I greatly prefer working from home, for so many reasons. It's easier to focus (less noise from others), I get 2 hours of my life back every day by not having to commute, I don't have to go outside in these cold winter months, I can be comfortable, I can sing to myself, and at least 5 more reasons haha
Same! I never want to go back to the office.
Same girl ive been working from home for the last 3 years and find it so much more efficient and no more BS office politics to deal with.
Lunch time showers have been life changing lol
@@aryncoblentz5349 Oh 100 percent! I do the same thing. I also got an under-the-desk treadmill so I can get steps in while I work, and I also break my lunch hour into workout, shower, then food. I love it so much
@@phil0s0phicj0ys that's amazing! Im debating buying a desk to attach to my spin bike lol
I enjoy being in the office but I really do love wfh:
1. I get more sleep which is HUGE for my mental health and overall wellness
2. I can keep up with my personal life/errands during quick breaks
3. No commute, reduces gas/transportation costs and saves time
4. I save money eating more breakfast and lunches at home
5. More flexibility with my schedule, especially being able to workout whenever I want!! Huge for keeping me sane and active. I have a hard time being motivated to workout after a strict 9-5 schedule
WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS EARLY OF AN UPLOAD THANK YOU FOR BLESSING MY DAY OFF I LOVE U
At first, I had a hard time adjusting to working from home, but now love it. There was a problem with noise in the Summer, with construction in the building and yelling kids outside, grrr. I admire you working, while being an RUclipsr. You have so much to offer!
You are killing it - congrats on the job! I started my first post-grad job remotely in july and I prefer working from home. Feel like I have more control of my day and love not having to commute.
really respect your hustle not only as a full time RUclipsr (been legit watching ur videos since strawberry electric days, hey girl heyy) but having a full time 9-5 in an industry that you're clearly so passionate about. keep it up sista
I’ve been an essential worker this entire pandemic, but I was finally able to accept a work from home position earlier this month! I start in February and I am SO excited to not have to be around the general public anymore! You wouldn’t even believe the things I’ve dealt with this past year... I am so thankful for this new opportunity in my life 🤍
Your sorority sweatshirt brought me old vlogmas memories. I remember you getting the olaf patches and matching with you little.i can’t believe i have been watching your videos si ce you were in high school!
omg same 😭
A tip for not getting burnt out while working at home, get dressed everyday then go take a walk (maybe grab a coffee) before work, this really helps me be in “work mode”
honestly even when covid is over, I wanna still WFH!! Im a pretty introverted person and the way my office space is layout is AWFUL for my productivity. Its an open space and people are constantly coming up to desks and chatting!!
Same I honestly love working from home. I prefer as I have built a space I love to sit at in my room to do my work. I am introverted person as well so I thrive working from home. with no one to exhaust my energy, honestly feels amazing!
@@kit-kat2120 YES YES I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I am actually looking to continue building/renovating my space. Do you have a standing desk or a stand for your laptop? I heard many people like them and stuff but idk
I love working from home. I don’t have to get up as early because I don’t really have to “get ready” like I used to. I’ve gained an hour or more back from not having a commute. I now use my hour lunch break to do chores around the house so I have more time to relax after work. The best part is I get to be with my dogs all day. I’m dreading going back to the office.
Wooo another vlog this soon! Love seeing how everything is going with the new job and moving. Glad your first day went well, and so happy for you to be working in a field that’s up your alley, what a great way to start the year! Looking forward to the content to come.
I'm not working from home, BUT I'm a student and half of my classes are online and half are on campus. I hate sitting in my apartment and doing school. I would much rather be on campus. I feel so much more productive and motivated there rather than being at home.
So happy for you Kristee!! This feels like you’re back in your element 😃
I also started a job working from home at the beginning of the pandemic in April. Then we got back to the office eventually but after a few months they sent us back to working from home but coming into the office one day a week. So now I work from home Mon-Thurs and only go to the office on Fridays. It took a long time for me to get used to it, but now after almost a year I think finally getting the hang of it. I would prefer going into an office everyday so I could better separate work and home life. That’s the toughest part. I just had to make myself a routine so I could feel a little bit more like I have control between work and off hours.
Couldn't relate more to what you said about how physically going into the office helps you with the work/life balance and finding that balance and control between work and off hours!!!!
