I've had all my wisdom teeth out a few montha ago, not only because it was making my teeth crooked but it was also because it was causing me pain. The wisdom teeth grew under the flesh so it was impacting onto my molars but also the nerves. Everyone has their reasons, should believe that with the help of advice.
True, I got my bottom two extracted cause I needed to, but kinda wish I didn’t get my top extracted. I mistakenly thought they were all impacted so I removed once of my bottom, it healed and then top and bottom from the other side but forgot about my upper top one, then I noticed it grew out normally and got in my mouth. Turn out that only the bottom two were impacted, not the top. Had I not removed the other one (getting the top on bottom on the same side to “rush” the process) I would’ve kept both my upper cause they were actually not impacted but I ended up removing the 4th one as to not cause asymmetry. After examining my face though I know that it doesn’t have an affect on my facial structure but it sometimes upsets me cause it was 2 unnecessary extractions. My bottom ones did bother me though so those needed to go lol! I’m questioning what line of reasoning is correct since I’ve heard that overcrowding occurs due to people having small jaws that cannot accommodate the teeth that they have. While bone underneath may resorb due to lack of teeth, it’s not like taking out teeth that don’t fit would cause such resorption, no?
Thats crazy because at like 17 i was in the post operation block, ready to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed, « because i didnt have enough room in my mouth and they could become impacted » When the nurse came, i had the most profound intuition, like something that would happen a few times in a lifetime at best, and I knew i had to leave this place asap and not get it extracted. I just listened to this profound, pure innate knowing and just left. My mother was furious about it. Later on i discovered mike mew, started expanding with mewing, proper swallowing, some palatal expander ( i couldnt get mse unfortunately, nobody does it around where i live), and guess what all of my wisdom teeth grew perfectly straight and are now totally out Always listen to your intuition, when it happens to you and you think there is something wrong, chances most of the times there is something wrong. Hello. I had 4 wisdom teeth, but last summer I removed one tooth in the lower jaw. They are almost fully grown. Should I remove the second wisdom tooth in the lower jaw?
Did you notice any facial asymmetry (i.e. the extracted side possibly more shrunken or hollow than the other) and have your top wisdoms fully erupted yet? Sometimes after pulling a tooth in the mandible, if the upper has no lower tooth contacting it anymore, it can eventually supraerupt. You should probably talk to more dental professionals regarding the matter, and make sure to include a mix of both who advocate to keep and advocate to pull. I had my two bottoms removed & definitely would have preferred to see someone who advocated to keep them instead of my old dentist.
What about those with underbites? My sister has a mild underbite and her orthodontists recommend her braces but since her face/mouth was still in the process of growing, she had to wait it out. she’s been waiting for her orthodontists to give her the go for getting her braces but when she was around 16-17 they told her apparently it’s now too late…
u r partially correct the extraction might worsen the face profile ,that's why they do extraction only if the face profile is getting some improvement with tooth extraction
He’s right about it being unnecessary, new orthodontists don’t pull out teeth to straighten them. Most cases, even bad ones can be taken care of with expanders, Invisalign or braces. Older orthodontists are used to pulling out teeth for an easy fix.
My dentist won't remove a tooth unless it is falling out on its own. Is it broken but otherwise sitting fine? We'll fix it. He had to remove my father's teeth though, because the dentist before him decided to treat periodontitis... Which my father did not have 🙃 he just pulled 13 absolutely healthy teeth with his bare fingers, because they were so loose....
Luckily for me my orthodontist never pulled any teeth when I got braces, but my fucking orthodontist isn’t listening to me when I expressed concern about the occlusal cant I have. He says the bite plane looks fine but the cant is very noticeable in pictures and in the before picture the orthodontist took and probably in the x-rays too
You can get that thing that stretches out your jaw and allows more bone to grown then if teeth are fucked after that treatment braces to straighten them out doesn't seem like an issue.
I got my 1 molar pulled that was stuck and won’t go up and in my case I’m okay since that molar was useless in the first place and I couldn’t even bite with it. So extraction can be good. I had 4 wisdom teeth but they grew in a way that would have made them push against my other molars. Considering this it’s safe to say that it was good to pull them.
ask yourself why did they grow out that way in the first place
And that is what I call BS. My orthodontist wanted to do the same to me 15 years ago with the same claim that they will push against the others and mess everything up! Now 15 years later, I still have them and nothing like that happened. It’s just a cash grab!

