Splash mountain lap bars were added in 2012 to keep people from climbing out of the ride vehicles.
Tianna’s Bayou Adventure takes place on Avery Island. Anybody with any kind of knowledge of Louisiana’s history just had his jaw drop open in shock and revulsion. Using Avery Island as a setting for a ride is up there with using that abandoned train station and public shower facility at Auschwitz as a theme park.
During the Antebellum period it was a salt mine. It was, naturally, mined by slaves. The conditions were utterly abhorrent. It was little short of a death sentence. Slaves that had proven to be too much trouble anywhere else got sent to Avery Island as an example to others. Turnover was high due to a barely in control mortality rate but since they were known trouble makers the price per head was low to begin with.
So Disney replaced a problematic attraction with this??

I actually have to say that Tiana Bio looks really good in the interiors of the ride,, the ride has some great Decorations from flowers to colourful lights it’s so so cool 🌸💐🍃,, & also the Animatronics looks brilliant as well,, it tells a awesome story of princess & the frog 👩🏽👸🏽🐸

I love seeing how much you enjoy the ride Tim! I got to work as a scenic artist on this ride and it was my first major theme park attraction to work on and I was so excited to see how you felt about our work. We got to work on a bunch of awesome parts of the such as the mushrooms, mansion scene at the end, and a bunch more!

As a New Orleans native I really need the world to finally know and understand that New Orleans food and culture is Creole not Cajun. None of the food you eat in New Orleans, or that's from New Orleans is Cajun.

My dad grew up in the bayou & is Cajun. There are a few places in NOLA (one the Quarter) that he says makes food like his granny did. You just have to know where to go.

Came to say I remember the lap bars because they never held me in place I would always fly up - they were useless
They were put in because people would switch seats or get into the ride all together

Love the French Quarter!!! It was our favorite moderate resort to stay in. Also, mint & chocolate is BARF! I can not wait for our next trip home to ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure! I've missed that flume ride something awful.

Enjoyed this second review of Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I found a website that the lap bars were installed on Splash Mountain before the reopening on 02/01/2011.
I think the ride looks much better in this video than your first run through, maybe because the animatronics are all up and running but it also looks like they made the ride slightly darker so it feels more immersive? Not sure. But I think this looks fun and will be great for slightly younger kids and those that watched the film when it first came out ☺️
there used to be a lap bar on splash because i can tpull it down so far because of my prosthetics. Far enough but whoever rides with me gets a lot of room lol
The Poboy looks delish, and i wish that was there when i was there, I'd get that instead of the burger i always got. I love my French Quarter, and i hope i get to go back sometime, but no benyas for me.....

Did the ride close that often before the improvements? It seems odd there are so many tech issues.
So I have a question if it was an existing ride? Why are they testing it? What changed that they needed to do? These technical rehearsals in tests on it. Because isn't it just reskind as tiana's bayou adventures

They’re actually was a lap bar on splash Mountain. It wasn’t to Disneyland so that probably is why you got confused.

If Tiana is supposed to be cooking cajun food, tomatoes don’t go in gumbo! Now if she’s making creole food, she can carry on making her gumbo with the tomatoes.

At the time of this video (6/10 at 9:05 AM PST); if the weather continues to comply (lately it was been in the mid 70s; soon to get a lot warmer); the talk is that *Tiana's Bayou Adventure* could be opening in or around September, mid October. Really anxious to see if there are any major difference between the two. Also I am hoping Disney does not post a POV of Disneyland's version (if they do, find someone better film it). BTW is rumor that *Pascoe Bill's* will be rethemed to *Tiana's Palace,* if it does; the foods you showed will be there (maybe some new stuff too).
