CherryFrog321 I was introduced to this show back in 1996, and I've loved it ever since. Every now and then since 2005 when I moved on from all those VHS tapes and DVDs of the series in favor of videos from Greg Scholl Video Productions, Mark I Video, and Pentrex as I was just starting to get serious about the railfan hobby, I would occasionally unknowingly whistle the instrumental version of "I'm Madeline" from the specials. Sometimes, my dreams consist of myself, Madeline and friends, my dad, and the entire gang from "Ed, Edd, n Eddy"--minus the Kankers because no one gives a flying fuck about them--on an excursion passenger train hauled by a steam locomotive. Those dream excursions usually run out of Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, Pennsylvania behind former Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 Pacific #2317 or former Canadian Pacific 4-6-4 "Empress" Hudson #2816 to either Moscow, PA, Gouldsboro, Tobyhanna, Pocono Summit, East Stroudsburg, or even the Delaware Water Gap. Sometimes, both engines run in tandem in what is called a "doubleheader." The railfans love it, and so do Madeline, the Eds, and all the other kids. One of the highlights of ANY excursion passenger train is the photo runby where the train runs past an assembled group of photographers and enthusiasts wanting to take pictures or video footage of the train. Quite exhilarating, I must say.
and now as i'm finding your comment, i'm 24 😅 i remember this show verrry vaguely from the treehouse channel my parents would always put on for me when i was a baby. conjures up memories from my childhood home and being freaked out about starting kindergarten!
Five minutes in and they decide to sucker punch us in the gut! And since we saw Madeline's parents in the Christmas special, we're left to assume their death's were recent. That makes a lot of series context far more sad and impactful. On another note, DIC really upped the animation budget.
I wish Madeline's parents didn't pass away and that the man who shows up should have been Madeline's uncle Horst who does take her to his hometown of Vienna and to attend the finishing school he claims Madeline's mother went to and that he wasn't just an evil imposter who forced Madeline to make lace
Omg. I grew up reading these books and watching the show. A part of my childhood just came back! :) So glad I found this. I love France. Culture, language, history, EVERYTHING.
If they ever brought this show back I really hope they bring Andrea Libman back too. I think she had a lot of fun doing this because she learned French as a child.
Blake Kraft Not even Yvette is heartless enough to not care that Madeline's an orphan. She may be Madeline's rival, but she at least has the decency to feel sorry for her.
I bet her parents would be so proud of their daughter right now 🌹. She really miss her parents so much and she wish that her parents were here and alive right now ⭐️!
And I also wish her parents were alive I feel bad for Madeline when she tells the girls about her mom and how she doesn’t have her parents anymore since they died
I used to watch this when I was 5.. I just remembered this cartoon just now and decided to look it up. I don't understand how I got so emotional watching this.. I literally got tears in my eye, lol that's funny.
Pepito is the MVP of the whole movie for a number of reasons: when heard that Madeline would be leaving with her “uncle” kidnapper, I wanna say that he felt it was his fault she’d be leaving, with all the puns he made and bad violin playing (not that I’m any better, I’m more of a drummer/percussionist). So he tried to stop his rooster from the sun coming up (to no avail). But then he and the other girls, as well as Clavell, began to suspect something was wrong. Pepito basically led, or joined the girls in rescuing Madeline, and that genuine imitation shrunken head, the present he was going to give her, ended up being his best weapon in rescuing Madeline. And when that other girl traded her marbles for some of the beads for her mom’s necklace, I don’t know how or when, but Pepito got them back somehow, and everything basically worked out great. So yeah, Pepito is the hero and MVP. And if you don’t know, now you know.
@@maxm2317 it's a double edge sword. As much as I would like to see this rebooted, I'd hope they pick a good, more traditional animation style rather than 3D digital animation. The Bemelmans Family never really had good relations with Disney, so I wouldn't expect them to cooperate. They have very strict standards for how Madeline should be depicted (THANK GOD). Since network television is on the verge of death I'm not really sure they'd get much traction outside of a streaming service. Netflix has some good animators, but their writers have become married to identity politics and that's just not Madeline. Hulu too, and their service sucks. I guess Amazon or HBO (where the first special aired) would be the best options. I really don't know. Nostalgia feels so good, but maybe it's meant to stay in the past.
haha i love how Pipeto says "violin" thats adorable! and the animation in this movie is great but i love how it stays true to the original cartoons. :)
And now I must thank you for making me the happiest girl alive! I remember that I used to have this tape at my Beach House & my sisters and I would watch it all the time! That was when I was 4, 5 or 6, and now I'm 14. Wow. Thanks for uploading this full movie; I can re-live my childhood.
5:17 Madeline: *sighs sadly* At least you still 'ave your families. I have no one now. Gordon the Big Engine: *voiced by Thomas1Edward2Henry3; as the Thomas & Friends "O Face Sound Effect" is heard; utterly shocked* WHAT?! I can't believe that! An adorable little girl like you no longer having the loving care of a mother and father anymore? I'm sorry, but that's just downright disgraceful!
Hey, wanna read my favorite part? Kirby: (hears Pepito's violin badly) No, Pepito has done it again! I'm going to see Pepito, my neighbor. (flies over to Pepito's house) Hey Pepito, it's your good friend Kirby from Dreamland! Pepito: Hola amigo, it's good to see you again. Kirby: I have heard that Miss Clavel is having a headache all because you play that violin the wrong way. I'll show you how it's done. (takes Pepito's violin and plays it nicely. Then takes a bow.) Thank you. Now you see it sounds better?
I remember when I was a kid (about 9) I was watching this on t.v. and saw that Madeline was being forced into labor, then my dad made me vacuum, but when I turned on the t.v it was over already and I never got to see the end. ;( you brought back a missing piece of my childhood.
In the original books and and tv specials Madeline was not an orphan. In the tv special both of her parents are alive and they visit her at Christmas. Hoever, after the live action film adaptation with Frances McDormand was created Madeline became an orphan in all versions.
OMG!!! Ive been looking for this episode forever! I told my mom about it and she thought I was dreaming about this episode! And i was like i know i wasnt dreaming lol!(:
I just watch this movie, this movie is so sad but I'm glad Miss Clavel, pepito, and the other girls helped and saved Madeline and the other three girls who have been captured by those criminals partners who treated the girls a terrible child slave work as horrible child labor work forever!
My rating 7.5/10. There were some tough words and phrases that were hard to understand since many of the characters in this film speak both English and French. And the lace shop parts were a little painful but maybe you could imagine how you would have felt in Madeline's shoes. If you think the movie was sad as I think, maybe you would want to tell your friends about it

Finding Nemo, Madeline are my childhood movies. Since when I last watched this? 4 years old. Now, I'm 13. Gahd. This was my childhood movie.

Disney sure knows how to tug on our heartstrings.
I feel sorry for Madeline’s mother who sadly passed away *life is about greetings and departing*😔

Wow..I remember when I was a kid, how impatient I became while I waited for the VHS player to rewind this tape all the way...good times.
Madeline uses Nostalgia! Critical Hit! Huh...I remember the music more than I do the dialogue XD

This is Disney's CUTEST movie.
TuT I love this movie so much...
5:02-5:15 & 9:10-9:20 Madeline's cuteness makes my heart melt. She's just SO ADORABLE. Never fails to make me smile.
Saving this for my granddaughter.