Yes! I am a person that the atmosphere is important. Just look going to the gym it’s motivates me to workout. Haha
Going into work on a Friday just sounds torturous. I always had Friday WFH .. it just sounds so odd
Congratulations on starting the new job! Also, can't wait to see your new apartment and how you decide to decorate it. I love moving vlogs so much
Congrats on starting a new job!!! Working from home definitely has its moments. I like working from home, but I definitely miss being face to face working w a team.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!So excited for you!🌟🏆Thank you for sharing! 💕 I definitely miss being in an office, but it’s nice to not have a commute. Someday hopefully we’ll be back. 😎
Omg I used to watch you growing up and so excited I found you again!!!!!
Happy to hear that you had a good first day! I do okay working from home, and some days it’s definitely helpful like if I really need to focus and have proper peace and quiet. I’m thinking a mix of working from home and office time will probably be my setup in the future.
That story about Remi was so sweet! Love the blazer and the colour 💖
WE LOVE A FIRST DAY OF WORK VLOG!! I love working from home, I did it even before COVID! It's definitely harder now because I can't go work in coffee shops some days like I used too
I love your videos!! Congratulations on your first day!
Good Luck on your first day of work and I am so happy for you here in Georgia.
So fun to see this!! I’m moving country and starting a new job remotely next month and I’m super nervous for the virtual on boarding, no idea what to expect!
Congrats! I'm proud of you!
I’m flip flopping jobs, it’s been a really hard. It’s good to see you are having some success! Have a great rest of your work week, love your vids❤️
I started a new job WFH and I have gotten to like it a lot more over time! It gives me so much more control over my day, although I do wish I had "that first time in the office feeling." I've been thinking about doing a flex schedule and going into the office two or three days a week once the pandemic calms down, but we will see. Best of luck on your new journey!!
I started teleworking from home back in November and I’m loving it! I love being able to sleep in, work in comfy sweats, eat breakfast and lunch right at home, etc. I’m very much a homebody so being home makes me very happy. 😂 I’m sort of not looking forward to potentially going back into the office, but it would be nice being able to see my coworkers in person to help build those relationships.
Yay congratulations on the new gig!!
Kristee I’m so excited for you!!! Miss rona is not holding you back- new place and new job that’s amazing. Yay for new beginnings!
side note I love the good place lmao
Wow, I’ve watched you since your high school ootd videos, school makeup videos and you’ve come so far!! You’re so smart, confident and articulate 🥰 may god bless you with so much more success
😭❤️ thank you ily
I’ve been working from home for the last two and a half years and I love it
I'm so excited for work vlogs & I'm glad you like it so far :) I just started my first job out of college last week! I'm working in the office but we had a snowstorm this week and I was able to work from home. I love having the option and I hope wfh will be an option forever haha
Omg so awesome!!!! I can’t wait for more vlogs like this! I missed your work life vlog!
I prefer working at the office because of the mental benefits. Yes working from home is super handy! I love being able to go on walks during my lunch or doing laundry on a break etc. But for me, the convenience wasn’t worth the struggle of not having a work life balance. I was salary and it was sooooo hard to stop working when I knew I had more to work on and I was working in a studio situation so it was a few feet away. My ideal would be working in the office Mon, Tues and Thursday but home Wednesday and Friday 😁. From my experience definitely set yourself boundaries! It helped me to also schedule something right at the end of the work day (normally it would be a FaceTime call or something silly like groceries or gas, anything to break the work day)
Before COVID I used to only work from home on Friday's but then that changed to the full work week. I'm now at a job that's fully remote even without COVID and I'm so happy because I really enjoy working from home because I can sleep in for longer and use the time I would have spent commuting to work out. Singing aloud to music and naps at lunch are also great!
I do sometimes miss the hustle and bustle, so will probably do like 80% at home and 20% in a working space/office when they're open, but definitely prefer being at home for the most part, especially during the winter/or miserable rainy days in London!
So excited for this content you have no idea😍
I started my first job remotely right after graduating in August so I only know remote work lol. I’d love to experience working in an office in the future but I work in the mortgage industry so it’s not exactly necessary. I’ve been watching you since the high school days lol but it’s so refreshing to watch a RUclipsr that has a 9-5 job like me! Looking forward to more vlogs like this
BEYOND EARLY! Watching this while getting ready for work! 🎉🎉🎉
I’m definitely early .. I was heading to your moving blog for the link to Amazon shop for the clean bags and here you are . I have twins so the bad will store A lot of cloths so I don’t have to space bag them and use the vacuum to seal . Good luck with the job !!
Congrats on your first day 🎉🎉
This was such a Cool Beginning to Your Exciting New Life Path ...
