I’m convinced also this game does not exist at all, the way they’re presenting themselves this entire time is obviously suspicious, they can’t give us one shred of gameplay, or even a cinematic trailer because they’re “afraid” of what people will think? That right there tells me everything I need to know, and when they said the prologue will be a “paid for” chapter and that the money will be used to finish the final product, is that before the game is even developed, during development or end of development? Lots of questions, no answers, and while this developer seems like they’re trying to be honest and transparent on the surface, that’s also just more lies. Admitting to mistakes, but still not addressing the fact they have no game to show for it. So I’m convinced Blue Box is a smoke and mirrors operation, reminds me of another smoke and mirrors studio under Nintendo that was supposedly working games that never materialized and was never heard from again.

I totally forgot who Blue Box where that for a second there I thought you where talking about a new Orange Box made by Valve. I got hyped there for a second NGL
See, if they were going to do anything crazy, their moment was last year when them rumors started to go around, right now almost everyone I've seen either had forgotten about this or is just rolling their eyes If making this whole deal was part of the plan to rile up attention m, then they jumped the gun too damn fast
Yep, I forgot about it too, I was genuinely surprised that I managed to remember everything I heard about it when Yong started talking about it in the recap
honestly, the whole situation and a lot of what they're saying comes off as them trying to do some Kojima style teasing but it got too big and they had to scramble to make an actual game it *might* have originally been a real game that got cancelled but now Blue Box are just victims of their own disaster where they have to make something to try and at least lessen the pr damage whatever it ends up being, i hope for the best but i don't expect much
Doubtful, seeing as they are forcing productions with menial work, ripping off artists, and even baiting investors using AAA IP material as a shadow to hide behind. I'd say complete scam / flop incoming. It feels more like they are robbing investors and then abandoning the game to run.
@@sown-laughter4351 personally feel like that's 1 possibly of what it originally was considering their track record and some of what they said came off as them barely starting production but they flew too close to the sun with the teasing and now have to put out something or risk somehow even worse blowback
Recently they tried to contact konami about silent hill, like thats what they always do, they ask for an apology and to be treated normally, then they build more hype.
Egg on my face if this take turns out to be false, but we’ve seen this play out many times before. It gives me Billy McFarland (Fyre fest) and Elizabeth Holmes (Theranos) vibes, obviously less serious though since it’s a game. An inexperienced, young personality that has inklings of talent wants to make a huge splash in the world like their idols, without really having the means to. Their heart and intention may be real, but they inadvertently string people along and create a con. I can empathize with the guy, he seems nice enough. But unfortunately, like the other individuals I mentioned, he suffers from narcissism. There will either be no game, or it will be released as a puddle of nothing that substantial. Watch - next they’ll announce another delay because they want to use the shiny new Unreal 5 without really having the ability to take advantage of it.
"The prologue will fund the main game" yeah sure, people will spend money and get nothing. Everything about the BB situation screams that its a giant scam. :/
it seems like he wants to get the money and then make the game? thats not how games work lol get a job for a publisher and stop wasting peoples time lol
SERIOUSLY Let’s go Blue Balls studio I’m sick of whatever this is. It’s gone too far, I feel scammed by this fiasco and I haven’t spent anything but time on it.
That's the thing that gets me, this is obviously a con of some kind and yet there isn't a public facing buy in anywhere? Investment from Sony or someone else somehow? You'd hope they'd do the background check to see the pattern of behaviour
Yeah nobody should even cover this crap unless they can prove they actually have something. Anyone can say they got a game coming but gotta be some type of proof 🤷🏻♂️
its annoying people are reporting on bluebox and the konami thing like the comparison was a misunderstanding and forgetting they set this up to look like pt and like a kojima game. Even getting caught using metal gear assets to promote the game before deleting the picture and other things.
Yeah, tell it to people that still ask why there was hype and attentions on them. For sure we were stupid at this point to think it was Silent Hill (or even a MGS) but BlueBox played a lot on this,I remember that just after a while they said "nono, this is not Silent Hill" while still teasing people. They milked the hype to get attentions and probably didn't keep up with the big hype around.

