Advice from a police wife who has done a lot of self defense, as tough as it is to be aware and on top of the situation please try these tips. Don't be looking down texting or otherwise distracted. Be LOUD. Kidnappers and attackers thrive on their victims being too scared to make a scene. Look for well lit areas such as banks (they have cameras out front), fire stations, hospitals, hotels, 24 hour restaurants or laundromat, etc. If by yourself, call the police first thing. LOUDLY and on speakerphone describe the person, (their looks, their clothes, tattoos, piercings, accessories, weight,, height hair color, etc), the reason you're calling, your location, people in your group, and say "Yes I want to stay on the phone with you until an officer arrives". If you're with one other person, they should stay OFF their phone and pay all of their attention to surroundings. Take note of cars, other people, doorways, and alleyways. If in a group of 3 or more, one person calls the cops, one person is the lookout and one person calls someone LOCAL to update them on their location and the situation. They should stay on the phone with their person until help arrives. Jess, your instinct to move to a more populated area was spot on.
Something else to be aware of, when taking an Uber to Lyft, especially if you are in a group of all girls, DO NOT give the exact address of the Air bnb. There has been drivers who write the address down and prey on all girl groups. Not to scare anyone, but just to be safer.
Yes unfortunately this happened to me & my best friend..Sadly her life was taken that night and I barely made it out. For all the woman and even men PLEASE BE AWARE EVEN THE MOST NORMAL LOOKING PEOPLE CAN BE THE DEVIL IN DISGUISE..
I think this is so important that you shared this. You never know when a detail or piece of information may resonate with someone in danger . It’s also very common for someone who has been through this to suffer from PTSD big time. Don’t be afraid to seek out help if needed. Luv u girl!
This is why you need to be aware of everything that's going on around you at all times. No matter if you know the place you're and especially if you don't know where you are at. Glad you're okay
And have something to protect yourself with…..pepper spray a small pocket knife in ur purse etc…..I always take things with me like that when I’m out especially at night! Like walking my dog around the neighborhood at night!
Always share these experiences Jess, whether you feel as if you were in a dangerous situation or think it was blown out of proportion afterwards, they are important and it’s important to get the news out that human trafficking is a HUGE problem and people are afraid to live.
While growing up my mom would always ask us kids to describe what car was just next to us in a parking lot after it pulled away. What color is was, what it looked like, things like that. She would also ask us to describe people sometimes when they walked by us and we were already past. This made me so aware of my surroundings at such a young age and my kids are going to be taught the same. Maybe a good tip if you are wanting to teach your kiddos of their surroundings! Make it fun like a game and it will be such a helpful life lesson! 👌☺️
That man that called the police was a guardian angel for sure. Especially when there was absolutely no one else around and he came at thr right time! This is so scary but such an important topic to speak about, thank-you for sharing Jess we know it wasn't easy for you to do this! We are so thankfully you are all home safe now 💗
This may sound silly, but growing up I was obsessed with lifetime movies and true crime documentaries and I honestly feel like watching those prepared me to be fearful and vigilant whenever I'm in public. I always look in the backseat of my car before getting in, especially at night, always look under my car as I'm approaching it, lock my doors the second I get in the car, have the emergency call screen opened if I'm walking through a parking lot at night, etc. As a kid I had nightmares probably due to watching that stuff, but I'm honestly grateful I wasn't sheltered from it. You really cannot trust anyone and always need to be on the lookout, especially as a woman! So so sorry you went through this, Jessica. I'm very glad you all are okay (maybe not mentally, but physically at least).
Jess I really hope you learn from this. I'm 62 now but when I was 19 my friend walked home from a bar alone. She never made it home. The police found her body between two apt buildings. Thank you for telling your story hopefully others will learn from your experience
It’s horrible that women can’t go out on the street anywhere on the world without feeling safe! We always go out with this feeling that you don’t know if you are going to return home. Glad you are safe 💜
My friend’s father was constantly telling us, “Nothing good happens after 1am.” He was so very right! Don’t hang around bars at closing time, because people are drunk, desperate, etc. I’ve passed this same advise to my kids. You all placed yourselves in a dangerous position, and panicked, rather than having a clear head and a possible plan to act on. Predators thrive on victim panic. Tracy’s ‘situational awareness’ radar flipped on. Thankfully, you had a favorable outcome and learned a bit about personal safety.
So sorry this happened. I’m a Nashville native, and unfortunately this stuff happens more than you would think. I know exactly where that spot is. Glad you guys are safe! Hopefully it didn’t ruin Nashville for ya :) it really is a great place to live! And pucketts is amazing! Right across the street from my condo!
Just stumbled across your comment and thought in light of this video’s theme, might be a good idea to remove the part of your comment that gives your exact residence/location 😬 almost 300 people liked your comment and I’m sure many more have viewed! You just never know!
