car body to "install" the rear camera and I am against it !!! You have it in the car on the rear windshield, is that right?
Yes I put mine on the inside of the car. I showed how I installed mine in another video(s). ruclips.net/video/YBjn7JWDlTw/видео.html The camera tho, it says, is designed for either inside or outside of the car. Many mount them next to the licence plate.
Thanks for sharing. I learnt a lot and could make changes that made the camera work better. However, I don't know if you had these issues. My car is a right hand drive and the camera is on the left, I don't know if there are any with the camera on the right but I am having a difficulty capturing both sides of the roadway. Also, the camera seems to be too heavy for my rear view mirror and causes it to shift downwards making it difficult for me to see . I constantly have to be fixing it! Any suggestions for these issues?
Hi, I'm glad you found it useful. On the camera on the left issue, yeah my car is right hand drive too, did you angle the camera on the back of the mirror as far right as it can go? I assume you know it moves. I had to angle mine as far right as it would go, it still points very slightly left when the mirror is set correctly but it covers just about all of the road ahead. This is how mine looks: ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html On the issue of your mirror dropping, I personally havnt had that issue but every car is different. I don't know what to suggest, hmm, maybe push some blue tack or something into the joint where the stalk enters the mirror at the back to try and stiffen it up a little? not sure, but stiffening the joint may help, but don't use glue or anything like that or your mirror will be stuck. I think id try that first, blue tack, at least you wont ruin your mirror by giving that a try. hope it helps anyway.
Excellent video! Helped me a lot. Two questions, though. 1. Is the forward camera pic supposed to be blurry for distance and crystal clear for real close objects? 2. An hour after installation, it stopped working and shuts off saying, "not enough power" even while the engine is running. I suspect the internal battery is toasted and not holding a charge. Does anyone else have this issue? On a side note - they accidentally sent me two cameras, but one won't even turn on. the boxes are faded, so I think these have been sitting for several years and the batteries are not good anymore. I may dissect the extra one and take a look inside!
1 - No that doesn't sound right, should be focused for far away objects to record traffic. 2 - Strange, should be running on the car's power while the car is running, only uses the battery when the car's power feed is off from it. Yeah would be interested to know how easy it is to change the battery, the one in mine now is 99.9% dead, last a few seconds, that's it. I believe they're some strange cheap obscure battery that are soldered in tho.
@@LeesRandomVids There are a couple of videos here on youtube that show you how to open the unit and replace the battery. I already cracked mine open and ordered the battery online. Hopefully, it works!
@@LeesRandomVids I replaced the battery in the unit with the non-blurry front camera and it is working great. Question: You said the SDCard can fill up with protected videos. Can you tell when a video is protected when you plug the card into your computer? I have a lot of one-minute files on the card, but will these be overwitten or are they protected? Thanks!
Nice one mate, do u remember the type or name of battery to order? I may replace the one in mine one day.. it's 99% dead, has been for ages, lasts about 5 seconds now. Yeah when I put mt SD card in my laptop i think the protected files' names began with SOS then the file number, i think, and the none protected ones started with REC and the the file number. You can delete any you want when the SD card in in the laptop, just click on the end press delete, it's just the dash cam that wont overwrite or delete the protected ones. Cheers for the update. Would have replied sooner but youtube doesn't show replies to comments very easily.
Hi Lee, thanks for a great video. I bought my device about 3 years ago. I had 2 issues with my device so far. 1. The adapter started to stop working and had to buy a new one. 2. The other big issue I have is a rattling sound on all footage recorded. This only happens when I go over uneven roads. It's very annoying when playing back video files. I'm not sure if it's something on my car's actual mirror. I recently bought the same system for my girlfriend with the same issue on hers as well, a rattling noise. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Another issue on her device. Her small screen is not bright enough. She can hardly see what's on the mirror. The actual recorded material is fine. Just the onscreen that's not clear enough. Many thanks
Thanks mate. And you're welcome. I've no idea what the rattling is. If you say it's the same on both yours and your girlfriends units then it must be the unit itself, or really bad luck to get the same rattle in both cars lol. Only thing I can think of is to check that the cables that plug into the recorder are not rattling against the unit. Mine doesn't have any options to alter the screen's brightness so I don't know, the option in the settings called 'LCD brightness' on mine is actually the auto screen of timer.
