  • UPDATE AFTER 6 MONTHS: • LG 6.3 cu. ft. Convect...
    I don't think I'd recommend this oven anymore. I've found quite a few issues with it after extensive use.
    The front edge of the stove gets excessively hot to the touch after extensive use of the front left burner. Hot enough that I can't keep my hand on it for less than a half second.
    If you make stock on your stove, know that the burners shut off after 12 hours, and this feature can't be overridden. This safety feature seems kind of stupid, since if your house hasn't burned down in 12 hours, it will probably be good for an indefinite amount of time.
    After using the oven more, I finally had to clean it. The Easy Clean function sucks, unless you enjoy scraping every single square inch of the oven interior. I much prefer self cleaning, which you just have to sweep out the ashes when you're done.
    The oven interior has hot/cool spots. I cooked chicken breasts a few nights ago, and had one that was 160°F, and one that read 120°F, even though they were the same thickness. The temperature gradient seems to be most drastic from front to back, with the back cooking much faster.
    Thanks to Home Depot and LG for providing a review sample.
    Home Depot: homedepot.sjv....
    Here are my thoughts on the LG convection oven, model LRE3061ST.

    Words can't describe how grateful we are when we find your video. I was about to place an order on this unit thinking that it will make my life easier with cleaning the top, as well as in the oven. Nope! Easy-clean is not the same as self-cleaning. If I have to clean "frequently" then I would rather buy a non-wifi and traditional oven with a flat stovetop. Thanks again! Wish you all the best with this wonderful RUclips Channel.

    Thanks for the review. I wish I've would of seen this before I purchased mine. Got mine for a 1yr and half now, still works easy cleaning. I just dislike the oven it tend to cook slower than I thought. Even my airfryer cooks faster. Because of this I dont use my oven much for cooking meat besides baking. Thanks for the review, something I will consider on my next stove hunt.

    I've had this stove since April of 2020 - 9 months - and if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have bought it. Nothing has failed (yet) but the "Easy Clean" feature is a marketing joke. Sure, if I clean out my oven after every use, it will be easier to clean regardless of whether I spray it with water, so the only thing that makes it "easy" is more frequent work. I have grease on the sides of the oven wall from using the convection feature ONCE that won't come off. It cooks unevenly with the back side cooking faster than the front and the temperature is about 20 degrees too hot. I compensate by adjusting the temperature and rotating the food in the oven. Lots of work for a stove that's supposed to have been "calibrated" and is "easy".
    I clean the cooktop after EVERY use, and I mean EVERY use, and while it still looks good enough, it should look brand new, and it doesn't. Ceramic cooktops are not the great thing they're supposed to be.
    Overall, I don't think this oven is great for the money. I think it's average at best for the money. Just a stove. It boils, broils, roasts and bakes.

    I was excited at first about my new stove. I have had it 4 months. I love the blue interior, however it is IMPOSSIBLE to clean.... even with oven cleaner. And the easy clean is worthless. I will never show anyone the inside again, as I can't get it clean. It is NOT self cleaning.... don't be fooled.
    The lower drawer is so shallow (5"), the front of the door is easily dented from the INSIDE if anything catches. I keep the lids for my pans in the bottom drawer. If one handle sticks up a little too high, when I go to close the drawer it dents the front of the drawer from the inside (single thickness).
    Also, the oven handle sticks out quite a bit. My drawer that is perpendicular to the stove cannot open all the way anymore as it catches the handle.

Never had a problem with that kind of stove. Also ... don't be fooled by the purple oven and it's EASY CLEAN setting. Aint nothing EASY CLEAN about it. You will be basically boiling water i the base of the oven then going in there to clean it yourself. Buyer beware.

    I was in Lowe’s today and was looking at it. 1st issue for me is lack of bottom heating element, because heat does not travel down, having the element at the top will result in uneven or undercooked or even burned food. Not your fault but those cookies were over browned. Anything like cakes, biscuits cookies you had better run that fan to circulate the hot air; if you don’t most of the heat from the element will stay nearest the top of the oven. Hopefully you have luck baking or roasting meats in it, but I don’t think it will be as efficient without an element on the bottom.
    2nd issue is the digital display/control panel: that thin sheet of plastic they cover it with, gets greasy and oily from cooking, it cleans good at first, but over time it gets scratched, smeared and hard to see through .
    Knobs would have been better with the display covered by glass. Glass can actually be cleaned with grease removing solvents , while plastic gets pitted.
    3rd issue is the storage draw. It is very shallow, because the interior of the oven is vertically longer than normal (No need for that especially with the single overhead heating element) the storage draw walls were thin! Just a bit thicker than roof flashing aluminum! And it moved side to side when I opened it. Not very sturdy.
    It’s a beautiful appliance and the top looks like it could do the job. The blue interior is great looking, but I feel like LG cut corners with that single heating element, and that cheap thin storage draw at the bottom.
    Your video helped me to stay away from this one.

      Use the "convection" feature for roasting beef, poultry and vegetables. Don't use it for baked goods though...may dry out your baked goods. Just bought this model tonight,had to return a Samsung electric range because it made a clicking noise every 30 seconds while baking.Called Samsung and they state that this noise is "normal" and is the relays switching on and off,but it drove me crazy.Anyway,I have a few questions;first,and most important,does this model make clicking noises while baking?Also,is the convection "true convection"?(Fan also has a heating element)The specs are confusing,one says yes,the other no.Hope that you can answer the question about whether or not it clicks before I get it delivered in three days!Thanks!

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  7 лет назад +1

      I hate to break it to you, but the burners on this range use relays that make a periodic clicking noise as well.
      I'm not positive about the convection question you had, sorry. It does have a fan in the back, but I can't see any heating elements around it (not to say there aren't any though).

      @Skwerrlly 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the quick answer and the help.Bummer..I may have to cancel this sale and find another bur first I wanted to ask a few more questions if possible.
      So the clicking occurs on the LG at the top burners and not from the oven?
      How often does the clicking noise occur?The Samsung clicked around every 30 seconds,only while baking.How loud would you guesstimate it is?Loud enough to be heard in another room?
      From what you described it sounds like the LG has the "regular" convection.
      "True",or "European" convection uses three heating elements,the third being mounted around the fan.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  7 лет назад

      Sorry I forgot to follow up right away - I'll answer what I can:
      The clicking comes from the burners, I haven't noticed it from the oven. It's about every 20-30 seconds, and can be heard in the bedroom right next to the kitchen, even with the door closed. It has to be quiet in the house to notice it though. The oven is more of a modulated "hum," which isn't very loud.
      Not too sure about the whole "regular vs true" convection thing - this is my first convection oven.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  8 лет назад

      Tons of stoves have a similar design actually. The only time it's an issue is when there's a tall pot on the back burners, but that doesn't happen very often, since the larger burners are in the front.
      What IS a bad design about this stove is the way the top edge is insulated. The front near the oven door handle gets VERY hot to the touch when you have a big stock pot on the front burner while making soup. I just discovered it this month - it gets so hot that I can't hold my hand on it for more than a second.
