I'm sure they have rules to make a skin feel like it fits in the Smite world dictated in their studio Style Guide. You mentioned rounding off wings, in this case, but maybe they did that because they had to change the rest of the skin and it needed to match? i don't know I'm just guessing. - They have to change things and go in different directions. They might really like a concept but run into legal issues at times? Copyright might also be an issue. If they have a design they might look to see if they can get away with it legally. That's a huge deal. - The other 2 skins you showed perhaps look too much like other gods and being able to differentiate the gods at a glance is key to gameplay. The snow one almost looked just like Skadi. Silhouettes must remain as unique as possible and if not they look diff enough based on stance/animation differences large enough to notice easily. You might think it's about skimpy but they have sexy and non sexy skins for gods... so I don't think that's a priority (Skadi for instance). - The number of requirements you have to hit simultaneously for things like I've detailed above have to be hit all at once. A hell of a lot of hands with different rules have to touch a skin before you see it in game.
Yea i get your point, but they just went too far away from the original skin, also they took a huge amount of time to actually get the skin out so idk. Her wings dont look like functional wings, they look like toy wings rather, suku looks like a recolor, and uh... Tbh idk, i feel like they could have put some more effort onto it, i would be glad to pay 600 for it if it was an amazing well designed skin, but well whatever
It's not a question of "does it look cool" but a question of "does it accurately represent the submitted artwork and concept" because if the answer is "no" then they shouldn't even bother trying to pass it off as a community skin contest winner but just go through the normal skin creation process without any voting or other steps that increase the time and effort when that could all be invested elsewhere (even if it's just making another skin).
Hawk Hawkissimo I think the guy who made the concept is about to suicide...The skin is different like wtf....why are you even doing the community vote then
I guess that it's nice to have some of your ideas taken into consideration for a skin introduced to the game, but the way that everything was handled is poor because HiRez failed to raise any awareness around problems that they'd face in translating the submission into the final product. The entire point of having HiRez art department provide an initial mock-up is to give us a much better idea of what we are voting on in the final phase of the community vote. Obviously, they failed at this and there's no real reason why that should ever be the case.
You can't blame them too much ... they give away so much free stuff to players... so few "fails" are not to be taken so heavy-hearted , by far the most free-to-play player friendly MOBA out there. (Just my opinion on them as a company in general)
You know , there are about 3-4 popular MOBA-s out there ... feel free to go to any one of them if Smite does not suit you , instead of bitching at every new patch , every new skin and every new change
I think people forget that Hirez like to stick sort of close(ish) to lore. If for example the skin that won made Suku some weird centipede it just would not work regardless of how amazing the skin was. I remember when people got super offended by how Kali was presented in smite with regards to her clothes and stuff. I think it's a great skin and we should appreciate the fact that Hirez even allow these votes and community skins to happen. Side Note: If you don't like the skin, you don't have to but it
I believe HiRez is biased when it comes to community skins. They choose the ones they like instead of what community likes. Odyssey S4 bias was so easy to spot. HiRez wanted Ullr skin so they chose recolors vs Ullr's model change skin
Actually the ullr skin was mainly chosen because big smite youtubers wanted it and kinda convinced people to vote for it. Most people on twitter and reddit I saw wanted the medusa one.
I was actually going into the T5 vote planning to vote for Jing Bae since she's my second favorite ADC behind Neith, but after seeing her's it was painfully clear that her's and Medusa's were basically just one skin with different color swaps....
I don't want to hear a word from this comment section until someone gets a computer graphics job in these comments. Like god dammit this is just the same argument as realistic breast in video games argument.
It does, but if you know the model will be too difficult to remain similar to the most voted then go for the second most voted and make it. The community wants something they voted for, if hirez can't make it then they should take the second option. They had 4 months to do this.
Difficult S.O.B. To Impress It covers up more skin than it shows like tf. 20% skin 80% clothing, Its you who's paying to much attention to the parts that do show skin and ignoring the majority that doesnt. Y'all are ridiculous.
it was very obvious that the shading details were gonna get lost, but people still voted for it. they forget it's not an art contest but a concept one. And being translatable to the game is a key component.