I have installed the dash cam and it works fine with the supplied rear view camera, but want to install a second rear camera to use only when I tow my caravan. I bought a second camera and am prepared to exchange plugs on the unit to use one at a time as it is quite easy to get to on the mirror. Unfortunately I cannot get the second camera to work. It has a separate power supply and a RCA video output which I can wire to the 2.5mm input plug on the dash cam, but to no avail. Any ideas?
Ahh I see, yeah put the 2nd cam on the caravan and swap the wire over on top on the mirror when towing. It must be a compatibility thing, the dash cam doesn't like the format or whatever that the 3rd camera uses. I have no idea how to get that camera to communicate with the dash cam mirror but one idea I have is.. you could buy two of these dash cam mirrors both with rear cameras but only use one and just take the rear camera out of the second (at least these dash cam mirrors are cheap). As long as these two dash cam mirrors are identical they should work with each other (hopefully but I dont know for sure, buying one another months later or from different buy you could end up with one a little different, its a risk.) Then just use an extension lead so it will reach the back of the caravan. Actually, id say test your current rear camera in the car through the extension lead first before buying a second unit, maybe the extra length could be a problem and the signal gets too weak? Not sure if it is but better to test that before wasting money only to find that out. Hope it was some help anyway.
Great video mate, just wondering is there a way to manually delete protected files to stop them filling up as they do not get auto deleted like the other files
Hi , I just need some help I have the exact model of reverse cam and Im having difficulty on the back camera …… when its facing on opposite direction for example the pole at my back is on the right and its showing on the video its on the left ……is there any buttons to invert the view of or change the positioning ……i cannot put the camera upside down becasuae the video will be upside down as well ….. hope some could help
Yeah I know what you mean, it's the same with mine, think its suppose to make it appear like you're looking through the mirror or something, I cant remember now. Anyway, there is no option to flip it unfortunately, not on my model anyway.
That's annoying, maybe turn the option off so it doesn't record the date and time on the video then if it's wrong, maybe better to have no date showing rather than the wrong one.
Check there is power going to it. Try a second power source like plugging it into your computer via usb or other usb charger. If it turns on then you know it's not getting power in the car, if it doesn't turn on from any power source, or u know 100% it has power in the car then I don't know why it wont turn on, I'd suspect it could be faulty if so.
Oh DEAR! I hope you realise the camera isn't recording a large part of the right hand side of your screen. This item is meant for left hand drive vehicles, not suitable for UK 😅
Yep, it says it's waterproof and able to be fitted on the exterior. I've seen ones which look like these fitted to cars I've been following that have them fitted just above the number plates. I've not fitted mine outside tho so I can't tell you how durable they are.
Hi, and thanks for this video you've shared on RUclips. I bought mine around 3 years ago and gave up on it a few months later. The problem I was getting was that after so long, the dash cam would say memory full. I came to the conclusion it wouldn't over write my day to day non event recordings of daily driving on a loop basis. From what I now understand from your video it will over write on a loop basis, and it's the fact it's locking footage from the guard mode I had set (ie records any vibration from a door shutting or going over rough ground) I'm I correct in assuming that? All the very best 👍
Yeah, that's what happens with mine. It never overwrites protected footage so it can eventually fill the card with them. Shouldn't be filling the card with them quickly tho, unless you live on a very bumpy street, it takes months on mine. If it's filling it too fast try turning the sensitivity to the lowest, that's what I did. Speed bumps and pot holes tend to make mine detect a bump and lock the file.
@@LeesRandomVids Thanks for the reply. Today (just gone) I had another look at it, and coincidently did what you've just suggested and turned the sensitivity setting to low. I also didn't realise that I only had a 8gb memory cards in mine to, so that's been swapped over to a 32gb. Hopefully this will sort out the niggles. One other question for you that may have an answer to, is how does the parking movement detection work. I set mine to on, and the symbol of the man shows up, only to disable when I turn the ignition on. This feature can only be switched back on again once I've cut the power supply via turning off the cars ignition. Is this how it's supposed to be. All the very best and thanks for your words of wisdom 👍👍
Thank mate, hope it helps. The 'parking guard' option, I show how that works in the video, what it does etc, but that's the eye symbol. The symbol of the man walking, that's called 'motion detection' on mine.. and I still to this day don't know what it does. lol. On/off, walk in front of the camera, doesn't seem to do anything. Must do something tho. Really wish they included a manual. lol
Hi I got camera on the box it said vehicle blackbox DVR ( full HD 1080) When I plugged in the cigarette lighter power is on the picture of the earth came on . I try to push menu or mode button nothings come out on the screen. I wait and wait a about 5mins still didn’t do anything. The car stop and park . Do I need to drive for something to happens ? Inside the box no instructions. By the way I got this in Asia while ago.can you help please?
