Oh this stitches it together so well. Put back to back, it portrays him so seriously! Take out the sarcasm, the playful vanity, and his slow descent becomes a spiral. I like it.
Jennifer Lee said that Wish centres around the concept of the corrupting influence of power. King Magnifico begins as a benevolent ruler who is driven to build something aspirational after experiencing the trauma of his own wish destroyed in childhood. His transition to evil is the result of his own choices and when he is challenged by Asha he begins to show the flaws in his character. She said that these challenges reveal the nature of his character, "It's not your greatest moments, it's your toughest moments and the choices you make".
Talk about dropping the ball hard on such a fresh concept for a Disney villain:
starting out as a very sympathetic beacon of goodness, become corrupt with power, becoming the villain, and then possibly redeemed?
This theme fits Magnifico SO WELL!!!!
Fantastic job!
This is perfect
Ironically, this is leagues ahead of his official song!
I like this new villain he reminds me of Gaston 😂how he likes himself lol love it ❤😂and great job on this it was awesome i love Disney ❤❤❤❤
That is correct Magnifico represents Gaston
They say this villain became the magic mirror in the wall
I hate it
Writer Allison Moore says his motivations are not honorable, stating that "Magnifico seems to think wishes are just ideas. But they are a part of your heart-the very best part of your heart! Yet he's holding them inside these wish bubbles-hundreds of them-and most will remain there forever because that's how he controls the kingdom-by giving false hope".
i feel bad for king Magnifico i mean what if some villanes is hiding something in there hearts that heroes could not understand
This just opened my eyes, showing that Magnífico is not the villain. Technically Asha is the villain of Wish, only they put it in reverse so that we empathize with the "protagonist" so that in the end we are on her side so that she wins
Good trailer...King Magnifico is actually a good bad guy. I would like to know more about his background though. Just too bad his song doesn't really have a bad guy vibe (in my opinion).
This is great! 😄
uh shit it just hit me
he might be the mirror on the wall
It was scary when the king switched on Asha
If a hero of a tale succeeds in defeating the villain and he gets crowned king and lives happily because he made a paradise of a kingdom. Its perfectly reasonable to assume that they may act a touch prideful but they understand the importance of responsibility. Magnifico understood it but the plot needed a villain.
A magnificent villain masquerading as a good king
Only... he WAS a good king, and was made to turn evil for no good reason, just because the mary sue didn't get her selfish wish.
And his villain song was a light pop song. Disgusting.
❤
One of the big reasons why he's a great Disney villain, and in my top 3 favourite 2023 villains
You know what’s funny? This is much more interesting than the movie and it’s like three minutes long. They should have made Magnifico the main, not Asha. All his potential, just waisted.
So much potential down the drain
Yeah that story could have focused on his love for Amaya
@@robinleedy7828 actually I heard that they were both supposed to be a villain couple
@@kaicraft275 I could have happened 😭
@@robinleedy7828 and also deserves more respect and a better thanks than that.
@@kaicraft275 Yes
I'd rather watch this movie than the soulless, bland and uninspired live-action remakes.
The concept is fascinating, especially by Disney's standards, despite being averagely executed. This is also amazing to see a film that is not a live-action remake, which is fantastic.
I still think that the whole kingdom was just using him for granting wishes. You can see it when Asha asked him to grant her grandpa's wish: "People always ask me to grant them a wish." Honestly it would be very interesting if their roles were reversed.
I think we have a new winner here…
He surpassed Yokai as the new worst villain ever!
Iove wish
Did RUclips put any copyright strikes or warnings on your video for using clips from Wish? Just asking cause I've been meaning to make a wish related video but I don't want my channel to get taken down just from using parts of a Disney movie 🤐
Asha is the Villain she actually stolen Grandfather Wish as thieve
Asha knows better it’s not okay to steal Magnifico Wish
King magnifico was not giving the wishes back even when he did not want to grant the wishes. Asha was just trying to give the wishes back.
@@Celest87that is bad in and in itself
@@leonel392Why? She just wanted the people of Rosas, and especially her family, to be happy. Didn't she?
@@briantyler3474 she wanted that. Yet she didn't thought about the nuance of her decision. The path towards hell is built upon good intentions. She ruined a kingdom which was being maintained practically by one person by eliminating that one person, without his magic now they are exposed to famine, ambitious people and many other disasters.
😱😱😱😱😱
Magnifico isn't a villain 😢 he has PTSD and his paranoia made him make a mistake (using forbidden magic), but his greatest mistake was spoiling everyone. But I like the video it really makes him sound evil 😈. Unfortunately, I know the truth. 😅
Someone in another movie once said “your story may not have a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are. It is the rest of your story. Who you choose to be”. So I ask, what choices did Magnifico have? Did he make good ones?
@briantyler3474 fear is one's greatest enemy, and Magnifico allowed fear to guide him. So he made the wrong move out of fear. He is only a man, and we all make mistakes when we let fear guide us. He helped many ppl, and in the end, they all turned their backs on him. They gave up on him even though he protected them for YEARS. No homeless, no starvation, no discrimination, and it was optional to give your wish. Knowing your wish being granted was a probability like lottery and knowing you would forget it. He was an orphan who built a utopia for ppl not to suffer like he did. I think giving up on someone for ONE day of insanity is cruel. ☹️
You tried.
But he will always be remembered for this terrible writing, in a terrible movie.
Burn Disney, burn.
His Potential destroyed by Disney
@@kaicraft275you can join the haters and judge the movie for it’s terrible writing, but I DECIDE what Disney deserve. I LOVED this movie and it will be a Disney classic and Chris Pine is freaking amazing as the villain!
@@benelcombe6498 Yes Your majesty.
@@kaicraft275I agree so many stories could have been told
@@benelcombe6498Yeah it seems Magnifico represents also the state of the company