@@klandusb literally was about to say not to mention where you live given the situation in this video...or ya know.....ever....dont ever give that much info on where you live.
That definitely sounds like a trafficking situation setup. I’m pretty sure I was almost picked up once (in broad daylight) and I just get the same feeling hearing your situation. God only knows who else was in that vehicle or who he was on the phone with or who was waiting around the corner/down the street. I’m so glad all of you ladies are ok. Always share these type of stories, it brings awareness for other women, especially the younger ladies just experiencing bars/clubs for the first time
You know what's ironic is the thing that could have scared him off immediately is something you always do - pull out a camera and start filming! Everytime stuff like this is in the news I'm always commenting " Pull out your phone and start filming because anybody who's up to no good doesn't want to be caught doing it on camera!"
Yes! Whenever I feel sus about someone hanging around too close I take a picture of them. They normally go away after that but I also send the photo to some people who know exactly why I would be sending it. That way if anything does happen, they have a picture to show to police
as someone who is from the nashville area, stories like this happen way too often sadly. its dark, but trafficking is really bad in tennessee especially in the nashville area. i am just glad yall are okay!!
He could also have been "hiding" but knowing you'd see him and run down a different street and be on the phone to someone near by waiting to find out what way you went to get you there. So scary, literally sounded like I was listening to a horror story. So glad you all made it out safe and that someone has gave great advice on what to do in these kinds of situations.
Reasons like that is why I walk around with a safety Keychain with a knife, pepper spray and glass breaker. I also carry a taser now. I live in NY so it's almost a must now tbh. But don't be afraid to go live during situations like that you're blessed to have a huge following so people can call for you and be a witness for you. Being a black woman and from NY has made me hyper vigilant. I'm so happy yall are okay. I hope it doesn't cause lasting trauma to any of yall
I wish I could carry that stuff on me but it’s apparently illegal here in Canada. If you’re seen carrying pepper spray or any type of self defence weapon you can get arrested. It’s honestly so stupid, how am I supposed to defend myself if something were to happen? Im not strong I can’t fight someone off if I were to get grabbed by someone and in a situation like that I would probably freeze from being terrified.
@@breanneblaquiere2002 There are other options you can utilize that are legal here in Canada. Hold your keys between your fingers…very poky if you need to hit someone. Depending on the size of purse you’re carrying, carry wasp spray. It sprays 20 feet away and will burn like a MOFO if it gets in his eyes and nasal passages. If carrying a small bag, a travel size bottle of hair spray will also very efficiently burn eyes.
@@Pimpyourhair that's good. Canada is full of crime and murders obviously not as bad as the US though but the city I live in is known for people going missing and being murdered. Which is why I feel so unsafe going places alone and always feel like I'm being watched wherever I go. I had some guy honk at me while I was taking my sisters dog for a walk and then he drove by super slow and was starting at me in a creepy way.
@@breanneblaquiere2002 I am in Winnipeg I carry a heavy duty glass breaker pen and travel size hairspray. Nothing illegal about them but will help,us ladies know what one small spray feels like in the eye. Continuous spray would hopefully give you some time to get away.
My mom and gma always told me nothing good happens after midnight. I am so glad you are all okay!! But people out there that are planning to do bad know especially in this day and age of human trafficking know that late at night around bars is prime places for their victims. You did to ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings.
I cried hearing your story. I hate being a woman and being so scared. I would have never guessed that being a group of 3, something like this could still happen. Glad you're safe and okay
right like a bitch is in tears like it actually happening is like so unreal and stuff like this has happened to me at a younger age even tho i’m still very young but when it happens to u or someone u have/ feel like u have a connection to is an unexplainable uncomfortable feeling. and then her having to go home and tell like lilia or just her kids in general it’s just so sad!
@@moniqueforte5261 yes seriously - I wasn't full on sobbing but yes, it choked me up because I always have to think how I'm going to get home, and whether it will be dark when an event finishes, and if I could go home with someone as I always though safety in numbers. I have this fear on a daily basis and yes, it makes me cry because it's scary and sad that we have to go through this. Like Jess, I don't do well with conflict and scary situations. I'm in my early 20s and I have been bought up to always be safe and careful. I have never fully enjoyed a night out without thoughts like this crossing my mind. Don't put women down and invalidate their feelings. I bet you won't be happy and jolly in a situation like this.
that's terrifying! He was probably on the phone with someone else to be a part of it. Omg so glad y'all are all okay. As a single mom living in a major city (Philly) I don't even wear earphones when I'm out, or chat with my daughter when we're walking, I try to be as aware & focused on my surroundings as possible. It sucks that evil people are everywhere. So glad y'all are okay.