@@LeesRandomVids thanks for that . Yes it’s doesn’t past or opening screen. But the power is on it just showed the picture of the earth. I wait and wait and it wasn’t do anything. I’ve pushed all the buttons too.
I see. I've no idea mate, but it sounds faulty. Can you return it to where you bought it from. You could try pressing the reset switch in the back (it's a tiny pin hole) and removing the memory card to make sure it's not that that's causing it, worth a try but I doubt either will work.
I did not like the blue tint at first, it felt strange and makes the mirror feel darker and it felt a little strange to look at. But I have gotten use to it now and it just feels like an ordinary mirror. (obv with the screen turned off)
My mirror does not show the split images of front and rear cam (only shows the front cam), even though I connected everything correct. What problem would it be. Thank you
The left arrow key selects which camera(s) to view on the screen, shown at 20:40 If no rear camera is displayed, check to see if it is recording the rear camera to the sd card in order to check if the rear camera is working or not. If it's recording the rear camera then at least it's recording it, but the left arrow should allow you to display it, if its not recording the rear camera either then maybe the rear camera is faulty?
Is there anyway to edit the night vision? We just got ours today and the night vision is terrible. You cant even read the license plate from the car in front and theres so much glaring from all the street/car lights
The night vision on mine is pretty poor too, but it's better than nothing at all. I put some sample video here showing some night vision, dunno if yours is better or worse than mine. ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html
Hello. I have installed this xamera on my car and it worked fine for some time but now it is operating very slowly, basically lagging be it in selecting the menu options or the camera it self. Any idea why this could happen and how to fix it?
Ugh I dont know off my head, I'll have to measure when I'm in the car and remember to take a tape measure with me lol, but if it helps, it was roughly the size of my existing mirror, or very slightly less. You can see here when I was fitting how much it overhangs it if it helps. ruclips.net/video/YBjn7JWDlTw/видео.html
Hi I have just installed a DVR full HD 1080p Dual Dash Cam Mirror with front and rear camera and the problem is that the rear camera( square with 4 LEDs) is showing mirror image. What can I Do please ??
Some are flipped some arnt it seems. Mine is flipped, that is if I play the rear video back on screen the number plates read backwards ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html However this is correct if you want to use the rear camera as a reverse camera too as it's showing the view you would see as though you was looking out of your rear view mirror and looks natural. Which way is yours? Does yours show the licence plates reading left to right or right to left? Someone recently posted theirs wasn't flipped (plates read correctly) but it was unusable as a reversing/parking camera. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any way you can flip it on the mirror camera, there's no option on mine. But if it's flipped (plates read backwards) I'd say this is correct/better.
the parking lines? dont know, there is no option on mine to turn them on or off, they appear when the rear camera is auto displayed when the car is put into reverse. if urs is set up to do that then they should appear.
The video screen or the mirror itself for rear headlights? The video screen is either on of off, so no auto dimming. And for the rear headlights, that's why the mirror is blue, to reduce the dazzle. Tho it makes it seem a bit dark in the day until you get use to it and then you don't even notice it anymore.
Hi, the lines are just embedded on the image I think, no way of adjusting them without adjusting the camera itself. I agree I think mine look too high too, but I never use it to reverse with anyway so it never bothered me.
Just a stupid question, I had installed the dash cam and just rolling for about 2 hrs, the screen shows that the memory is full, I dont know what to do?
