Thank you so very much! January tends to be a bit slow with Chinese suppliers. Especially with their New Year celebration. Then, add the Coronavirus in February --- and... you know the rest! I'm actually planning on two more reviews in the next few weeks.
The 18650 is 18mm wide and 65.0mm high The 21700 is 21mm wide and 70.0mm high The same format is used for button cell batteries, like: CR2032 which is 20mm wide and 3.2mm high
The perfect torch for search & rescue, law enforcement, security guards. The turbo mode it's crazy bright for a small light but I'm sure it gets hot fast. If you're mostly indoors, you don't need more than 1000 lumens and a smaller flashlight, like the Nitecore TUP might be more practical.
Thank you for the video. I have this flashlight. I would like to point out that although it is rated at 4400l lm, it is also rated at 11,100 cd (intensity). By comparison, the ThruNite TC-15 is rated at 2300 lm and 15,200 cd. Therefore, the ThruNite appears brighter (or more intense) to the eye. Personally, I prefer the Olight M2R Pro Warrior to both for various reasons, including longer throw (300m), more than double the intensity of the Nitecore (22,400 cd), less light in ‘moon’ mode (1 lm, vice 2 lm for Nitecore), a more user friendly UI, longer throw, and greater run times in general. Of course there are also a couple - some would say a few - negatives for the M2R Pro, including a proprietary 21700 battery and yes, it costs more ($119.00). That said, I consider it to be EDC ready as well, even though it has more tactical features (e.g., tactical tail switch, crenelated bezel, strobe) because it is smaller in length compared to many other flashlights in its class. I own all three flashlights. I’m considering returning the E4K 4400 because of the information above and also because I prefer more of a spot beam than a flood, or at least more spot than the E4K offers. Good light for EDC though depending on your needs.
You make some very good arguments...and points. I like both lights, and am quite satisfied with the floodier beam of the Nitecore. As I always say...to each his own.
Just when I thought Olight seeker 2 was extremely bright I come to this flashlight 4400 Lumens. Is there really a big difference in brightness? Back in the late 1970s and early 80s the fladhlights back then were bright 35 lumens when we thought wow that's so bright! Great review!
I didn't review the Seeker2, but the E4K is definitely a bright little light! No doubt LED's have shaken up the flashlight world, from the old fashioned incandescent lights we used growing up.
Yes....but the problem is battery length. The provided Nitecore cell, is 76.93mm long. A standard (flat-top) 21700 is 70.24mm... which is TOO short and won't work! The only other 21700 that I have found WILL work, is an Olight, which is 75.25mm.
You can access the special modes from tactical or normal mode by triple pressing the button when the light is on. The only difference between normal and tactical as far as I can tell is the triple press from off. Normal will go to turbo and tactical will go to strobe.
Tactical turbo is achieved by a holding press from any mode. Releasing it returns to previous mode. A triple click always engages strobe, regardless if it's on or off.
@@Lightsngear If you triple press from off in daily mode it engages turbo not strobe. Strobe and the other special modes can be accessed from either daily OR tactical mode by triple pressing when the light is already on.
My bad! When I read your initial comment...I had forgotten about the two interfaces! To me, they aren't unique enough from each other to be memorable. My choice is "daily mode" and that's where I've left it ever since using it for the first time. Thanks for clarifying.
The packaging screams Home Depot or retail store packaging to me. I know it doesn't necessarily me junk inside. It's just flashy catch a customers eye packaging. That always made things seem cheap to me. I'm biased I guess.
"Terrible" is a bit strong...although that's your opinion. I've gotten used to double-clicking it, when turning it on in the house late at night...which activates ultra-low. Or a holding press for the last mode used, then a double-click to advance the mode. I know it's a bit different, and it kind of reminds me (a bit) of their "Concept 1" model.
Cool light , and thanks for the review. I haven't seen you on RUclips in a while. But just letting you know I enjoy all your videos.

Thanks for the tid bit about button cells. I never knew that and now it all makes so much more sense.

Yes, the TUP is a nice little light. Meanwhile low and medium on the E4K are perfect indoors.
Nice Vid..
Fenix PD36R / PD40R or E4K? thoughts?
My E4K Switch is not functional. The product is new. What could be wrong?
If the switch is clearly not functioning -- or faulty, you would need to contact the person (merchant) you bought it from.

Lightsngear Absolutely! Freedom of choice is a beautiful thing. 😊
Have you compared these to the Fenix PD36R or PD40R? Thoughts?

Will a 21700 without the build in usb charge port work with the E4K?

@@Lightsngear no worries, I liked the review. E4k is a pretty awesome little light.
hello my friend nitecore e4k in high mode (1050 lumens) 3 hours 15 minutes continuous 1050 lumens? Or will it subside after a few minutes? Thanks
Hi -- I haven't timed it, but Nitecore's claim is meant to stand. The only shorter runtime mode is turbo.
@@Lightsngear thank you friend😇👍
How long does it take to step down from turbo?
It actually makes a small drop in output after about 22 seconds, then holds about 2 minutes before a secondary dip.
Where does type C plugin on this product
The USB charging port is on the BATTERY, not on the light itself.

That's your perception and you're entitled to it. It's not something that had ever occurred to me however.
Could have been such a great light, a great EDC even. Too bad the UI is terrible.