The feathers had to look metallic and be rigid because animating a character model that maintains a soft appearance while moving would be ridiculously resource intensive. You can't have "soft" and "smooth" with movement without it getting to be a heavy load. They trimmed the feathers, made it rigid so Smite could maintain high FPS, and added a little more skin (which was admittedly gratuitous) and that's it.
It's a good skin, and I'm still gonna buy it, but I do agree with the video. I had my vote cast on Immaculate Moonlight for the final vote, with Midnight Dove being a close second. I loved the primal look that the concept for Midnight Dove had, making Awilix look like a wild angel rather than the standard "heaven angel" look, and Immaculate moonlight looked like a Valkyrie, an angel of the battlefield with heavy armor and a fantasy sized spear.
i honestly like the simplicity of the skin at 4:47 "Crecsent Awilix" it looked elegant and if they really wanted to do the "sex sells" crap i mean it does achieve that factor but in a different kind of way... and there wasn't a ton of moving parts on it, only: one wing, the dress, and maybe the hair loops?
Yeah that silhouette is very different. i was working on a dios de los muertos skin for aphro once. she would have a sugar skull with roses in her hair and bird skeletons as her doves - but i never finished it
When you think about it they were probably having problems with the skeleton with adding all those features and feathers or whatever they are, i'm pretty sure they tried their best i'm sure. and i think it's a really good skin overall.
Meh. I think I already got inmunized to 90% of the godesses dressing like sluts. I get that they weren't even dressed in their original ancient art but... Athena with heels... Come one Low-Rez.
4:58 I voted for that skin and know tons that did too, may be kinda skimpy but it fits the angelic style and awilixes style more. Love it. Midnight Dove concept pretty good but as for Awilix eehh.
"Awilix hadnt had a new skin in awhile, that stood out at least" Her Halloween skin was awesome! Serqet is the one who hasn't had a skin in 2 fucking years! Every other god has had one between that time except Serqet. She's my main so it saddens me that Hi-Rez neglects from giving her a new skin.
Well to be honest I think they reduced the feathers as it would have made the model heavy ( file size increases) + due to increase in the face count while animation it might cause fps drop on low end system's they also had to consider that. They did change it alot but they have to think about the game 1st than the concept art/deaihn if it's gonna be to heavy to implement in the game settings they had to do the modifications accordingly
People voted for this skin and we got it. To be fair it isn't exact but like you said there are limitations. One way to avoid this whole animation hair/feather debacle in the future is to clearly state that hair/feathers will be downgraded because of limitations. Another way would be to ask community artists to not incorporate fancy hair/feathers designs but then you're taking away their creative freedom. On the whole sex sells thing its true and whats wrong with that? SOme women are sexy some are not. This is fantasy a video game who cares? Do I care that they made Herc be some hunky mother fucker no idc because I know it's a game and that Hercs physic doesn't represent the majority of men as neither do the smite godesses to women.
The "sex sells" angle isn't about it being fundamentally right or wrong or anything, rather it's simply how it relates to the changes of the skin and how High Rez's use of it may come off a tad 'overdone'.
Silther Sehost That's kinda irrelevant considering all gods have really never kept a similar look, they're always depicted in different forms across the eras, and not to mention that they're naked..... almost all of them.
Basically to conclude this situation. We asked for a pidgeot and hi Rez gives us a pidgey instead. Way too many art designs were taken off in the final art for this skin compared to its original sketch
Congratulations, you made it to the end the description. You are now one of the chosen few. Comment "HiRez next Awilix skin concept: XXXwilix" down below to confuse the hell out of everyone who didn't.
Lol the hostility and headassery, trying to make everybody conform? atleast it's better then seeing that phrase 100 times. Give him some credit for not being a follower.
I like Hirez design alot more. The original looks not interesting to me. The whole fairy stuff is not to my taste and hirez design wins in almost every aspect for me. But i admit that Suku looked better and more interesting in the community concept.