A Long Fantastic Life awaits You ... Kristee
In a New World 🌎 Of Channeling of World Events ... Good Luck 🍀
I am also moving and starting a new job in the next month, so it is exciting to see you are a tiny bit ahead of my plans! Haha. It’s like I get a sneak peak
Just started a new job in a completely new industry for me and from home. I find it way more stressful so far because there are so many questions on the first day and zoom meetings only go so far. I am also having trouble with the company provided equipment. I had to use my iPhone all day yesterday. Thinking positive for a better day today. I have a conference call at 10 with tech so hopefully we will get it straight. Can’t wait to get into the office. We have to all be vaccinated before we can go into the office so I am hoping by summer I will meet my co workers. Have a great day!!!! ❤️❤️
I love working remote! I was originally in the office and have been mainly remote since COVID. I enjoy not worrying about my commute, getting that time in the morning to read/journal or at night it doesn’t feel like my whole evening is gone. It also helps that I live in a house and have my office set up in our guest bedroom so I have some separation.
you seemed so stress free while vlogging at work from home rather than in the office. its so refreshing to see. tbh. good luck kristi!
Everyone working from home definitely has a less stressful mood lol 😂
@@KourttneyL gosh darn this is so true haha. stay safe.
I like being in an office setting; but given the choice, I would prefer to work from home like 90% of the time and only come in for meetings or events. I got to work remotely at the end of my last job in March-April, and loved it. I’m also used to having an atrocious commute, so the possibility of having an extra 2-3 hours available in my day is reason enough to be remote.
I love Ann Taylor Loft. I always look for it when I’m thrifting lol! I taught from home from March- May. We went back to teaching in person in August. I had a very hard time separating work life from home life when working from home.
i work in the office twice a week in the morning. the rest of the week i’m at home. i like working remotely because getting up early and driving to work is a hassle now, but i get a lot more accomplished in my office so i try to go in when there’s not many people there.
You look so great in your first day of work outfit!
WE STAN REMI!!! She’s actually how I found you! Plus I found you when you lived in Georgetown and I had just moved to Alexandria 🤗💜
Exciting times indeedy 👍😊
Careful not to get caught out being too comfy should any impromptu meetings arise- happened to me when I looked like i'd been dragged through a hedge backwards and my boss hilariously quipped "oh, you've done something with your hair!"
🤷♀️😂
ive been waiting for this video omgg
When i had the option of teaching virtually from home I actually went into the building to teach from my classroom!! I agree, I feel more inspired when I’m physically there but having the option to stay home was very nice when I wasn’t feeling it in the morning LOL
Kristee, you should make a video on interviewing tips!
I think there's definitely pros and cons of wfh and the same can be said for working in an office, positives and negatives!
maybe a combo is the most beneficial lol
who knows what the future will be like
I started my first job ever from home because of COVID and have been at home for about 7 months now. It certainly has a lot of perks and saves me a lot of time, but I am excited to eventually go into the office and have that experience as well.
lol my first day at my job was literally March 13. I met my co workers once and have not seen them since 😂
@@aryncoblentz5349 Haha I talk to mine every day and don’t know what they look like
I’m definitely more productive and focused at the office but working from home definitely has its benefits. I’m able to cook my lunch at home and take care of my dog. I’m also able to go on walks during lunch!
I started a remote job back in august and I totally get what you mean about how it's easier to be focused when you're in an office and not working from home. I'm a contact tracer with a private research company that's contracted to work with my state. There's lulls sometimes because there's times we have no cases to call depending on the number of cases the state is reporting to us. It's so easy to get distracted and start doing other things since I'm home. I literally got distracted once and decided to sand and paint the drawer fronts of my dresser I was refinishing( got it for $5)
I’m a nurse, so I can’t work from home with my specialty. I like having to get up and look (somewhat) presentable and socializing with humanity. Sometimes I fantasize about staying home, but I probably wouldn’t be as motivated. My daughter prefers f2f school rather than digital learning as well, but I find her to be less stressed when she stays home for school. More calming environment.
Been working from home since March, but I go to the office when we do photoshoots and help out our shipping team (every two weeks) I definitely prefer working from home cos I feel like my set up is better at home!
AHH Mary Mcaleese what a queen!!!! (i'm from ireland haha) Congrats on starting your new job, you are going to do great things 💖 xx
Get it girl!!
I love your vlogs kristee
omg yaaasss, you better werk (from home)! 👏😂❤️
Congrats on the first day! I Hope the moving process goes smooth! I remember watching you way back when and looked you up at strawberrryelectric OMG, glad you're doing well! :)
My mental health did not do well the 20 weeks I had to work from home last year. Maybe if I had a second bedroom or someway of closing off my work space at the end of the day I might have done better but I was at my kitchen table with 3 monitors and a printer scanner so was having trouble separating work and home. I am fortunate enough that I work for a company that understands that and has allowed me to come into the office. In normal times there are 300 of us.. right now there are 10.. so being able to properly social distance is not an issue.
