@@marcuspope7707 I think the thumbnail is the best evidence really. Backboard has lit up, but the ball is still in Cloud's hands and the defender is not touching yet. But in any case, it's so close so they should have just reviewed it.

@@nycsongman9758 no that is totally incorrect. The game is over the second the clock hits zero and the ball is in her hand. There might have been some contact after the shot but the game is over and it's a loose ball after that block anyway..
he was marking the 3, not calling a foul, and they didn't wave it off. That's how you end every quarter. The ball was still in her hand at double zeroes. Very lucky for the defense because otherwise it's a foul.

Why was that Sparks player contesting that shot in the first place? That could have been a foul.
she still had the ball in her hand at the 0.0 mark, Her shooting motion started at 0.1 and she was fouled at the tiniest bit of a second after the red light. So I see why he called a foul, but the light had already lit up so the game is over. Even if they would’ve reviewed it , they had already ruled the game over… & bc it was so close it wasn’t going to be enough substantial evidence to overturn the call so they still would’ve got the same result anyway whether they reviewed it or not. It was way to close of a call. & she waited to the very last second to shoot it, if she would’ve shot it a half of a second sooner then I think they could’ve made a case. But man that’s a tuff loss. Canada got luckyyyyy. That wasn’t a smart basketball play when you know they’re going to try to draw a foul as is. Good effort by Cloud to try to draw it and the fact that she did was impressive but sadly it was the length of an eyelash too late
The real issue is that it wasn't reviewed... if one ref calls the foul and another calls end of game then the next motion should be to review... especially when it can change the outcome of the game. But, yeah, the result would have stood.
I see what your saying but It was in the act it's close but that's a foul IF they count that shot then it's a FOUL. That's like letting the ball go at 0 and someone goaltends the shot, just cause it's after 0 don't mean the goal tend didn't count.
@@GmkSuperstars yeah I hoop I know lol, but because the actual foul didn’t take place til after she released the ball which was right after the red light it’s finished because she didn’t get it off in time, had she got it off in time then yeah she should’ve been going to the free throw line

So yeah it should’ve been reviewed, but these refs have been completely horrible in everybody’s games the whole season. They all need to go back to training

It was the correct call either way. There was incidental contact after but the clock already expired so it's irrelevant.
After taking a closer look at it, it could have went either way. It looks like the ball was still in her hand when she took the shot. As far as the foul, it looks like contact was made as soon as the buzzer sounded. It would have been hard to reverse the call.

After the Buzzer went off, Natasha Cloud was trying to tie the game! How could you not call it a foul? This is the same thing that happened to the Dallas Mavericks at the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 30 2013!

This is why basketball commentators should be required to read and study the officials Mechanics Manual. That is not a foul signal he made that’s a 3 point attempt signal! A foul signal would be a raised arm and “closed fist”! Read and study the mechanics manual prior to commentating basketball games! Also there is 0.00 on the game clock and the ball is still in her hands as well as the contact occurring therefore the game had ended! This is why officials are not only important but the most difficult position on the court!

It looks like the only one who knew what she was doing was the female ref the men raised their hands indicating a foul I wish the league would get more female officials it's the WNBA not the NBA these male officials are just awful game after game missed or blown calls I watch a lot of the games and these play really hard don't get paid much of squat but they compete very hard the last thing they need is these male dudes who really don't give a crap for these young ladies mucking the game up.
Home game against one of the worst teams (6 game losing streak), could have moved to the 4th seed, and make next year’s 1st round pick more enticing (they can swap for the Sparks pick next year).. and you perform like that….well deserved loss!