Just throwing this out there, but perhaps the reason the in-game model threw out the prominent "X" design from the original concept has to do with character recognizability, so that those who see an Awilix in this skin will still be able to recognize her as Awilix. Skins are great, but great care must be taken so that people still know that the character they see wearing a skin is still the same as the one without a skin.
"quite a few of them woreskimpy clothes. Shouldn't be surprised, this is HiRez here" Missed an opportunity to put that screenshot from that Kali video from like 5 years ago.
I would surely like to see these crescents over their heads to shine, not to look so faded. I guess it should've had more attention put into it, since it's almost like their attribute in this case. Also, I think that many players wouldn't like the more "feather" look, that was planned in the beginning. That's why Hi-Rez made her look more attractive and approachable for people, who wouldn't get this "fairy style".
The feathers might have changed Awilix's recognition factor, meaning that it could have been harder for players to look at this skin and think, "Oh, that's Awilix," than it would be for other skins. At some point, the designers have to make their skins look different, but not too different from the base model, and while I really like the sharp angles of the original concept art, it might have thrown people for a loop. Granted, Suku is kind of a givaway for, "Yep, this is Awilix" but still.
The skin conscept looks like an actual fairy because of the crossed in all direction wings whereas the made one just looks like someone with wings on them. Thats the biggest difference for me.
I love this skin. Edit: original looked liked a griffin type skin not an angelic type skin. Other ones were better but your right they should have just kept what people voted for.
8:26 thats some sick editing tho,it looks so good because of many reason i dont want to think and type about, you should make a tutorial in how to edit images like that :P :D
I actually still prefer immaculate moonlight It relied on effects vs textures, and i like to see those effects. The whole light theme could work very well, and then with suku being a lion adds a nice diverse change to the skin with out needing too much animation effects. Sad that this is the skin we got, and how different it became
Hey Duke, thanks for this video. I'm not the biggest fans of the new animators after watching the recent patch notes videos. Everything is sex jokes and it's annoying! I think they need to listen to the community more and not try to make all the female skins so scandalous. I appreciate your opinion on these matters. You have a great channel Duke. Keep it up!
hey man, you probably have people sending ideas for videos all the time. do you have a preference on how those get to you or where you'd like to receive them?
Am I the only one that likes the Hirez version more? it is much more clean in design, but still have the spikey edges that reflects the more serious personality of the skin.
You guys need to remember that it's a "concept" that we voted for. Not the finished product, the concept just leads into the finished product and it looks pretty darn good and looks like the original. Not exactly with minor adjustments but overall yes.
Hi Rez just said to our faces: "Welcome to the internet" Let's just think about it, people that are mature enough wont actually buy a skin for how sexy it looks. This is nonsense, actually, this is madness. I'm very dissapointed at the most recent skins and Hi Rez's way of "thinking". I wont be buying anything unrelated to the Odissey this year.
Duke, do you know that feaster bunny Bakasura was a community skin? That's what i've heard back on beta days. And great video btw. And maybe people after that will start voting on more beliveble concepts thanks to this skin.
I agree, they tried to make her look pretty instead of strong, they slicked the hair, made the wings look like slutty halloween angel wings and everything is too smoothed out. I hate when they do this in fantasy games, you can have skimpy clothing that still looks like a warrior, they literally do that every time it's a skimpy guy character. Like they always feel they need to make the girls look hot but her looking like a warrior can be just as appealing, everyone isn't full nerd thirst 24/7.
