I really like that 1911. I like the antique modern matchup like hot rods with modern equipment. I'm going to look into that. I'd really like a pic rail for a light under though.
Just a week ago I stopped at the gas station and before I got out of my car I made eye contact with a gentleman. I was on the far pump and he was at the store front pacing infront of a pickup. As soon as I got out of my car he made line directly at me. I've recently dislocated knee and know my availabilities are suffering. As I stepped back behind my car door someone grabbed him and tied to get him in the pickup. As he pushed him away and advanced at me again I left the gas station. Thanks for all the videos and different scenarios to think about and practice.
This was very scary to watch because i have a 3 year old daughter and we go to the gas station all the time. I live in Ohio about 45 mins from Cleveland in a small town and there has been kid nappings going on for a long time now and also adult women all over ohio and alot in Akron and Cleveland. My wife and my daughter are always with me at the gas station so i really paid close attention to this one!! Thank you for the information. I will always remeber this video everytime we go to the gas station
I'm a newbie but one thing I noticed was when was approached both times not only was he using his dominant gun hand to perform a task but never freed that hand as he was approached. We all probably limit the access of our dominant hand without sufficient regard. Also, would it have been wise to not let the pump hose get between him and the vehicle access point? I agree with others about locking the doors upon exit.
Hands tips are good but I’m not gonna walk around thinking every bum asking for money is trying to stab me and not give money out of fear even if I’m feeling generous 😂
this has to be the funniest episode when he said the hose made space for him and made him make up his mind quicker cause there was no way he was making it to the door fast I laughed a little to hard on that one
Never been in any situation like this luckily. I have my conceal carry permit but do t carry that often. However I will carry occasionally at night when it is dark due to living in a nicer area of town. The only other time I’ll carry is doordashing not knowing where I’m going. However I’d also suggest self defense classes even if you are a guy because sometimes you don’t have the time to pull out the firearm if pointed at the head so being able to swarm the enemy without being shot is just as important if not more important than being able to stop the threat wirh your own firearm. It also helps stop the potential of shooting someone as the first instinct and just disarming the enemy.
Step number one at the gas station (or anywhere) is lock your doors! Someone could access your vehicle from the passenger side and they’d be in before you know it. May be grabbing your kid, purse, wallet, etc.
2 counters to your scenarios: You are a way lot more at risk of someone robbing you or illegally accessing your car than a random accident occurring. Vehicles have glass windows, break windows remove kids. In addition many cars will automatically unlock the doors if the airbags deploy.
When fueling up at a station I always try and put myself between the hose and my front door using both create space should I need it. That way someone coming around the front of my vehicle or the back of my vehicle has to contend with those obstacles but I don’t
A couple key points you could have made in this one. First is to lock the doors. This prevents, or at least slows unauthorized entry. I do this regardless of who is or is not in my vehicle. My kids know not to open their doors when I am getting gas. Second is to step away from the pump when possible. I stand about 3 feet from an opposing corner of my vehicle. This allows two things. First it opens your field of vision since the pump is no longer blocking ~120° of your view. Second is it opens channels of escape. This could make the difference between life and death as well as avoidance and deadly force.