Thankfully you all stayed in your groups together. I guarantee that guy has done this in the past, and I hope he gets caught. Allow yourself to process and deal with it how you need to, it was a very traumatic experience. Thank you for being brave enough to share it so others know!
I was always told from a young age to never go out alone, whether it be at night or during the day and to scream and kick up a fuss if I ever did have anything happen to me, and I now understand why. You just never know what’s going to happen. Never fully trust anyone unless you know them personally or they seem like they legitimately will help you if you appear to be in trouble. Tracy did the right thing by doing what she did.
Jess always be aware of your surroundings even when you're in your hometown. Growing up here in Missouri, I learned very fast to beware of what is around me. I always taught my girls to do the same and if someone approaches them to go to a neighbor n ask to come in and call me when they were little. You never know who or what is lurking around the next corner/bend in the sidewalk. Please teach all the kids to beware of their surroundings and have a plan of what to do just in case.
I thought the same thing! Mum life comes so naturally to Jess but just jesss not so much 😜 great to see you let you hair down💜 and so glad you are all ok xxx
@@ixela7 so irrelevant to the point we were making though, its just unneeded nastiness. Clearly jealous you're life's not as lit. You sound the dumb one to me. 🙋🤷
Im glad you made the call to Talya like you did. That put all the actions in motion just right. Be sure to look out for any PTSD that may come from this. Take care of yourself bcz you are loved and everyone wants you to take your oxygen mask before you are the supermom, wife, sister, daughter, cousin , friend, etc that you already normally are
@@brittanynicole167 wow. If you can't see that this was very well likely a legit case of that vehicle and that guy being a part of looking for a couple of beautiful women to traffic, then, I can see why you wouldn't see why PTSD might be a joke.
@@jengarc77 I don’t believe PTSD is a joke. PTSD is very real for people who go through traumatic events like the war, mass shootings, abductions, assault. It’s offensive to those who actually have PTSD to suggest that this woman might develop it from a man moving his car and walking up and down the street… get a grip.
@@brittanynicole167 I do have PTSD. It was more than 1 person. There was a van with a driver and then a point man who was the walker. The van moved to be in better access so the man walking could coerce them in that direction. I do have a grip. Trafficking is something that I am passionate about and try to be hyper aware about. Please, if you have nothing positive to say, just don't say it at all bcz there is no offense intended here. Something I'm sure Jesss can agree with since she liked my first comment.
Random advice thats a bank behind you, if ever being chased by a bank throw a rock at bank doors. Police will be there in 60 seconds 😅 trust me, way faster.
It’s a pretty safe bet that most banks have extremely strong windows and doors for the reason of preventing robberies. You’re not going to just be able to throw a rock at them and break them, unless you’re “The Rock” and have a cinder block. Not to mention, you’d likely be arrested yourself for damaging property and what would be seen as an attempted break in. Definitely worth trying though if it’s truly your only option.
Nashville has one of the highest crime rates, so makes sense why this happened . Never walk alone and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Stay safe
Glad you all made it out alive because most in this situation don't. Let this be a lesson... 2:30am walking from a bar on an empty dark street in a different state... no thanks.
thats what i say . This girls are smart , mothers. Why would you even think about going home at 2 am safe... not in a million years. the devil doesn't sleep. But don't help him out. they should of gotten an uber (i don't trust ubers ether) but its safer then walking home. dumb move to the honest.
I am so glad you are all ok! So scary! Women especially know your surroundings. This is exactly how sex trafficking happens. Jess I can't imagine yours and your friends feelings and it's all valid. Thank you for posting this. It's all worth it if it helps one victim save herself. ❤️
The real ones listened to the story on the podcast. So glad you’re all okay! You’re also smashing all these long uploads on here & Jesssfam, you should be so proud of yourself Jessica. Love you🥰❤️
I live in NC which is the 8th state in the top ten for human trafficking. Just being in the south is a hotspot in general and I have been put in so many situations like that and I’m so sorry this happened to you all! I am so glad you talked about this because often times the “first person to help you” isn’t really trying to help you in a trafficking situation! Which is so scary!!
@@editsbytori there’s a lot of hotspots because there’s a lot of rural towns that are off of I-95 which runs all the way to Florida and that’s why NC has such a problem with this. The two biggest hotspots I know of are Dunn and Lumberton. You just always have to be careful in places like Raleigh and Charlotte as well. I have a taser with me at all times as well as pepper spray!