I had 8 teeth extracted. But maybe I'm lucky because I still have 28 teeth. My wisdom teeth are the ones they're after. I want to keep them. They have aesthetic potential. Mewing hasn't worked for me but I'm going to try a different approach. I'm going to address my entire body posture, balance of fascia through MFR. That should transfer through my spine, neck, and finally face and teeth.
Can you explain what MFR is and how it works please. Thanks in advance
@Kelvin Gevers myofascial release. Fascia is the thing you feel when your "muscles are sore." It's the thing that has 6-10x more nerves than your muscles. It's the thing that gives your movements that elestic quality yo throw, kick, sprint, jump. It's the thing that literally holds you all together so that you're not a clump of bones, muscles, organs, blood vessles all laying on the floor. It's the thing that tucks you in bed at night. It you don't take care of it, you'll feel achy, stiff, have a hard time with posture, get injured easier, all kinds of issues can happen. Your neck pain may actually start from your hips. You "release" fascia so that it can obsorbe water, glide smoothly, be more viscous and elastic and then you can eventually chance the structure of your body. Fascia is truly fascinating. Learn more at Functional Patterns. Don't address one body part. Address the system as a whole. Move the way we evolved to move. How to wisdom teeth have aesthetic potential? Like make your face bigger or you dont know? Obviously removing them from the jaw is going to make it less robust
@@johnnyespalahento2431 I associate more teeth with forward facial growth. Have you seen models with cheek bones more forward from a side profile? And the lower jaw matching. That's very attractive to me.

@@fellooowhuman brother did you had an underbite?
I still need to get some ortho done cause I never did (I’m in my early 20s) but I’m kind of glad I never did as a kid cause I feel like with the issues I have, retractive ortho is pretty common and it would’ve definitely messed up my facial structure. Like, knock on wood, my face is pretty okay and most people don’t actually know/can’t tell I have some minor jaw and teeth alignment issues
Maybe old school orthodontists. Now they would use a spacer to create gaps then use braces to straighten them, no more unnecessary pulling
Definitely, the field is moving forward! But there are still a handful of people suffering from extraction-retraction orthodontics ):
as someone who had/has crooked teeth, they dont do that anymore, and often these teeth are causing pain, and, in my cade, cavities, because you can't clean there probably
I think my ortho is the only doctor that refused to remove all my wisdom teeth because they were not in a bad position.
I have 6 visible molars in my lower jaw 😂