I understand him being scared of showing his work. I do a lot of 3D character modeling in Zbrush and I was definitely scared to show my work. I knew if I didn't, no one would know my work and I had to start somewhere. Now, I've had professionals like my work which is something that feels great.
This dude would be way more successful if he just made a line of merch that says “I didn’t expect that.” He shows every trait of compulsive liar/scam artist. The whole bit about him being “scared” to show any of the game. That’s just straight up pity bait. Gtfoh here with this guy. Just let him fade away into obscurity and failure and stop giving him the attention he wants.
Agreed Fugoo, and to add, in the last interaction with Yong they even started pushing the narrative of "people shouldn't (towards us)..." and "we deserve..." and are moving into gaslighting territory. As Yong noted, they're not Kojima. They haven't "earned" anything. They even are in need of proving themselves of trust which they have already destroyed with their utter lack of credibility before they even had the trust to begin with. I would expect that if content creators and journalists have any further interest and start questioning the credibility of Blue Box more directly in the future, we would start to see things like veiled or direct threats of lawsuits. If Blue Box is in any way legit, they've a long way to go and should put their head(s) down and get to work.

EDIT: At 24:48 It hit me. That's what they are doing. Or trying to do. They are hoping they pique the interest of Sony or another publisher to see them flailing in the wind, and swoop in and save them. That might genuinely be their long game.
I was beginning to wonder how things were going for them the other day. I'm more curious how Sony feels with them being overdue on their deadlines with delivering their game.
They've likely been canceled and defunded. Don't green lights allot of unique stuff, but this is a big stretch. No way did Sony keep them on after missing every deadline and now that it's obvious all of this was a huge lie
I think Blue Box should just come out with a statement that says: We're sorry for the cancellation of this game. We're giving up on the project as we've discovered we're not cut out to make games!"
It we'll be the first part of the message except "'we've discovered we're not cut out to make games!" will be replaced by: "We are now working on a new project." LOL
Why does it feel like they trying to make us feel guilty for some reason or put blame on us? "you don't understand" "we are not what you think we are" "you put pressure on us". What is that? If you have a product, release it and sell it. If you don't, stop crying and go away till you have it. Where did those people came from to behave in such an irrational way.
I don't get why they're still talking if they don't have ANY content to show, if there really is something they should have said "hey people we announced too early and we'll be going radio silent until we have something to show you", and then only opened their mouths again when they had something to show Imagine if Hasan had something to show today, i'd honestly have been surprised by them actually not being a scam, but instead he comes out with weird guilt-tripping statements

I'm an indie dev myself and there's no way I'd just start announcing any of the titles I was working on until alpha staging since they typically end up being used as shells for other projects. The fact that this "studio" was doing idea-guy announcements _and_ getting free marketing from Sony is nuts, just pissing all that goodwill away. I don't want to fathom how much money this guy has scammed so far since there's so many legit indie devs out there barely eking by who would kill for any attention.
I think the guy's record speaks for itself, there's no point discussing anything further once it's established he's a crook. Also, blame the video game "medias" for giving him an audience. The hype didn"t happen by magic.
Eh, it wasn't the media. It was normal-ass people who have tricked themselves into thinking this had anything to do with Silent Hill. These are the same people who watch videos where some nervous narrator breathes uneasily into a microphone as they zoom in on the spacing of the fridge magnets in The Shining, thinking that Kubrick was speaking to them beyond the grave.

there probably isnt any prologue, lets be real for a second, we would have seen at the very least a screenshot or even some concept art but no, all we got was a 5 second clip of a dude walking and some UE4 assets. sounds more like those shitty steam early access games where they just do asset flips and sells those ''games'' for 15 bucks.
The problem is that Blue Box doesn’t even seem to understand that they have no idea what they’re doing. Bringing further attention to their development status before they even have realistic expectations of completing the game is an utter waste of time.
I managed to find a copy of The Haunting that Blue Box doesn't want out there, it's... interesting to say the least. It's definitely longer than the Abandoned app on the PS5 store.

The fault lies with people for reading so hard into this and creating MattPat level theories about this random ass company. It was so obvious what they were doing.

