The first short L&HR clip (not sure of the location) is before 1960; the rest of the L&HR footage is from the the road's centennial in 1960- the yard shot with #3 and #10 is at Maybrook, the rest are in Warwick.
It's been impossible to find recordings of multiple Alco 539 engines working together. I had to blend single unit sounds in multiple to get the effect. I'm not totally happy but it's the best I can do with what's available. Also impossible is in-cab sound with the diesel really working hard. Thanks to a PKP Cargo SM48 for solving that issue, as the Penza diesel is a copy of the 539.
Ah, those are GP-20 demo's. Neat! I've not seen those before, nor any Suzy Q footage & so many RS-1's coupled together either. That really is something to me. Very neat footage!
@@fmnut also believe for what it's worth. The shot of the 4 rs-1s shoving off their train with the diamond in the foreground is Sparta. They're shoving off on what we called the "Limecrest storage" which was then the L&HR interchange. Great stuff

I have fond memories of the old “Suzy-Q” in northern NJ back in the 60’s and early 70’s! Thanks for posting!
Some nice NYSW video that I had not seen before! Thanks!
Nice footage of vintage railroading!
Another gem, superb job by the sound effects department, give them a raise.

Always appreciate LHR, LNE and Q movies!!!
Four RS-1's on the move, great footage, thanks for sharing.
A first for me seeing L&HR. Great videos. Excellent work. Thank you.
Great footage as always, especially with the NYSW 2 coach passenger train.
Nice. So that's what a GP-20 looks like when new. Them RSs looked like they seen a mile or two.

Yes. The demos are noted in the description. Thanks.
You always find amazing film. With out you many of these scenes would be completely lost to time
Love those Alco RS-1s. They seemed like real workhorses!
Thank you. I had almost forgotten what a 539 sounded like.
I memories of LNE, NYSW, and L&HR!!
First time I ever saw all three GP18s on one train!
Wow, great footage, thx for uploading!! 👍
What’s that funny looking red car with the windows at the end of the train? 😁
thats the caboose
@@voidjavelin23No kidding. I was being sarcastic because you don’t see them anymore.
Believe the delivery of those Geeps was actually Passaic Junction (BT)
You're probably right, that would have been a longer haul for the Erie thus more revenue.

what a treasure! thanks
7:05 looks like KB Lumber in Ridgewood NJ...
Known as Midland Park Lumber when I worked there 1988-92. At the Goffle Rd crossing.
Definitely looked like Kuiken
I was curious. Did John Treen do any video of the Susquehanna?
Never saw any films by him. He did a lot of his photos while on the job, so carrying a movie camera and associated gear may have been a bit much.
@@fmnut cant argue with that, I work for a railroad myself and with these times I have to be a bit more cautious.