i regret getting my wisdom teeth removed. I have a lot of space and it just messed up my jaw. I did it because pressured as teen by parents
they'll just give you an expander (expands the upper or lower palate to make room for the straight teeth)
Registered Dental Assistant here, Some People get pre-molars or wisdom teeth removed so orthodontic treatment can begin. If you have no space for your teeth to shift you'll need your teeth pulled. There are malpractice doctors who take advantage of patients for money but that's not the case for most people. I have braces and I don't need to get my wisdom teeth removed because my teeth weren't that bad to begin with.
Removing healthy teeth just so someone can have a nice business model of making a superficial appearance of straight, healthy teeth is barbaric. Where are the long term longitudinal studies proving safety and patient satisfaction? If orthodontics was held to the same standards as actual medicine it would have been shot down long ago.
@@flyondonnie9578 lmfao as if malpractice in regular medicine doesn’t happen but this isn’t common in orthodontics not even 20 years ago nobody i knew as a kid ever had to get teeth pulled for their braces this was common practice in the 80s, now it’s only really needed if the patient is an adult whose jaw is no longer growing and it’s done after they get their braces off if they end up with flared teeth if there aren’t other possible treatment options and they don’t want to get jaw surgery
Hello! I recently read a post that mentioned that after a tooth extraction, the jaw shrinks a little and I had a question. If wisdom teeth are removed, will it negatively affect the appearance?
Teeth removal is coz of crowding. If i straightened my teeth without removals then id have mad flared teeth
I had 2 teeth pulled when I was 10 or so than all 4 wisdom teeth because they were impacted. No braces an every dentist said it was a good choice an I have no issues. This isn’t a one shoe fits all thing.
When i mew my mouth gets try and when do i known that my tongue is even pushen to my roof of my mouth pls give me tips
When you open your mouth suddenly it does a pop sound, like a vacuum that for the whole tongue.
If it touches only the tip of the tongue then its a tisksound
I’m questioning what line of reasoning is correct since I’ve heard that overcrowding occurs due to people having small jaws that cannot accommodate the teeth that they have. While bone underneath may resorb due to lack of teeth, it’s not like taking out teeth that don’t fit would cause such resorption, no?
Thats crazy because at like 17 i was in the post operation block, ready to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed, « because i didnt have enough room in my mouth and they could become impacted »
When the nurse came, i had the most profound intuition, like something that would happen a few times in a lifetime at best, and I knew i had to leave this place asap and not get it extracted.
I just listened to this profound, pure innate knowing and just left. My mother was furious about it.
Later on i discovered mike mew, started expanding with mewing, proper swallowing, some palatal expander ( i couldnt get mse unfortunately, nobody does it around where i live), and guess what all of my wisdom teeth grew perfectly straight and are now totally out

Man I got braces at 16, My teeth looks nice when I smile but... I should have gotten a "mouth expander " with the while having the braces.
Since, at currently 19, I realise that dispite my teeth are aline and put together the tongue space I have it's to narrow, my teeth structure it's too narrow. So I'll get a mouth expander, so that I can fully expand my tongue and Mew properly, It's not a big deal, I have pretty decent jawline, but I want to make sure of not regretting nothing on the future.

I have 2 extra teeth i my front of the upper jaw that is causing a severe crocked teeths..... I am age 15 btw.
What's your opinion jawhacks should i get them extracted???? I will appreciate if you answer.
I don’t know man, there’s this guy on RUclips, the bentist, and he talks all about how they don’t remove teeth anymore very much
When i mew my mouth gets try and when do i known that my tongue is even pushen to my roof of my mouth
Hey JawHacks!! Now i've got a question for you tho:
If i don't remove any premolars will my jaws become recessed or will they remain normal?
what about pulling teeth out in overbites (not underbites)? isnt it more aesthetic to have the lower jaw/chin more foward anyway?
Well my mom had crowded lower teeth and had to take away 2 teeth to make space...
She hated the look of her face so maybe this is true?
They pulled one tooth on top for braces and my molars out in my 20s and now I have a major cant and issues with swallowing food.
u r partially correct the extraction might worsen the face profile ,that's why they do extraction only if the face profile is getting some improvement with tooth extraction
If you don’t want extractions either get a pallet expander or get self ligating braces like the Damon braces
But your face/ jaw is fine, so hows that true about teeth extraction? Did you do some other thing? Or did you just not develop that chin recession?
Luckily for me my orthodontist never pulled any teeth when I got braces, but my fucking orthodontist isn’t listening to me when I expressed concern about the occlusal cant I have. He says the bite plane looks fine but the cant is very noticeable in pictures and in the before picture the orthodontist took and probably in the x-rays too
You can get that thing that stretches out your jaw and allows more bone to grown then if teeth are fucked after that treatment braces to straighten them out doesn't seem like an issue.
As someone who has braces I really don't know what to do right now
what about clear braces? and teeth that have gaps and are stuck out?

I'm almost 23 and worried that maxillar expansion wont work and cause issues if my lower jaw stays stays thin. Upper teeth already overlap bottom
As a dentist with basic knowledge of orthodontics I would not recommend you to get maxillary expansion if what you claim that your upper teeth overlap your lower teeth because it will only make the issue more severe. Upper jaw expansion is done in cases where the lower jaw is normal and the upper jaw is small. In cases where the lower jaw is smaller maxillary expansion will only make it look further smaller