I live in Chapel Hill NC right now but was born and raised in Charlotte and it happened to me 3 different times there. Scary stuff and just got to keep your eyes open. 2 times I was by myself and one time I was in the car with my 7 year old.
nc person here , i live in a very secluded area with a population of around 3,000-4,000 people . i'm a minor and my parents assure me that the town i live in is safe , but when you see stories (like jess's) it really terrifies you . thank god for my brother's interests , though , because when i go on a walk i always bring one of his plastic bags haha (only used for baseball) and when i'm watching my siblings whilst my parents aren't home , i advise one of them to get a baking pan from the kitchen and bring the bats inside . we also stay in one room close together , have the windows rolled down and the back/front doors locked . for people reading this , be aware of your surroundings . home alone ? get something hard or stiff . for example , if you have a long toy (like a toy horse , racing set toys , if you have a nerf gun laying around TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT and maybe grab kitchenware) i am not perfect nor am i giving perfect advice !! but i am trying to give pointers for any young people like myself out there , or just someone looking for advice . stay safe guys ! i love you all and safety should always be taken seriously !
I’m so glad you all are okay. Always take an Uber or taxi from one destination to the other even if it’s one road over. I was walking from a bar to my friend’s apartment and was robbed at gun point and it traumatized me so bad. That was in 2008 and I’m still terrified of being out at night and of guns in general.
My hubby is a Sac County Deputy and he's engrained in my head the things to focus on and not focus on while out. We taught the kids these things as well except even though my kids are teens I'd never let them out alone at night!😂 Just always be aware of your surroundings and don't be distracted on your phone etc. If anyone ever called out to me to look back etc I NEVER WILL. I live in the Elk Grove area which is around Sac and our area is still a good area but like my husband pointed out, it's starting to get pockets of bad coming in😔 I was always so naive and wanted to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and one day I was getting in my car from putting groceries away and the girl in the car next to mine signaled me to roll down window. I did half way and she kept going on about how beautiful my wedding ring was. I was distracted by looking at it, laughing with her, saying thank you over and over, that a guy I'm guessing she was with came out of nowhere and grabbed my hand through window. I pulled hard and drove off as fast as I could. I have a conceal and carry so he's lucky!!! Sorry for the long comment but I wasn't paying attention because she was so nice. Not saying anything was going to happen but just sharing how being alert everywhere can save your life
came here from OK baby to hear the story- i gotta say it's a crazyyy one and unfortunately us women really need to be careful and watch our surrounding especially at night! good thing you all were so aware and handle it like champions!
OMG, Jess! I'm so grateful that everything turned out for all of you! I can tell that it was very traumatizing for you...smh... just the thought of the situation freaks me the hell out and gives me chills! I bet seeing Chris, at the airport, was a sight for sore eyes! LOL!❤️ This is a crazy world we live in... Please, everyone, be mindful...
It’s so horrible but also so important that you had this experience and can pass this knowledge on to Lilia and Addie. I’m only 22 and I’ve had way too many close encounters. It can be so frustrating to have to explain to a male friend exactly why walking at night is so scary.
So thankful you weren’t alone! And that Tracy did stand up and say something, I live in Reno, NV my entire life and walking downtown at night super late always sketches me out. I think the worse at all times which isn’t always great but it definitely makes me aware of my surroundings. Also pepper spray is always on me!
So glad you're safe. People are so evil. Thank you for talking about this! Opening a conversation about these things will help others know what to look out for and in todays world we ALL need to know what to look out for/what to do in these situations
So sorry this happened to you. And so true - that waste management guy could have been involved to distract you - you just never know. Grammy was defo there looking out for you 💗
YES. I am kind of on the fence on the “You should always give people the benefit of the doubt” stuff I hear alot, but in this situation I still feel like he could have been a threat. If it wasn’t for the fact that he called the police.. right? Unless I misunderstood. But anyway, I’m sitting here thinking (And I’m already a person that doesn’t trust anyone) WHY was a waste management person out at 2:30 in the morning, in his company car AND just happened to be WATCHING?? If I were in that situation, and I know it’s easy for me to say not being in the situation…keep walking no matter who pulls up and seems to be helpful. Unless it’s a marked police car… keep moving and be loud. And prepare anything that could be used as a weapon. Keys, hair spray ANYTHING.
@@JT-mg1my IDK about your area but large cities tend to do street cleaning late at night. In the city I live in, the streets are too packed during the day for them to collect trash from public trash cans, pick up litter, empty parking meters, etc. So instead, they perform general maintenance activities in the early morning before people are out and about crowding the streets. That way, the trash pickup and such aren’t happening when the sidewalks are full of pedestrians. So it’s not necessarily unusual for maintenance workers in a city to be working late at night or early in the morning. Just odd if you’re not from a large city ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Whenever you feel in an unsafe situation. TRUST YOUR INSTINCT!! don’t second guess it just trust your feelings because they are always right. Next time you feel this way start saying the description of the person you feel uncomfortable around TO THEM. I know that seems crazy but they will realize you are keeping tabs of their description and they will leave you alone. For example “Hi brown hair green eyed man wearing a white shirt and gray shorts.” Immediately call the police.