Everyone should've realized a long time ago it was a scam. Their entire studio's history was a legacy of a bunch of scams. An entire graphic. It was insane people were forcing themselves to fall for it.
It’s weird, I’d forgotten all about BlueBox until just the other day. I thought I’d see if there were any interesting updates, there was nothing. The next day, this mess happened. Clearly, this is a conspiracy and BlueBox only exists if people are looking at it. Hashtag: Silent Hil1s by Hidetaka Kojima Confirmed. If y'all haven't heard the Colin Moriarty interview with Hasan Kahraman, I highly recommend it. It's worth the patreon subscription, but I imagine it's gonna be posted on youtube for free at some point because the interview is truly insane from beginning to end. Sounds like what common videogame scammers do, they try to make hype for something but doesn't want to show anything. Then after a couple of years of people investing in the project they just suddenly disappear or change name and start a new project.
Of course they were just random indie developers. I don't know how they got to be part of that playstation presents but the people who were doing mental gymnastics trying to say it was Kojima because the main character of Abandoned had a freakin eyepatch were genuinely insane
Still waiting to see that trailer Kojima was editing! Kojima tweeted that he'd finished editing the shortest trailer ever, this was within 24hrs of Blue Box giving us what could be the shortest trailer ever on the Abandoned real time app. Yeah that still hasn't been explained
This feels like they are trying to come across as the "underdogs" being over shadowed by big bad big industry and they have to keep barking (teasing/marketing) so that they dont become forgotten.
Indie studio with a history of cancelled projects and this new project is getting missed deadlines upon missed deadlines tells me that they will be milking everything they can. So I don't hold out ANY hope of this now "Prologue" version to be any good. They claimed a FULL release last year (or at least didn't mention anything about a paid pre-release) and only (potentially) releasing a cut down paid demo does not bode well. I don't have a PS5 but should they release this, or another game, on a platform I own, I would avoid it like the plague.
Ya know what this is remindin' me of? Friggin' Peter Molyneux. Just without the prior pedigree of decent titles BEFORE the overselling games that were, at the end of the day, just okay.
Yong: "This is something I'm not gonna go over, I've made plenty of videos about this stuff." Also Yong: *proceeds to spend 1/4 of the video talking about it anyway
"Stop tweeting start creating" ~Mori Calliopie - Off With Their Heads I believe Blue Box needs to take this to heart, especially with their marketing. It's probably their best option. He DESPERATELY wants to be Kojima. But then you remember, 5:54, they've been doing this for 6+ YEARS at this point... Ever since going solo/indie. Being skeptical of them at this point is MORE than understandable. The worst part is I believe that they CAN make high quality games. I remember their old logo, a literal blue box with an open top, being on one of my favorite games... But it's entirely possible my memory is wrong on that.
They gotta be a scam. Because of their history of not producing any “real” games and now (maybe) this one like the many others. They can easily make a game in Roblox and have it produced. Many people are doing that now. Something’s fishy. Lol
The dev is clearly too shady to trust. Everybody should do like the game says. "Abandon" any hype you have and accept the dev is incompetent and should "Abandon" development like he did with every project before it.
Yong is of course being as nice to them as possible, but I’d like to point something out: If they’re so afraid of putting their work out in front of the audience, why are they making the game in the first place?
Because he's afraid to get backlash when he shows the barebones progress they made instead of just releasing it and hoping that some suckers buy it to make a quick buck.
Anyone want to bet that the devs tease the prologue, slap a "part 1" on it at the last minute, try to charge $40+ for about 2 hours of terribly buggy gameplay and call it a win?
A game called "Abandoned" being in fact giving people out there the feeling of it being actually "abandoned" is the kind of 4D chess someone like Kojima likes to play, this just convinces me more that there is more to this story than we know.
It's too obvious the guy is expecting some naive guy/company to invest into the "promise" of the game to get more and more funding and at the end never release the game, just like Star Citizen.
I have a feeling that this "prologue" is their "main" game ,its going to be short and bad like some horror games you find with 1$ (no offence to the indie/new devs)
This Hasan is really depressing me how naïve and clueless he is. The dude should stop being mere news fodder to random youtube rehashers stop nurturing headlines on social media. He should fade into the background and work on the game. Then go to early access directly for people to see. He doesn't need extra exposition. In fact he has and uphill battle for this game and his name to not be dismissed forever as the sad joke of 2021-2022.
@@lordanonimmo7699 He's clueless about the fact that he think reaching out now and playing the genuine mea culpa card is gonna save him from further backlash. Nothing is stopping this train coming to him. Unless there's an actual something that people can actually experience, dismiss then move on in some undetermined time. Or he fades away , never to be speaken about.
I wonder why he keeps trying, though. Is he trying to get fellow dickheads to donate to him by tricking the media into making hay of his act and thus spreading word of his existence?
As an experienced Teaser who has given many a woman Blue Box, I have to say that you absolutely must know when to give the full release or they will start to feel Abandoned.
🤔 My impression of this game, I’m guessing it’ll be like Heavy Rain, a cinematic style interactive game but with a survival element, that’s all it seems to be that they’re hyping up. Or it could be like a Tell Tale game, has an interactive story with branching paths mixed with survival. It could be fun, it would be nice if they just did a simple presentation showing off the main character, what the game will be, maybe some artwork of what’s being worked on, just something to give gamers….well…anything. The fact that even a patch for an app is still not coming after all this time is definitely suspect, there’s just too many suspicious elements surrounding this studio. I personally think it’s vaporware, or their ambitions are so lofty and unattainable that the game will simply never see the light of day and the app will never be patched.
I remember them saying that their RUclips channel was hacked & was removed too. Perhaps they removed it themselves.... I don't know what to think/believe anymore 😕
@YongYear PT wasn't free. Kojima used a lot of funding from the game he was currently working on Metal Gear Solid V to make the demo. it was more or less Konami didn't know about it until it was thrown up. if i'm not mistaken this is one of the many reasons why he left/let go.
The fact they seemed to use a blurred yet visible image of Big Boss in Metal Gear 5 as part of their marketing is nuts and I'm surprised Konami haven't sued them (unless they are part of Blue Box).
It's never a good sign when a studio gives off Peter Molyneux vibes in how they handle marketing and promises.