Make sure cyclic record is on in the options. Cyclic record is the option that allows it to record over the oldest files so once it's full, it starts recording over the oldest ones and then is can keep recording forever looping over and over. If cyclic record is turned off it will fill the card then have no room left to record anymore. Hope it helps. 😄
If the poster's solution didn't work for you then the unit might be broken. My unit filled up and "format" didn't seem to do anything. I removed the card and formatted it on my laptop and verified the card was blank. Oddly, when I reinstalled the blank 16GB card, the camera reinstalled all the videos! It apparently has internal memory that is dynamic not static (files don't disappear with power removed). If the unit is corrupted then there is no way to remove those files, even by formatting the card.
Hi, I don’t know if you have answered this already but is there a way I can access the recorded videos through my phone? Does this camera have an app I can install? Thanks.
Gidday mate I have just installed one if these in my ford escape my friend bought it in Thailand problem I have found is the camera set up is for a left hand drive car and the blue tint makes it hard to view the camera during a sunny day its okay at night but not during the day
I think it's made for both, but perhaps left hand drive cars primarily that can also be adjusted to fit right hand drive cars too. Make sure to angle the camera as far right as it will go on the back of the mirror, I did this and it just about points forwards on mine, maybe very slightly to the left but records the whole road. The blue was very strange for me at first too, infact I didn't like it, but I have gotten use to it now and it's fine. I've not had a problem with viewing the screen on sunny days... tho I am in England haha. Cheers mate.
No idea what it does mate, possibly, I'll have to try. Dunno why they cant just put one sheet of instructions in just saying what each option is for lol. I've never got it to do anything but maybe I'll have another go trying to figure it out.
@@LeesRandomVids Thanks so much for this brilliant and informative instruction/year-update post - great! With regards to the instruction sheets, I downloaded a PDF which is a tad more helpful - it's filename is: ld353-um-en

Yeah, it can be wired so it automatically displays the rear camera on screen when the car is put into reverse.
You're welcome, I'm really glad you found it useful! 😃👍
Great insights and greatly appreciated. About to install one on my Cummins Ram and place the rear cam up by the bed lights on the cab. You answered many questions here.
Thank you, I'm really glad it was useful to you. Hope the install goes smoothly! 👍
Takes a lot of patience to figure it out. I’ve had two of em and didn’t know ish until watching this video!!!
You're welcome! I'm really glad it was useful to you.
Big thank you, I was just about to send it back, until you commented, it real helps
Really glad it helped you, and thank you too :D
I didn’ get a rear view camera, only then mirror and charger
Hi, does it record on regular mirror mode? without the mini screen?
Just bought one. This is very informative thank you
Guys you need to attach the red wire coming from the rear camera to the reversing light on your car to get the reversing lines to come up.
Yes!
The reverse camera has an aux port on my mirror.Despite having plugged it in and connected the red wire to the reverse light, the image does not appear on the mirror. Only the front camera's image appears. The leds on the reverse camera comes on but the image does not show. Any advice for this maybe
Thanks very much, Lee ! Now I can use the mirror cam to its fullest. Take care and thanks again...
You're welcome mate, and you too! 👍😃
Thank you for doing these videos. I've learnt a lot from you as the instructions are rubbish. Thank you!
Lee
Good update video.
Just ordered 1 from amazon.
Justifying the purchase in this video is priceless.
Sub'd.
Thanks.
Thank you, I'm really glad it was useful to you! :D
The motion detection feature makes a protected video if it detects movement. Could be a security feature when car parked at home or anywhere else. Could fill the disc if it sees lots of movement.
Thanks for your input mate, I still cant get it to do anything on mine tho.
even if the car is turned off?
The dashcam is worth it if only for the rear view mirror itself. Much wider field of view, so my blind spots are covered out the back side windows, and the tint makes it much easier on the eye. Camera/DVR itself is a bit so-so, I might keep the mirror and buy a better dash camera. It's good, but there are better in the same price range.
Yeah its cheap as chips but does the job.
Now I know what the arrows mea; ie to change the views!!!!! Thanks mate!
Hello, thank you for the review, the quality of the back camera in the night, is not good, I would like to know if we can change the back camera with another with high resolution? Is there any camera compatible with the dash cam?
Hi, I'm not aware of any other cameras that can be plugged into this, I think that would be a good idea tho!
Thank you sir!!!! from Alabama!!!!! instructions that came with mine were useless. you saved my bacon!
You're welcome mate, glad it was some use to you.
Brullient vid just purchased 1 for £10 exact sane as yours hope it works welldone
Thank you, I'm glad it helped. £10!! Very cheap! Nice!!!