Note from a retired police officer: "Nothing good happens after midnight." You were right to go as a group and especially to move to a more populated area. It would have been great to get some video about this guy to include the car licence plate. It would come as no surprise if the Nashville police already know about him.
It's so sad that we are in 2021 and women still have to endure these kind of things... 💔 All women have a story like this. The first time I was harassed in the street I was 10 or 11, im 28 now and it has never stopped. Ladies, even if you're scared do NOT show fear, be smart and act fast
thank you for talking about this! esp for your children. teach them how to always be aware. If anything is sketchy to me I point it out and tell my kids why and how it could potentially be an issue.
Always always always have your guard up girls! Even in situations where you think you’re safe! Unfortunately as women, we never are. I was sexually assaulted at 15 in an AIRPORT by a TSA AGENT! It’s sad, but it’s true. We have to trust our gut if we think the situation is dangerous, even if the surroundings don’t seem it ❤️
Geeze girl. I know words cannot tell you how sorry I am for what you went through and that pain. I can only imagine how traumatized you must still be to this very day. You're in my heart.
The very first thing y’all should’ve done was call the police! At least ONE of you! Not to wait until someone else came. I’m so SO glad they dd come as fast as they did and the ease management was on your side not his! Hopefully they were able to ask that dude some questions. Ppl are sick!
I think that can be a little easier said than done. In a situation where you are caught off guard and panicked, it is not always the first thing that pops into your head (as logical as it may be) as you are scared and just looking for a way to get out.
I know this may sound odd but that sign that was by where you said the police met you says "333" and that can mean a guardian angel is nearby and boy I think that's true for your situation. Someone was watching over you all. I'm glad you're alright!
This happened to my best friend and I ..Sadly we didn't get away in time. We were brutally assaulted and viciously attacked. My friend was stabbed 13 times myself 9 ..I made it out that night my best friend didnt..The guilt I feel for asking her to come out that night I will always live with. I had just been dumped by my gf and I wanted to go out and feel better..my selfishness caused my best friend to be killed. I'm so glad you guys made it out safely. Stay safe everyone 🙏🖤
I was born in Nashville, TN and raised on the outskirts in Ashland City, TN. I also work in downtown Nashville. I will not go in downtown Nashville at night. Over the last 10 years it's gotten far to dangerous. I'm glad you gals made it out of this situation safely. Walking around downtown Nashville at all hours of the night and early morning just isn't safe at all.
I know that area. My daughter and I went to the pedestrian bridge last fall and the whole walk back to my car I was on high alert. I did NOT feel safe down there. So glad you guys are all ok.
Im so sorry you had to go through that Jess. Watching this hearing your voice shake when your on the verge of tears breaks my heart. Im sorry babe im glad your safe
I live in Nashville and last weekend we were out shopping during the day and randomly stopped at a local grocery store to use the restroom. I took the elevator up with my grandmother and what looked like a couple got on and the girl went to the restroom with us and my mom noticed she looked scared and she told us that the man with her had been following her for a few blocks.
It’s so important to be aware of your surroundings. It’s scary knowing that this could have ended in a tragic situation. You truly had a guardian angel watching over you. I’m so happy you’re all ok.
Jess I am so glad your ok, as someone who was attacked in High school by a male friend. I know how scared you must have been. Never go out alone, go in a group of 3 or more. Carry pepper spray Incase they come in close contact. I am so glad you and your friends are ok! Love ya girl
Nashville is scary! A similar situation happened to me when I went there with my mom and grandma. And it was in broad daylight. So scary. I’m sorry that happened to you girls!
I felt instantly terrified as you were telling this story Jess, I am so sorry that you went through this. Thank you for sharing this story. I believe its so important to spread these messages to others because you never know when we will end up in a similar situation and need to make some noise too. I love you and im so glad you're ok!
They already had an Uber on the way to pick them up. I would definitely feel safer having a police officer drive me home though over some stranger from Uber or lyft
As someone who has been to Nashville, the police don’t have time to help everyone. That place is more bananas than Vegas. They made sure there was no immediate threat and likely went on to the next call.
I am traumatized for y’all just hearing this story. Thank you for getting the word out and explaining your thought process during the whole situation. It really is an eye opener to a situation that anyone is susceptible to. Then you explained and showed the environment with timeline . I’m weary and observant in general, but the fact that you were with other women at the same time… wow. Kudos to Talia for going along with it over the phone and roughing it til the sun came up. I’m glad y’all made the most of your time left after that whole ordeal! And to Chris: hella props for being the best support in trauma recovery ❤️
So thankful that you all are okay! That is so freaking scary and I am glad that you were able to get away. Sadly this is a part of our world now and it makes me so terrified that something could happen to my daughters or granddaughter. My kids are in Colorado and in weld county and Fort Collins this is a major problem. They get tired of me constantly saying be careful in public but what happened to you proves my point! Something can happen anywhere and we women need to be aware of our surroundings and take all precautions to keep ourselves safe!