I like thos discussion a lot. But the problem here is really the paradoxon between what the Community want to see, and what hi-rez Can do, without have to get into negative numbers. There really has to be another solution or another system, with the choice of Wich Community-Skin they give us to choose from. I personaly, who does not use reddit etc. ,didn't even knew the original model. I think I am not the onlyone in this Situation. So I ask myselfe why they don't do it like with the Odyssey skins, and put an Information-Window in the game, to vote etc. (Sry for grammar mistakes, eng is not my mothertong)
i see a lot of people talking about how "sexualized women's are in videogames,HQs, XXXwilix, etc", but superman has got a 12 pack, hercules looks like he has hearts in his legs and arms n' shit it's just part of the fucking entertainment-industry
i just feel like y'all are really nitpicking, if you've ever worked in any artistic industry involved with the work of several people, pulling off someone else's artistic ideas perfectly is just unreasonable. And they let the skin go through because it looks great, and even with the changes, the skin still looks great, and artistically you can say it pays homage to the original art fairly well. When they have their style, it is sometimes better they stick with how they work because then they can confidently recreate it in a way that they know will look good, force them to work in a way that isn't how they work, and it might just look worse.
It's SMITE. These are gods. They're going to have perfect physiques. There are gods and godesses sexualized in game. Awilix being sexualized fits her character. She has a booty shake taunt and she wears skimpy clothes
I agree to a lot of the things you say. I'm not the biggest fan of the wings as I find them completely diferent from the original design and as you mentioned, there is allready so many sexy skins in the game. I prefer if they have more clothes on and/or armour. You can change things up more if everyone isn't naked :/ It's a bit sad to see Hirez going for the same style over and over. (the no clothes style)
"Shouldn't be surprised we're talking about Hi-Rez here" I'd understand if you were talking about the base model, but awilix's normal skin is already skimpy it shouldn't be a surprise that most were skimpy.
So true... I would have liked it better with less reaveling features. I think it would have still looked nice if it was more armoured looking. Still a nice skin.
I don't know, I wasn't huge on the original concept, but this in-game version is fantastic in my opinion. it was changed a lot, but definitely for the better.
The comments in this video and how the community is reacting, pretty much explains in detail as to why you simply ignore community suggestions and have your in-studio artist continue doing what they were paid to do. This sort of PR headaches for the company is just going to make em say: "Fuck it, scrap community skins. Too many people bitching and complaining."
if feathers was such a big idea, why doesn't hirez just implement a simple thing known as physic meshes. Meshes that work based off standard gravity and moves based on player input. Hell even a bit of jiggle physics would work for lower end PC's that can't do the easy simulation. A skin in the end should only be limited by shape and skeleton, which is why I understand the panther getting change in size (but not design). We don;t want things clipping much, and that would be par to the course when skins comes out that changes the formula, but the midnight skin was rather skimpy, too skimpy to be a problem with clipping, especially looking at base Awilix. People are saying that the feathers would of been a problem but I believe it really wouldn't. It was changed to be much more simple so hirez didn't need to do to much work. I think the original design would worked just as nicely, expesially if hirez went through the effort to at least put some jiggle on the ends of feathers if there is limitations, then hirez really need to make those limitations clear. Don't ask upn the community then change their best idea's. Let them know the limitations and you'd find how awesome and creative some people can be, assuming you still keep the overall design. Alternatively, work a little harder hirez. A lot of people gives a lot of money towards you, a little extra care can go a long way. In this case, its not like awilix became any bigger, any fatter, thinner, or wore any really different clothing. Things ad the capability to look exactly as its mockup counterpart, and things where changed to have an easy way out. If I was the artist in this case, I'd be slightly insulted to have something I worked hard on, be changed to the poin where the theme I agonized over is no longer there. I have made modifications for video games before, where it wasn't easy adding in new details to characters. I always made them work in the end with some sort of fix, by forcing jiggles or something, so I atleast had first hand knowledge in knowing that for sure 99% this skin would of had no problem working in its concepted state. I understand the limitations but I really don't think there was much limitations than the motiviation and energy of the skin crew in this case.
On the subject of fanservice and Smite, few things make me sadder than seeing Da Ji's concept arts. She had some seriously beautiful original designs but Hi Rez went for garish fanservice.
I aint got an issue. If you see my comments you may know that instead of getting more skins I am trying to get more Gods. I also suggested a Chaos Titan skin for Ymir and potentially Surtur, but they'd have to make Surtur first.