Nice guide and explanation an year of using it. Very helpful, thanks a lot!
Thanks mate, I'm glad it was some use to you. 👍😄
I hope it had a setting to show just the rear camera on the full screen.
yep
Having a hard time to fix the time and date. Please let me know how to go about doing that?
the boot video automatically turns the video recording on it can also be set to off
Thanks mate, yeah it does.
Thanks for sharing!
boot video seems to be the .gif animation that appears when the device is turned on. I guess that format is inside the ROM of the device itself.
Then I hope this makes you day! 😄👍
Thanks for the very helpful video. i am not clear which camera does it record?
How do I delete the protected files on the sd card. Tried formatting device and my Mac? they just won't delete?
I recently purchased one of these units and found that the rear view camera picture seems to be inversed. Left is Right. Is there a way to fix this.
So good video review , Thank You .Can be of great help when shopping (I ordered yesterday) from Aliexpress CN .
Thank you and you're welcome, I'm glad it was useful to you. 😃
Just got this unit. Like it alot. Only down side is how poorly it fits over the rear view mirror. Otherwise it's a pretty solid unit.
Yeah I made a similar remark about the fit when I installed it ruclips.net/video/YBjn7JWDlTw/видео.html I guess all mirrors are different tho. Mines still fitted and working to this day. 👍
I know this was 5 years ago but is it always recording when the display is off? I can not tell lol
Did you ever find out how to get reverse parking Lines show on screen and also can you just have main screen on reverse camera only plus my reverse camera only came with only red wire no black wire should I attempt to Earth it myself
Can we see the back when we Reverse the car?
LeesRandomVids does it have a button to press that records emergency video. Like you press it and it saves and locks the last 4 minutes in a file. Like if you see something stupid on tge road that you want to save can you press a special button to lock it instantly.
Yeah mate, press the button that looks like a flower and it protects the current file being recorded, it wont record over it and you cant delete it without formatting the card. Depending what you have your cyclic recording length set to will determine the amount saved. 1 minute files obv the file saved will be 1 minute long, 3 minute 3 and so on.

Can you have a FULL view for the back windshield of the car with the camera’s screen on the left of the mirror ?!
Yep, it's shown in the video.
@@LeesRandomVids Thanks for the info. I will try and replace the battery.
Thanks mate, gald it was of some use to you. Glad it worked and thanks for the update too, good info for others. Cheers
I think motion detection will only record when the cam detects movement. On mine with motion detection turned on, a red time stamp appears in top left and sitting parked with engine on, after 10 seconds of no motion the time stamp stops counting.
Yeah, doesn't appear to do anything on mine
Motion detection is for when the car is parked it will start recording when motion is detected outside the car.
Thanks mate, yeah that's what I think it should do too, it doesn't do anything on mine tho, it has been switched on for years and never recorded anything on mine.
Thank you very much for these details .
You're welcome, I'm really glad it was useful to you. 😄👍
Mine didn't come with a card. Can it still record and save video? Just not up to 32g with a card right?
Hi I’ve tried what I ask you about the fuse and it was ok and a lot simpler than the light cluster.
Ah nice one! glad you got it working!!!
How did you install the rear camera?
Hi how do you get a split screen showing front and rear at the same time , Thanks for video very informative
Hi, and thank you. It depends when you mean mate, if you mean a live split screen on the mirrors display then you press the left arrow button to choose which camera(s) you want displayed, see 20:48
But if you mean split screen when playing back recordings (which I'm assuming you do) like in my sample footage video or the end of the Q&A video then you cant, well you can but it was done with editing when I made the video.

Thank you for your answer you answered my question very helpful
@@LeesRandomVids I was watching that video and I was thinking would I be able to put my car back together again😂
WDR = Wide Dynamic Range Gives you better Color more dynamic in picture so it looks good. sky and ground.
Yeah it was in the other video with peoples questions, this may help you:
►ruclips.net/video/qpukX0-W4oE/видео.html
Not sure what day/night function you mean, my normal mirror doesn't change. The dash cam mirror is a little darker, especially at night, but I barely notice it anymore.
