As a man no one ever taught me shit about these types of care product and I’ve seen a ton of people use that mane shampoo stuff, legit it’s like a whole new world listening to Uki for real.
No one has told you because for the most part it does not amount to much more than snake oil. The reason why this industry flourished is not because it works, it's because people in general are uneducated and vain.
To be fair, you can use them as your physical exfoliator like once a week, really really gently. Although I would recommend just changing into chemical exfoliator because they are way more effective than physical ones, as long as you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. And you dont need to get rid of them. This is gonna be nasty, but I still use ives to this day but only for my feet. It makes them smell good 😭😭😭
tip: eye/under eye cream doesnt really do much, its basically just moisturiser for eyes, but more expensive. save ur money and buy a regular moisturiser that suits ur skin! p/s: u dont need to get rid of st ives apricot scrub if u still have a lot of them, u maybe can use them to scrub ur feet :) but there are a lot of more way better exfoliants in the market, so u guys can find alternatives ❤
There has been opinions going around the st. ives apricot scrub and this is the first time im hearing in using it to your feet 👁👁 might start taking notes.
Eye products are specifically made to be more gentle around the skin around your eyes, since those are literally the most sensitive, thinnest spots of skin on your face. A lot of moisturizers are NOT safe to use around the eyes, which is why you want to get something that is safe to put so close to your eyes. Obviously, research has to go into each company, but an easy place to start for a cheaper company that could be so much more expensive with how amazingly it works is The Ordinary. Make sure to read ingredients and spot test, as you should with every product you use on your body.
@@GoldenPeaches i absolutely agree! i think that it's better to use one moisturiser that can also be used as an eye cream, especially for cheapskates like me >< i also love The Ordinary, their products are really good and affordable
regarding the Apricot scrub, it may not be advisable to use it as it CAN or MAY be too harsh on the skin especially if you misuse it to physically exfoliate your face. Using it too often or using excessive force can easily destroy your skin as it is with other physical exfoliators. The scrub-y thing in that product is in fact made of apricot. If it really works for you and you think that the company's practices are up to your standards then please, continue using it. But always remember that there are other exfoliants in the market that are WAAAAAAY better than the scrub.
I love learning about new skin care with Uki lmao I personally don’t use face scrubs on my skin since it hurts and isn’t comfortable for me:D I’m so glad to have not gotten any of those products lmao💜
No literally Uki is so right. Any physical exfoliants/scrubs just like St. Ive’s are super bad for your skin. Not only is it damaging, but because of how abrasive these scrubs are I found that they also tend to take out moisture leaving your skin dry (speaking from experience). Instead, try and opt for exfoliating serums they’re much safer and just as effective 💅✨💜
i love uki, i relate to the feeling of exasperation when explaining skincare to friends/family (p.s. you can use up your st. ives for your elbows, knees and feet but still gently)
Funny but he's saying the truth 😭 I used St Ives Apricot Scrub and it RIPPED my skin to the point I had black marks all over my body. It was HORRIBLE. After I learned about skincare on TikTok, I tossed it out and bought new good skincare. Now my skin is SO MUCH BETTER. I'm more confident and healthier. TOSS THAT ST IVES THING PLEASE
I didn't know what he was talking abt until it showed the picture and I went "wait a minute... *I* USE THAT--" No wonder my poor skin hasn't been getting better omg
Never used a St. Ives face scrub and i know many people say their face products are not good. But their body lotion for the BODY is pretty good for skin in my opinion and from what i heard.
As someone, who only uses day cream with sun screen and night moisturizer and is way too lazy to use like a 10 step skin care routine, videos with people explaining how skin care works, are just fascinating to me. 😂
I laughed so loud lmao. I know these brand products but never used them before.I so enjoy hearing that when Uki mama tsk lmaooo Thank you for your clipping
Yeah my skin downgraded whenever i used st ives apricot scrub (i was surprised because i had it since it was viral back then and lot of my friends using it too) but now uki said it, it's kinda makes sense 😯
bro the thought of not only being able to afford skincare and haircare products but have the energy to use them is mindblowing to me. uki would hate my "beauty routine" because its literally just vegan shampoo and conditioner and a walmart brand face wash lmao
me, with absolutely no skin care routine whatsoever: just bare minimum shower, shampoo/conditioner, and sunscreen for summer (im too lazy and will forget.)