I think it's funny how hi-rez chose the elemental theme ullr when it wasn't the one that got the most votes. The one with the most votes were actually beastman ullr :/
As a woman I don't mind the fact that they made her more sexual, I love seeing sexual characters(no matter the gender)if the outfit looks good. But if hirez did want more skin they still should have put in more details, but still stuck close to the original design.
You do realize that Awilix base skin is in skimpy armor, right? That's why most of the choices were in skimpy armor, because its similar to the base skin. A lot of skins dont change up the armor type
They had the freedom to do literally anything, there was no obligation to stick close to the base design, the theme was angelic after all. I'd bet my ass there were plenty more choices with armor to pick from.
The community is a bunch of whiners, I mean even reading a few comments below shows a lot of that too. The skin looks fine even great, nothing to complain about tbh. In the end its Hi Rez's game and if they want a god to look a certain way more so than another that is their decision. The fact that they are involving the community to the degree that they do is great no other game really does that anyways simply because of there being issues like people not wanting it this way or that way. Especially when certain design decisions can cause exponentially more amounts of work when release date is important. Besides there are far bigger issues like god balance to worry about. I have not spent a dime on this game and have been playing it since end of season 1 I have almost all gods unlocked and have gotn a couple voice packs and even a rare skin in a chest all of which was free. You should do an everything that's wrong with the community video, you could start with how entitled they are.
It's not exactly the skin I voted for but, I still do like the design. I will most likely still get the skin I'm just curious how many gems it will set me back.
Still waiting for Pimp Fafnir and Chef Vulcan
Awfulmasterhat Pimpnir*
Cerburus nice
Awfulmasterhat Fapnir
I don't even play Vulcan, but I've seen the concept already and I need this in my life.
As for Fafnir, just give me a Jeff Goldblum Fafnir that transforms into a Fly Monster and I'll never ever need another Fafnir skin in my life again.
Also, how can Hi-Rez ever possibly resist calling him The Fly-Fnir?
Awfulmasterhat A Pimp Named Fafnir? lol god dammit now Im going to look up some concept art😂
why can`t hi rez make feather animations ? they did a good job animating every boob in the game
Joacy Neto simple harder to animate. At minimum that skin would have over 100 feathers which if you want them to look like feather they will need react to awilix moving.
Same way any animated show that hair sucks. Someone on youtube actually did an episode on that
this game needs a wider color spectrum to create better skins
HiRez next Awilix skin concept: XXXwilix
Biscuit man wtf?
You mean AwiliXXX?
Guessing it's a XXXTentacion thing
Her three makes the panther ride her.
Doesn't matter because she's Lunathicc.

The Hirez THICCification method.
I am confused. but only slightly.

I can't believe i wrote such a long comment. I'm not trying to argue, just want to add things you might not have considered :)
MrTickleTrunk at least someone with a functioning brain.

Yeah the skin took about 3-4 months to go through...
MrTickleTrunk thanks for your unwanted essay
If y'all think this is oversexualized you guys must live under a rock.
.... oversexualized relative to the original concept
pisses me off how card art looks 10x better than the in game skin
Ionic it looks exactly the same

Fallen Lord sucks so bad.
i love the fallen lord skin very much. Its one of the best skins in my opinion
Hopefully hi rez becomes faithful to community concepts in the future
Goko855 just shut the fuck up and inform yourself about how clipping and 3d animation works maybe then you can grow another brain cell

4:58 I voted for that skin and know tons that did too, may be kinda skimpy but it fits the angelic style and awilixes style more. Love it.
Midnight Dove concept pretty good but as for Awilix eehh.
"Awilix hadnt had a new skin in awhile, that stood out at least"
Her Halloween skin was awesome!
They did change it alot but they have to think about the game 1st than the concept art/deaihn if it's gonna be to heavy to implement in the game settings they had to do the modifications accordingly
suku's original feathery design, looks like the secret artifact appearance of feral druids but with different colors and glitter
Remember that Kukulkan Noodle skin that was real big around the time anubis won T5? I really liked that skin.
Dean simmons Thank you.