Human trafficking didn't even cross my mind until I read all the comments talking about how common it is there :/ that's so insane to me omg. I'm so glad you guys are okay regardless, and like you said I think it's so important to talk about it when stuff like this happens so that people are aware!
I live outside of Gatlinburg and one time was shopping in Walmart. I turned around to grab something off the shelf and my 2 year old started screaming stop. I turned around and there was a man with his hand out like he was trying to grab her out the buggy. When I turned around he hurried and ran off. Well I went down another isle and he was in it, I went down a different isle and he was there too. Finally I went to management and said something about what was happening and the had a buggy guy walk around the store and watch me while I finished shopping. He even walked out with me to make sure my daughter and I made it to my car safely. It was so scary.
I felt that when you said you were uncomfortable, I've had friends feel that way but be LOUD if you look crazy who cares. It's not your job to make people comfortable, it's your job to keep yourself safe. I carry but I can in my state. Even then that's last option. Trust your gut instinct, it's very real.
Last place I would go is right back to where it happen. Traumatic event happen to me in March and I used to go there every weekend and haven't been back since. 🙃 Glad everyone is safe
This is good…. Girls need to know these types of things can happen. Had it happen to me and a few of my girl friends and it was the scariest night ever. This stuff happens all the time ladies. Stay aware
My husband and I live outside of Nashville and this unfortunately doesn't surprise me! That's why I'm just personally not the type of person that goes deep downtown anywhere (at least anymore) around bars and all especially very late at night! A ton of sketchy people are out and especially around the Nashville area! Blessed yall are all ok and please stay safe! ❤
For me and my husband. "Remember that one time we took a spontaneous trip to the mountains for a weekend getaway?" we had an amazing time and went on an alpine hike, relaxed in some hot springs, ate delicious authentic Austrian food, and watched big horn sheep eating fruit from the trees right outside our hotel window..... then 9 months later I had our daughter :) Edit to add: My older sister took a girls trip to Nashville last year, loved it so much that she was going to moved there. She went back to do some house hunting, when she returned home again she said she had changed her mind, saying she wouldn't feel safe living there all alone, she only knew 1 couple there (that she had just met on the girls trip) but they traveled for work and weren't home much - they actually offered her their place to stay at while she looked for a job/house/etc. I am so happy she decided not to move there, from all the scary stories I fear what would have happened to her. She is far too trusting of strangers (like that couple she had JUST MET on previous trip) she is also HORRIBLE at directions and paying attention to her surroundings.
scenario screams sex trafficking!! completely! so sorry that happened to you. goes to show that you always need to be with someone in a group never ever leave anyone alone.
I had freaking chills the entire time you were telling us what happened. OMG, I am so thankful you and the other two are safe. I don’t want to think about what could have happened.
I was almost grabbed by a group of men in broad daylight with people walking all around when I was 17. Because I was aware of my surroundings and reacted quickly I’m here today. Now I carry and honestly I don’t go out for drinks. I need to be full aware of everything around me, and have an exit plan in order to feel safe after that what happy to me.
Jessica, I’m so sorry this happened! I live in Nashville. And I was walking the streets at night with my family and someone was following us. And luckily we needed loosing the person. But it was really scary. Downtown Nashville can be very in safe at times.
Nothing good happens after midnight. Especially not in a city you’re not familiar with and when you’ve had a few drinks. Go out for dinner, go to a bar and have a few drinks…no problem. If you want to continue drinking when it gets late, get some takeaways, go back to your hotel or Airbnb and continue there in safety. Don’t break off into smaller groups, stick together. Predators prey on those who stray from the pack. Let’s put it this way - if the locals don’t hang around those streets at that time of night, then you shouldn’t either. Glad you are safe. Learn from this.
I definitely get what you mean. I used to be so complacent and trusting. It comes with being a mostly positive person, who likes to see the good in everything and everyone. Please always share experiences like this. People need to be made aware to be on their guard and careful in their surroundings, because it’s a sad world we live in, and there are always people who like to take advantage. Thank you for sharing your story💖
Never clicked so fast 🖤🖤🖤 glad everyone is safe!! I’m definitely a fight in the fight or flight. Please get a rape whistle or even pepper spray. You can never be too careful babe!!! I’d fight a mf for you!! Also Grammy was with you and had you guy cross away! She was protecting you babe! Those things that we don’t understand at the moment are them protecting us
So, so thankful you are all ok. Shit is scary out there. You are ok, you all have learned a horrible lesson but you are ok. You are helping so many by sharing this story. It is something you should instill in all your children Follow your inner voice…if it tells you something isn’t right it’s probably not. I ‘m so happy you are safe. XO
You need to change to title of this video to something like "human trafficking is real" because you need to spread awareness! You poor thing my heart is still racing for you. I'm so glad you're okay. I bet that hug was the best hug you've ever had.
yes, it’s sad that us females always have to be aware of our surroundings and that we can’t trust anyone even if they are trying to help but we seriously can’t and i’m glad that all of you are okay ❤️
Did the police question this guy or just say "Hey, what ya doing out so late"? Anything? Maybe he had a warrant or something for kidnapping or some weird stuff.
