There is one thing I'm curious to see what you and Al think, but it is dependent on being aware of an event from New Jedi Order. Mace has a vision at one point, and there is a debate on the interpretation. The author has said it means whatever you think it means, refusing to make one answer definitive. The vision could be literal, and refer to an event from NJO, or it could be figurative, referring to the fall of the Republic, and rise of the Empire. I suspect you will know it when you come to it. Apologies, being as vague as possible for spoilers, but as clear as possible to convey my interest.
I've watched the replays of some of your previous EU book studies, but I'll make sure to read along this time. I'm also not fond of the "legends" banner. Fortunately, I managed to find an old hardcover copy of Shatterpoint a while back.
No doubt about it. This was the first of the Clone Wars books published between 2003 and 2005, and I got my copy way back then. I love this one. I started referring to Mace as Purple Rain afterward, because of that wonderfully fast Vaapad style of his. Depa Billaba, a character we saw oh so briefly in The Phantom Menace, is fully explored here. It's a very personal journey for Mace Windu. When I think about what Dave Filoni did to Depa, it frustrates me, all the more so because he already damaged Barriss Offee in The Clone Wars. It's like he didn't even read MedStar. Worse yet, those seasons of TCW were already Star Wars canon before Disney.
Wooohooo, a new Star wars book study. Im not really a fan of the Clones Wars or the attack of the clones, but I always found the Mace Windu character pretty cool and subtle. EU is the true Star Wars continuety.
I always avoid your book studies not because of a lack of interest but because I still somehow haven't managed to get my hands on those books, and I don't want to get spoiled. Probably not the best excuse, I know. Still, good to see you're still up and running Prof.
What a coincidence, Professor...I was just thinking today about Mace Windu being a good SW character, and how the "progressist" people literally forget about him...it's almost like was something intentional, no? My english is not professional level (or even average XD )but I'm going to try the audiobook anyway, thanks!
As far as I'm concerned, the EU IS canon Star Wars; the Disney tripe is bad fanfic and nothing more Edit: I guess Lando Calrissian's a white guy as well. L. Neil Smith apparently didn't get that memo when he wrote his Lando Calrissian Adventure trilogy (which I highly recommend)
I tend to call it "anti-fan fiction" because the people handling the property are not even fans. True fans would never drag the brand through the mud like they're doing.
Mathew stover is a great author who can really dig vastly deeper than most canon authors.
Looking forward to the upcoming book studies

I wish i had more time to read. There are so many of these i want to explore now more than ever,
Mace is my favorite Jedi character, largely due to this book. It's awesome.

Thank you, my dear!
One of my favorites, along with its sequel, Shadows of Mindor!

Just ordered mine from ebay. I'm trying to avoid using Amazon after what they've done to the Wheel of Time and Lord of the Rings.
You go gurl!!!

Just mixing it up now and then!

First three books are available on audible, unabridged! Audibletrial.com/professorgeek
Cool new avatar. Wish Disney hadn't canned the EU and then pretended it didn't exist at all(Thanks KK.)

Worldclass Bullshitters recently did a great video on the subject.
Bruh it's time to start using minoxidil to save your hairline.
Bald only works very few people like Sam Jackson.
Going for that Mace Windu look!
I love the Prof's look. He's quite the handsome intellectual.