Dean simmons This is a person that has common sense. Thank you
The "sex sells" angle isn't about it being fundamentally right or wrong or anything, rather it's simply how it relates to the changes of the skin and how High Rez's use of it may come off a tad 'overdone'.
Yeah, I mean they overruse it for everything, sometimes even changing some character's physical appearance in lores to make them sexual.
Silther Sehost That's kinda irrelevant considering all gods have really never kept a similar look, they're always depicted in different forms across the eras, and not to mention that they're naked..... almost all of them.
This is the classic "I have no idea how something works (programming) but this is how it should be"
Basically to conclude this situation.
Mohand Fahoum you ruined the joke idiot
PixelThis that's the point
PixelThis Lol so hostile for no reason
Lol the hostility and headassery, trying to make everybody conform? atleast it's better then seeing that phrase 100 times. Give him some credit for not being a follower.
PixelThis you are so smart my man
I like Hirez design alot more.
I like how you point this out much love
Also, as an artist, removing the white from her gauntlets and dimming the hair messes with the colour balance.
With this skin use her dance emote
"quite a few of them woreskimpy clothes. Shouldn't be surprised, this is HiRez here"
Missed an opportunity to put that screenshot from that Kali video from like 5 years ago.
I like it, but i agree with you, they shouldn't of made the change, basically they took the COMMUNITY skin and made it theirs.
lol didn't know people cared this much about Smite skins
big whoop
The skin conscept looks like an actual fairy because of the crossed in all direction wings whereas the made one just looks like someone with wings on them. Thats the biggest difference for me.
I love this skin. Edit: original looked liked a griffin type skin not an angelic type skin. Other ones were better but your right they should have just kept what people voted for.
For the community votes Hirez should redraw the final contest votes so people can see how they will look on a skin before they vote
They did. The final three were all redrawn by the HiRez concept artists before we voted on them.
High-Rez : " Shit, we did shit again. What should we do ? " " Do another Neith skin " " WOW great idea ! "
8:26 thats some sick editing tho,it looks so good because of many reason i dont want to think and type about, you should make a tutorial in how to edit images like that :P :D
I actually still prefer immaculate moonlight
It relied on effects vs textures, and i like to see those effects. The whole light theme could work very well, and then with suku being a lion adds a nice diverse change to the skin with out needing too much animation effects. Sad that this is the skin we got, and how different it became
She basically went from a badass concept to a sexy rather dollar store halloween costume version.
this is one of the times I say I'm not a programmer and the do have their own art style the gave to keep up with.
How do you get it?
Hey Duke, thanks for this video. I'm not the biggest fans of the new animators after watching the recent patch notes videos. Everything is sex jokes and it's annoying! I think they need to listen to the community more and not try to make all the female skins so scandalous. I appreciate your opinion on these matters. You have a great channel Duke. Keep it up!
Oh yea totally forgot I voted for Immaculate Moonlight instead of this one...
Btw if they can do that griffon skin for fafnir theres no excuse with feathers here. Fafnir is gigantic also.
This video helps me sleep at night
hey man, you probably have people sending ideas for videos all the time. do you have a preference on how those get to you or where you'd like to receive them?
Am I the only one that likes the Hirez version more? it is much more clean in design, but still have the spikey edges that reflects the more serious personality of the skin.
Same I like it better. I just think it looks prettier than the concept.
You guys need to remember that it's a "concept" that we voted for. Not the finished product, the concept just leads into the finished product and it looks pretty darn good and looks like the original. Not exactly with minor adjustments but overall yes.
Hi Rez just said to our faces: "Welcome to the internet"
Let's just think about it, people that are mature enough wont actually buy a skin for how sexy it looks.
This is nonsense, actually, this is madness. I'm very dissapointed at the most recent skins and Hi Rez's way of "thinking".
I wont be buying anything unrelated to the Odissey this year.
Still waiting for the Janus skin
I dont think its a problem
cool bro
You don't create concept art for the gods in smite of course you don't see it as a problem.
do you idiots not understand the word "concept"?
Duke, do you know that feaster bunny Bakasura was a community skin? That's what i've heard back on beta days. And great video btw. And maybe people after that will start voting on more beliveble concepts thanks to this skin.