@@LeesRandomVids Thank you. :)
I meant this: ruclips.net/video/gQqZyOcuyv8/видео.html
Ahh, yeah thats why its darker. If you angled it up like that with the camera your camera would be filming the sky. Seems I answered the exact thing u was wanting to know in the video then haha. Well, hope it helped! :D
@@LeesRandomVids Yeah, it did, thanks. :)
I have a convertible, can the back up camera part be mounted on the back seats?
You can either mount it with screws or double sided sticky foam pad it came with.. it up to you where you place it, and every car is different. If the back or the seat is solid u might be able to stick it to them. If its not solid it might wobble a lot.
Good video. Kudos too for the unpaid tech support.
Haha, thanks mate, and you're welcome.
Thank you for the great detailing, i was hoping to follow you but the issue is when i hit OK to stop the initial recording the screen gives me lock 🔒 icon and i still never managed to reach the sitting 😢😢 what to do please
Strange, I don't know why it does that. Mine has never done that so I don;t know.
Hi ya re the flat battery problem I’ve had a CB-RADIO and it’s got a USB port on it so now I turn off the radio which turns off the dash cam at the same time 👍.
Ahh that's a good idea if your socket is permanently live, a lot easier than wiring a relay in etc, good idea! 👍
Hi Lee, any tips for reverse cam image flip, lateral inversion? Thanks
No mate, mine doesn't have the option to flip it. I've looked for that option too.
@@LeesRandomVids thanks for getting back to me, just thought I'd check with you, God bless mate
I showed how I installed mine in another video(s). ruclips.net/video/YBjn7JWDlTw/видео.html
The camera tho, it says, is designed for either inside or outside of the car.
This is how mine looks: ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html
On the issue of your mirror dropping, I personally havnt had that issue but every car is different.
Hey just wanted to know if its possible to actually have it showing on the full screen instead of the one side
No its not possible. Thats just where the screen is.
Hi ya I told you about the power cable well I found out the fuse in the plug had blown new fuse and it’s ok.
Sweet, I love it when its a simple fix!
I bought a second camera and am prepared to exchange plugs on the unit to use one at a time
as it is quite easy to get to on the mirror.
@@LeesRandomVids Hi Lees, It was cheaper to buy a second display just for when I am towing. Problem solved.
Great video mate, just wondering is there a way to manually delete protected files to stop them filling up as they do not get auto deleted like the other files
Thanks mate, yeah it was answered in the other video, the Q+A video. You need to format the card to delete them.
hello what is the longest video time it can be save
Great video mate. Thank you
Thanks mate, glad it was some use to you. 👍😄
Hi there, My Blackbox DVR mirror dash cam does not retain the date and time settings. It keeps on defaulting to the 2018 date.
That's annoying, maybe turn the option off so it doesn't record the date and time on the video then if it's wrong, maybe better to have no date showing rather than the wrong one.
hi the mirror have has the italian language? the buttons are illuminated? thanks you
You're welcome
Io ho acquistato lo specchio ma non mi funziona. Da due settimane come devo fare sono molto dispiaciuto...?
Hi, mine is not turned on when I start my car, and when I press any button it's still blank. Could you please help me on that?
Check there is power going to it. Try a second power source like plugging it into your computer via usb or other usb charger. If it turns on then you know it's not getting power in the car, if it doesn't turn on from any power source, or u know 100% it has power in the car then I don't know why it wont turn on, I'd suspect it could be faulty if so.
Oh DEAR! I hope you realise the camera isn't recording a large part of the right hand side of your screen. This item is meant for left hand drive vehicles, not suitable for UK 😅
ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html
Can you fit the rear camera outside and use it as a reversing camera when reverse is selected?
Yep, it says it's waterproof and able to be fitted on the exterior. I've seen ones which look like these fitted to cars I've been following that have them fitted just above the number plates. I've not fitted mine outside tho so I can't tell you how durable they are.
Hi, and thanks for this video you've shared on RUclips. I bought mine around 3 years ago and gave up on it a few months later. The problem I was getting was that after so long, the dash cam would say memory full. I came to the conclusion it wouldn't over write my day to day non event recordings of daily driving on a loop basis.
From what I now understand from your video it will over write on a loop basis, and it's the fact it's locking footage from the guard mode I had set (ie records any vibration from a door shutting or going over rough ground)
I'm I correct in assuming that?