I made the huge mistake of buying St Ives mostly because it looked like it could really help with my skin. Oof. That was years ago and I'm so glad I've been using chemical exfoliant on my skin now lately. I always go for mild cleanser now too, and only do deep cleaning once in a while.
props to uki, man i don’t know SHIT about skincare, i use like…acne patches sometimes…and that’s it, and i don’t take care of my hair ever, i should probably fix that LMAOO
completely agree with the st ives comment from uki (🤮 we hate ms apricot) but mane n tail tends to have very great results for curly or afro-textured hair! i think it’s just a difference in hair textures, since the negative reviews i hear are mostly from ppl with straight hair.
I used st. Ives once in my life when I was a teen. I saw it in the shower, figured my sister (who takes skincare and makeup seriously) bought it which to me meant it must have some use. Put the tiniest bit of the apricot scrub on my hands and put on my face and instant regret. It’s an exfoliator but that thing was so grain-y that me as an inexperienced teen with skincare could tell this couldn’t be good for me.
Okay. Some physical scrub is fine (except ofc for st. Ives) if you have skin texture and all. It shouldnt feel like it hurt cuz you gotta massage gently. I used the one with microbeads that dissolves afterwards He'll be sorted in pomefiore if he got accepted in NRC
*glances at my mother’s st. ives scrub* Haha uh.. Waiting for uki to do a fashion stream bc while it rly depends on taste i feel like he’d have excellent tips (including how to take photos bc yes)
as an equestrian, buying mane and tail for my horses and shampoo and conditioner for me sometimes gets a little pricey, whatever is the horses is whats mine.. 😂
Uki was right, using st Ives apricot scrub really hurts... I once use it and I still feel the pain...it's stings so much that I never wants to look at the bottle again. (thank goodness I used it secretly, it's my aunt's anyway)
Guys, I'm a girl and I don't understand anything about skin care. I wash my face with ordinary soap, remove pimples, and smear baby creams. And do you know what my classmates tell me? Something in the likeness: "God, what kind of oil do you use?? What kind of tonic is this?? " Dude, my skin teacher was grandma, what are you talking about😳😳
Ngl, I am sorry Uki mama, but I believe skincare for the average person is a useless hoax 😅 There are some ppl with skin conditions or heavy acne, but they need to use special products anyways. My personal skin care routine is to wash my face with water in the morning, then I feel my hands picking up the face grease so I wash my hands with soap and then with the clean hands I wash my face again with water. I repeat that a few times until it's not greasy anymore. Probably the most sensitive yet easiest wash you can do. And if I have a pimple due to me getting my period, I put teatree oil on it and it will stop it from growing and it will be gone quickly. Aint no way I am spending all that time and money on putting a million things on my skin when it's just fine 😅 but that's probably a hot take.
in general, people who are into skincare would steer clear of scrubs and use chemical exfoliators instead (ex. cosrx bha blackhead power liquid) but of course, what products to use will still depend on someone's skin type
Uki mama, I am here to give out my biggest sadist sorry ever. I have been using Mane-n-Tail shampoo, As an gal whom has been riding for 5 years now that shampoo has been my backup at shows if I forget to brign my shampoo. I am deeply sorry and I hope this message gets out to you.
Yeah, please don't use St. Ives apricot scrub, it's not really good...I used it once and my skin was so dry and very itchy, I thought it was allergy but nooooo the scrub really made my skin dry
This goes without saying, but watch the VOD for more skin and hair care advice from Ukimama. 💜 Link is in the description.

I have sensitive skin and dont know about skin care, but my older sister gave me toner for me to use. Im also trying to learn about skincare too

yes get a chemical exfoliant, it's so much safer and effective. Also NEVER use a scrub on your face, use a mask or a chemical scrub.