I agree and add that I have a problem with the hair compared to the original design.
The original looks wild. Ferocious.
The in game looks too tame.
Really wanted Immaculate Moonlight to win.. but what are you gonna do? This skin concept wasn't too bad.
(Sry for grammar mistakes, eng is not my mothertong)
wall walker janos is one of the greatest concept skin i ever seen
How do you get her skin is it through chest?
i see a lot of people talking about how "sexualized women's are in videogames,HQs, XXXwilix, etc", but superman has got a 12 pack, hercules looks like he has hearts in his legs and arms n' shit
it's just part of the fucking entertainment-industry
Hey
hey Hi-Rez
YOU BLEW IT
I'm still pissed that they didn't make a leprechaun Fafnir skin for st. Patties day
It even went down to 100 gems (the chronos skin) with this special sale that happened shortly after the release people were so mad
Heard about some people that actually got the chronos skin for like 50 gems
This wouldn't have been a problem if HiRez had skipped the theme part and just done playful spirit
i just feel like y'all are really nitpicking, if you've ever worked in any artistic industry involved with the work of several people, pulling off someone else's artistic ideas perfectly is just unreasonable.
So the second x in axilix has a sh sound?
I agree to a lot of the things you say. I'm not the biggest fan of the wings as I find them completely diferent from the original design and as you mentioned, there is allready so many sexy skins in the game. I prefer if they have more clothes on and/or armour. You can change things up more if everyone isn't naked :/
It's a bit sad to see Hirez going for the same style over and over. (the no clothes style)
"Shouldn't be surprised we're talking about Hi-Rez here" I'd understand if you were talking about the base model, but awilix's normal skin is already skimpy it shouldn't be a surprise that most were skimpy.
It's just a skin, let's calm down everybody
I'd like to see a "Scarecrow" Janus
His 2 could be crows
And his ult could be a pumpkin or something
(Obviously has to be T4 skin, but whatev)
So true... I would have liked it better with less reaveling features. I think it would have still looked nice if it was more armoured looking. Still a nice skin.
I don't know, I wasn't huge on the original concept, but this in-game version is fantastic in my opinion. it was changed a lot, but definitely for the better.
I do kind of wish that they stayed true to the original concept art.
Still buying this skin tho lol
The comments in this video and how the community is reacting, pretty much explains in detail as to why you simply ignore community suggestions and have your in-studio artist continue doing what they were paid to do. This sort of PR headaches for the company is just going to make em say: "Fuck it, scrap community skins. Too many people bitching and complaining."
what is this subreddit designated for community votes?
People will cry about something no matter what they do.
if feathers was such a big idea, why doesn't hirez just implement a simple thing known as physic meshes.
I think the original design would worked just as nicely, expesially if hirez went through the effort to at least put some jiggle on the ends of feathers
if there is limitations, then hirez really need to make those limitations clear.
I love this chanel alwais talks about really good themes i am wondering why don't have 100000 subs
Waiting for them to release that Bacchus bear skin fam
As a woman I don't mind the fact that they made her more sexual, I love seeing sexual characters(no matter the gender)if the outfit looks good. But if hirez did want more skin they still should have put in more details, but still stuck close to the original design.
Nice video and I'm agree with what you said here :3
You do realize that Awilix base skin is in skimpy armor, right? That's why most of the choices were in skimpy armor, because its similar to the base skin. A lot of skins dont change up the armor type
They had the freedom to do literally anything, there was no obligation to stick close to the base design, the theme was angelic after all. I'd bet my ass there were plenty more choices with armor to pick from.
Not to mention Tier 2's are literally armor/clothing changes
Gerami you forgot to mention that the renegade skin featured not one ounce of skimpy feature, maybe on the chest, but even that is not very well seen
Gerami Have you seen Amazon Athena? Nothing like original model armor-wise.
Gerami Hercules < Hunkules
How much is the skin?
Keegan Stickle 600 gems
Does it cost 300 gems for anyone else?