Jess, I’m sorry this happened to girls. I’m in tears hearing this story. I’m so glad that the waste management guy was there. It seems like he was your guardian angel of some sort.
Thank you so so so so much for this. More people need to know these things (including myself). Sharing 💛

Agree with you on that
Absolutely! Never feel like a burden
I told my kids the same thing.
So sorry this happened. I’m a Nashville native, and unfortunately this stuff happens more than you would think. I know exactly where that spot is. Glad you guys are safe! Hopefully it didn’t ruin Nashville for ya :) it really is a great place to live!

Always share these type of stories, it brings awareness for other women, especially the younger ladies just experiencing bars/clubs for the first time
This. Or at bare minimum he was looking to rob someone. Either way, these people are scum.
I hate when people say, "so instead of calling the cops, you recorded?" We can do both! Scare them, get their description & their behavior.
Except that 1 video of a girl video taping a guy who was stalking her following her & he didn't care
That is not always true, a lady was followed in broad daylight while recording her followers who at points was in arms length.
@@AliJaeJR I saw that video

Omg this world we live in is so scary 😨. Fearful for my daughters growing up
Talias a real one for staying up with you after you went through that
He could also have been "hiding" but knowing you'd see him and run down a different street and be on the phone to someone near by waiting to find out what way you went to get you there.
So glad i live in germany in a very safe city. So sad to hear all your stories!!!

Thankfully you all stayed in your groups together. I guarantee that guy has done this in the past, and I hope he gets caught. Allow yourself to process and deal with it how you need to, it was a very traumatic experience. Thank you for being brave enough to share it so others know!
I’m so so sorry this happened but I love that you’re so open about this. Because seriously this is every day life.

PTSD…🤦🏻♀️ from what, a guy moving his car and walking up and down a street? Give me a break
Random advice thats a bank behind you, if ever being chased by a bank throw a rock at bank doors. Police will be there in 60 seconds 😅 trust me, way faster.
That’s smart but also if you break something I’m sure you’ll have to pay for it! So smart and not smart at the same time lol.
@@codimarie090 as long as we’re alive to pay for it im ok with that.
This is really good advice. And the noise alone will scare someone away
Police will be there if you call 911 instead of throwing rocks at a bank that may or may not be there.
Nashville has one of the highest crime rates, so makes sense why this happened . Never walk alone and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Stay safe

That sounds like a possible human trafficking situation.
Where in NC is it the worst? Or is it everywhere? And tips on avoiding it? I’m moving soon and want to be prepared!
2 times I was by myself and one time I was in the car with my 7 year old.
nc person here , i live in a very secluded area with a population of around 3,000-4,000 people . i'm a minor and my parents assure me that the town i live in is safe , but when you see stories (like jess's) it really terrifies you . thank god for my brother's interests , though , because when i go on a walk i always bring one of his plastic bags haha (only used for baseball) and when i'm watching my siblings whilst my parents aren't home , i advise one of them to get a baking pan from the kitchen and bring the bats inside . we also stay in one room close together , have the windows rolled down and the back/front doors locked . for people reading this , be aware of your surroundings . home alone ? get something hard or stiff . for example , if you have a long toy (like a toy horse , racing set toys , if you have a nerf gun laying around TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT and maybe grab kitchenware)
i am not perfect nor am i giving perfect advice !! but i am trying to give pointers for any young people like myself out there , or just someone looking for advice . stay safe guys ! i love you all and safety should always be taken seriously !

It’s so horrible but also so important that you had this experience and can pass this knowledge on to Lilia and Addie. I’m only 22 and I’ve had way too many close encounters. It can be so frustrating to have to explain to a male friend exactly why walking at night is so scary.

@@JT-mg1my omg that’s so true - didn’t even think that at the time - why was he there watching. Very strange x
For example “Hi brown hair green eyed man wearing a white shirt and gray shorts.” Immediately call the police.
i'm so sorry jess, I'm so glad evryones safe. Good Luck. The world sucks, I hope your okay.