I was thinking Black Box and thought he was talking about Skate 4 and got excited and scared, I need a new skate.
You were right, confirmed.
that’s what i thought at first also lol i’ve never heard of these people
Blue Box would seem appropriate for an Orange Box sequel considering that the original Portal was in it...

They should’ve renamed themselves to Blue Balls, because that’s basically their whole shtick.
honestly, the whole situation and a lot of what they're saying comes off as them trying to do some Kojima style teasing but it got too big and they had to scramble to make an actual game
it *might* have originally been a real game that got cancelled but now Blue Box are just victims of their own disaster where they have to make something to try and at least lessen the pr damage
whatever it ends up being, i hope for the best
but i don't expect much
Doubtful, seeing as they are forcing productions with menial work, ripping off artists, and even baiting investors using AAA IP material as a shadow to hide behind. I'd say complete scam / flop incoming. It feels more like they are robbing investors and then abandoning the game to run.
@@sown-laughter4351 personally feel like that's 1 possibly of what it originally was considering their track record and some of what they said came off as them barely starting production

I dont belive in that studio after knowing all their cancelled projects and their bait trying to conect with SH
"they'll announce another delay because they want to use the shiny new Unreal 5"
So this will be the next Duke Nukem Forever?
Also like #69.
And they'll be called out cause UE4>5 conversion is very VERY easy.
Bluebox are taking their game's title on a serious level.
They're seeing how long it takes for people to realize that the title's a scam admission hiding in plain sight.
It's just a scam at this point.

@@salvo27 yup he was basically playing up the hype up like kojima did with pt. Now his scam got exposed all he can do now is get free press and cry and lie on stream about a game that won't ever be finished truly.
I understand him being scared of showing his work. I do a lot of 3D character modeling in Zbrush and I was definitely scared to show my work. Especially knowing there is phenomenal artists out there and I've seen their works. Thing is, I had to overcome that and just put my work up on Artstation and just take the dive. I knew if I didn't, no one would know my work and I had to start somewhere. Now, I've had professionals like my work which is something that feels great.

He shows every trait of compulsive liar/scam artist.

As an experienced Teaser who has given many a woman Blue Box, I have to say that you absolutely must know when to give the full release or they will start to feel Abandoned.
I honestly forgot this game existed till this popped up in my feed. Brilliant work Blue Box.
Think he means on the consumers part. PT was a free Playable Teaser available to everyone.
The fact they seemed to use a blurred yet visible image of Big Boss in Metal Gear 5 as part of their marketing is nuts and I'm surprised Konami haven't sued them (unless they are part of Blue Box).
It seems they contacted lots of youtubers, as Dreamcast Guy got the same bullshit statement