I also didn't realise that I only had a 8gb memory cards
in mine to, so that's been swapped over to a 32gb.
Really wish they included a manual. lol
Great info, thanks!!!! Are there any other helpful videos for any car that you recommend? Cheers!!!!
You're welcome. I'm glad it was useful to you.
Very helpful video. great job and thanks
Thanks mate, I'm glad it was some use to you. 👍
Hi I got camera on the box it said vehicle blackbox DVR ( full HD 1080)
When I plugged in the cigarette lighter power is on the picture of the earth came on . I try to push menu or mode button nothings come out on the screen. I wait and wait a about 5mins still didn’t do anything. The car stop and park . Do I need to drive for something to happens ?
Inside the box no instructions.
By the way I got this in Asia while ago.can you help please?
You mean it doesn't get past the opening screen? You cant see the camera? It should just start showing the camera on the screen automatically.
@@LeesRandomVids thanks mate I will try doing that tomorrow.have a great holiday 👍
Hi I don't why mine only recording less than 10 minutes then it says the memory card is full and it's 32gb? Thanks
Have you tried the solutions in the video that talks about this?
How is the visibility of the mirror when it is turned off?
Does that Blue tint affect the vision?
I did not like the blue tint at first, it felt strange and makes the mirror feel darker and it felt a little strange to look at. But I have gotten use to it now and it just feels like an ordinary mirror. (obv with the screen turned off)
My mirror does not show the split images of front and rear cam (only shows the front cam), even though I connected everything correct. What problem would it be. Thank you
The left arrow key selects which camera(s) to view on the screen, shown at 20:40
If no rear camera is displayed, check to see if it is recording the rear camera to the sd card in order to check if the rear camera is working or not.
No idea on that one mate, maybe try formatting the memory card.
whats the measurements from the inside of the camera to the edge so I can see if it will fit on my rear mirror
I downloaded a free 'flip and rotate' program and in the event of wishing to see a non-mirror image, it's a 1-minute operation.
Thanks mate, I didn't know you could do that on these.
Hi , My reversing line was lost when i put in gear R . how can i setup it ?
the parking lines? dont know, there is no option on mine to turn them on or off, they appear when the rear camera is auto displayed when the car is put into reverse. if urs is set up to do that then they should appear.
what it the type of memory you have
Is it autodimming at night? Thanks
Hello. How do I adjust reversing lines? My are points to high and I can’t adjust with moving back camera up or down.
Hi, the lines are just embedded on the image I think, no way of adjusting them without adjusting the camera itself. I agree I think mine look too high too, but I never use it to reverse with anyway so it never bothered me.
Thank you.

Boot video is like a short animation letting the user know.. hey I'm here getting ready to record.
Hi. i just had one of the latest version of this. I want to ask if there is any way to turn off the camera light.
Camera light? Mine doesn't have a light so I can't help you I'm afraid. All I can say is check through the settings, see what options are there.
Hi, I don’t know if you have answered this already but is there a way I can access the recorded videos through my phone? Does this camera have an app I can install? Thanks.
No, it just records video files to an sd card.
When recording on front camera while driving, is the rear camera also recording?
Yes.
Mines broke like this, the rearview camera won't show! I'm trying to get an even better one!
That's a shame, check no wires are trapped.
My DVR recording is very poor. Is there any firmware update available for this
I don't know. It's not something I've ever looked for.
How do I put on full screen
Hi ya just watching your video again today the motion censor do you think it may be to detect any movement behind the back of the car.
Thanks mate! And you're welcome, thanks for the PDF too it may be useful for others too
Hi just come across your video! I've bought one of these but it's all in Chinese and the symbols in setting seem to be different, do you have any idea how to change it to English please?
shown here ruclips.net/video/qpukX0-W4oE/видео.html
how do you enable the eye icon on the screen? I can't find mine.
That's the parking guard option, turn it on or off. I explain how it works in the video where I go through the settings. hope it helps.
i need a rear camera when I back a car in. does this rear camera and screen work like parking camer?
thanks.
Yeah, it can be wired so it automatically displays the rear camera on screen when the car is put into reverse. I did with mine, but I never actually use it to reverse with as I prefer turning and looking through the back window. This video shows the quality of the rear camera, is its any use to you. ruclips.net/video/G9-7_AorJyI/видео.html