Note from a retired police officer: "Nothing good happens after midnight." You were right to go as a group and especially to move to a more populated area. Geeze girl. I know words cannot tell you how sorry I am for what you went through and that pain. I can only imagine how traumatized you must still be to this very day. You're in my heart.
@@JustJesss thank you for sharing yours! ❤️
@@Ena48145 thank you. This means a lot 💗
@MENTAL HEALTH WITH LITTLE BUNNIEthank you 🙏
Girl I heard about this on the pod cast I literally was crying when I heard this. There is some nasty people in this world I'm glad your safe.
Thank goodness you turned around and saw him hiding. I hope this never happens to anyone again ❤️
My husband works for waste management! Not all hero’s wear capes.
First thing like Jess said would be to find a place that’s more crowded. They were in a dark way .
I know this may sound odd but that sign that was by where you said the police met you says "333" and that can mean a guardian angel is nearby and boy I think that's true for your situation. Someone was watching over you all. I'm glad you're alright!
Might of been Jess's Grammie looking over her, some amazing things have been happening since Jess lost her
Omg goosebumps 💛💛💛
When I see 333 I always feel like things will be okay. It’s like my favorite number.
I am so sorry for your loss & what you’ve gone through 💜 I burst into tears just reading this, I can’t imagine what you’ve gone through. 💔
It's never your fault, all the love
It’s not your fault. Prayers for you❤️
This broke my heart and I'm very sorry you had to go through this. Sending love your way❤️
If this is true, DO NOT blame yourself!! It was not your fault but the people eho did this to you
I was born in Nashville, TN and raised on the outskirts in Ashland City, TN.
I’m glad you weren’t vlogging - if you had caught his face on camera & he saw it, he might have gotten angry and escalated. 😳 so glad you’re all safe!
Talia is such a great friend! I love sun kissed mama
It’s so important to be aware of your surroundings. It’s scary knowing that this could have ended in a tragic situation. You truly had a guardian angel watching over you. I’m so happy you’re all ok.
I’m so sorry this happened to you. I love how Chris had a reservation for your favorite restaurant when you got off the plane 💜
My question is why couldn't the police take them home to the airbnb?
Covid restrictions.
Also, they could have been watching the area for the guy.
The police are not your personal taxi.
@@janicejeandron7239 what in the hell omg. That's so scary! I'm so glad you and your daughter are both okay, that blows my mind.
chris is so amazing to u, u deserve him so much!!!
The fear in your voice hit me hard. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Thank God for guardian angels💗
I love to see Britney having a good time she needs more girl time.
As soon as I saw you and Kyra on the thumbnail I clicked right away !!!!!
For me and my husband. "Remember that one time we took a spontaneous trip to the mountains for a weekend getaway?" we had an amazing time and went on an alpine hike, relaxed in some hot springs, ate delicious authentic Austrian food, and watched big horn sheep eating fruit from the trees right outside our hotel window..... then 9 months later I had our daughter :)
Edit to add: My older sister took a girls trip to Nashville last year, loved it so much that she was going to moved there.
She is far too trusting of strangers (like that couple she had JUST MET on previous trip) she is also HORRIBLE at directions and paying attention to her surroundings.
kyras reaction to realizing it’s the just jess channel really had me in tears 😂
scenario screams sex trafficking!! completely! so sorry that happened to you. goes to show that you always need to be with someone in a group never ever leave anyone alone.
Glad your okay 🙏🏾
Jessica, I’m so sorry this happened! I live in Nashville. And I was walking the streets at night with my family and someone was following us. And luckily we needed loosing the person. But it was really scary. Downtown Nashville can be very in safe at times.
This is a scary experience and it sucks what people go through j. Life hope everyone is ok!
So glad you are all okay, such a scary situation to be involved in. Please make sure you all speak to someone even if it feels like your ok 💜
Those things that we don’t understand at the moment are them protecting us
Same
You sadly can't fly with pepper spray so that's hard but definitely the whistle or personal alarm
That’s not how human trafficking happens🤦🏻♀️
Why would she change the title to reference human trafficking? She would be wrong to do that. She/we don’t know if this was human trafficking attempt.
yes, it’s sad that us females always have to be aware of our surroundings and that we can’t trust anyone even if they are trying to help but we seriously can’t and i’m glad that all of you are okay ❤️
Did the police question this guy or just say "Hey, what ya doing out so late"? Anything? Maybe he had a warrant or something for kidnapping or some weird stuff.
They didn’t really have a chance to because he took off by the time the police talked to us.
@@JustJesss it may be too much to ask but maybe a description of the guy can help someone in the future
@@aquamarineblue8690
I agree with you 100%!
Jess, I’m sorry this happened to girls. I’m in tears hearing this story. I’m so glad that the waste management guy was there. It seems like he was your guardian angel of some sort.
