- ** Update: Sadly, Parachut is no longer in business. One of the many casualties of a global pandemic. There are however other ways of renting our your gear for extra money. Make sure to check out websites like Sharegrid.com and Kitsplit.com. **
Most of us, especially us photographers and videographers, have a plethora of camera gear and equipment we're not using. It sits in the closet, collects dust, and does nobody any good. In this video I show you one way of generating some passive income from your old camera gear.

Haha! We could all use a little more fanny pack in our lives.
Are you able to keep the gear at home until someone wants to rent your gear?
I am starting a camera rental house. I can take your gear on consignment to rent out to my customers here in florida and around the country.
What happens if the company goes bankrupt? I haven’t heard of anyone renting from them in NY or LA.
Do you know how often you're allowed to get your camera back? Is there a yearly limit? And how long does it take from request to arrival at your door for your gear to come back?
Larry Marshall You can get your camera back as many times as you need it. Request your item back and as soon as it returns to the Parachut warehouse, they’ll make sure everything is in working order, professionally inspected and cleaned and get it right back into your hands. However, Parachut understands that you may need your items back for personal or professional use as soon as possible. In this situation, they would make every effort to provide you with the same or similar items from the Parachut warehouse to take care of your needs.
does it work in canada?
Thanks for the info on this. I subscribed. Do you know what happens if your gear is damaged when someone has it out for rental?
Chad Wainscott When you ship in your gear it is completely insured by Parachut. So you can have the pace of mind knowing that it’s covered and safe.
Thanks for making this video Lindsey!
Of course! I've always said I'd create more RUclips videos if I ever had time. I got a bit more time on my hands lately haha.

This is terrible. Almost 0 daily income. Not worth it.
Really sucks this company Parachūt went out of business, their setup was perfect for someone like me; I wouldn’t have to deal with people directly and they would stock it also. 😩😫😩…But I’ll check out the other 2 websites though.Thanks.
