- Entering the gates of Waterdeep, the height of those towering walls shelter you from the relentless beat of the summer sun. You have done your research on the city, know all the best places to go and to avoid, what wondrous sights to see and even a little of its history.
The city of Splendors is ripe for the taking, your taking - but, you know you won’t rise to greatness without a few friends along the way. Think carefully about what alliances you choose to make, for in Waterdeep, reputation is everything.
In this video we look at the Lore of Waterdeep the city of splendors and the factions it holds! This can be used as an introduction for players to Factions along with to help DMs in learning them ahead of running Waterdeep: Dragon Heist.

I have a lawful good harper changeling rogue spy who specializes in avoiding combat and information gathering
As a DM planning to run Dragon Heist (eventually), this will be a great video to show players interested in joining a faction

It's something that as someone playing Dragon Heist I had to really try tiptoe around to not hit spoilers so I thought it would be good to do a video on them! Luckily my DM wrote the script on this one! That way I can know its 100% non-spoiler haha

@@BobWorldBuilder I believe not! It's not where we got it from either way! The majority of the scripts we do rarely ever take direct quotes! The aim is to make it more narrative and storytelling esc when we do the scripts!

I'm currently running it, and most of the players are new. It's my second time starting to run the module as the last party fell to schedule issues. Needless to say, I'm absorbing as much as I can. And that includes your videos, Bob. But for inspiration and love of your style, etc. Been playing and DMing for too long, and it's in my family history too. Anyway, I appreciate you Bob and of course @Hollow Tale too, Thanks both!
Awesome video, can’t wait to show it to my party to get them ready for chapter two in dragon heist. Probably the only lore video out there I’m comfortable showing my players since this one actually takes caution of spoilers

This was super helpful for me setting up some factions in my own game thank you!! I hope you have not given up on lore videos for d&d
It would be really helpful to add the names of the faction next to their faction symbol so we can easily identify them. Unless you are listening carefully you can easily miss the name of the faction especially if you're doing something else while listening to this.
Good video. Names of factions in writing during video would have been nice
My Drow players (and one Moon Elf) are entangled with Eilistraee. They're already in (or about to have) talks with the Harpers so I need to find lore on them.

what if i made a faction of dragonkin that are scared of feral dragons
called the feral hunters
they hate the Harpers for spying on there empire
finding out there draconic in nature which causes attack raids from the harpers
the feral hunters send out kill teams in large numbers of elite dragon infantry
that use field cannon artillery carried by ground drakes
that act like horses
with attack drakes the size of dogs with magic tech armor on
all there troops have magic tech armor made of diamond and iron and also have mines that are full red stone ore a ore
that makes all there tech work they have clock work anthro dragon bots that mine for the stuff
with drills and pickaxes mounted to there arms
and also attack back with molten breath attack it spits lava at you
they will also attack kobolds on sight also feral dragons and harpers will be terminated feral hunter dragonkin have a hard
time with kobolds the cult of the dragon send to attack there mines with one feral dragon leading the horde of bolds they are
also godless dragon people they dont even know who tiamat or behamut are there just a myth to there people the clock
work
bots have dead feral hunters souls inside them from the dragon men and women who died of old age sickness and war