I’ve been working from home for 6 months now and it’s my first job out of college and i miss being at work so much!
In the new place are you going to use your desk to work from home. And you should put it in a place. That for your work to do..
I don’t work due to chronic illnesses but my husband use to work in an office environment before covid and of course got moved to remote afterwards. He slightly prefers working from home because he does have to commute, can eat lunch with me, and even take a nap ☺️ He does miss some of that in person interaction and would be happy with like an 70% remote to 30% office in an ideal situation.
Im about to start a job virtually and move at the same time. UGH but glad I got a job while so many cant
Hi Kristee! I'm actually in grad school at AU's SIS right now because I heard about it on your channel!! I've been applying to jobs for months now and I was wondering if you have any tips for finding a job in this field. I've been watching your channel since the Strawberry Electric days and your vlogmas from your senior year of highschool is my absolute favorite! Thank you for being you :)
I’m an permanent work from home employee (even before the pandemic) because they closed my office location but wanted to keep the people that were in it on (I’m a Business Analyst at a life ins co). I like it because of the flexibility but I definitely miss being in the office and being able to see people face to face.
Went work from home in March, stayed home until I had a baby in May. Then went back in September, then went back home work from home in November. Such a weird time. I like being home, but it’s hard to find that balance!
what's your plan in terms of workout and gym in the coming months? are the gyms open there? will you think of getting a bike/tread? Thanks!
Omgggg yay Kristee ✨✨✨
you look gorgeous!!! congrats on the new position :)
Thank you so much!!
Love that powder blue Loft blazer on you!
I interned with UN WebTV in 2019 so that shoutout made me so excited lmao
Missed your work vlogs...don’t know why...
Girl! I am a teacher and HATE working from home! So I would much rather be at my “office”!
You are very nice person. I am so happy for you!🍾
I'm working from home since March 13th and I prefer it to the office. I don't know how I would feel starting in a new job remotely but overall I would want to wfh going forward. I have lifted and shifted my office desk contents to my home office,I also live in a house and have a spare room for an office so it obviously is easier for me than other people's situations.
I also wear cozy clothes everyday because we don't need to use our cameras in meetings
Just started a new job from home too! Definitely different 🤷🏻♀️
Where are those blue packing bags from pleaaaase? Also moving this week!
I just signed my lease on a new apartment today! We’re both on this moving journey together lol
I looove working from home. I started working in a corporate office in March 2019, and went remote March 2020 (obvi :) ). So now that I’ve had a year of each, there are definitely pros and cons to both. I understand people’s issue with the work/life balance, but i feel i actually have a better balance now. My commute used to be a total of almost 3 hours (Long Island to NYC), so i am able to sleep in & when my day is done at 5, it’s truly done & i don’t have to commute home. It’s also nice that my computer is supplied by my company, so I’m not doing personal and work things on the same device - which i prefer. Idk how I’d be if i started a new job remote... my company has hired a lot since being WFH and they all seem to be adjusting well, so it’s probably a company-by-company basis on how well they prepare you.
Omg I’ve been job hunting so much in nyc and it’s been so hard to find something 😫 whats ur nyc company is that’s hiring WFH? I would love to check it out! Thanks 💕
Do you bring up your youtube channel in like interviews or when meeting your new coworkers? I've always wondered that!
Did you try selecting the option to pick up a router and set up wifi yourself? When I was moving there were absolutely no slots but I could buy a welcome pack from Comcast or Verizon, pick it up (or have it shipped to me) and set it up myself - which I was anxious about but was SO SO easy. Also you're killing it with the vlogs even with so much going on :)
Do you know if your work has a date set for bringing everyone back in the office in person?
wait, im not sure if its just me or you need specific internet plans, but you can set up your internet by yourself. Spectrum does it. Im not sure about the other brands but then again spectrums isn't that great..
That color of blazer is cute
Are you using the same cable company in your new apartment? If so they should just let you take the equipment with you and you can set it up at your new place. That’s what happened when I moved. Literally just took it...plugged it in...called the cable company and over the phone they made sure the signal was set up and then I was good to go. Didn’t need to send anyone out.
Is it permanently remote or would you eventually be back in the office?
I way prefer working from home. I work one town over and I can spend 2-3 hours a day commuting depending on traffic. Plus my job I have to log into my work computer and their network to do my job, so it's not something I can really do outside of my specific working hours. Worse part is their set up is dual screen so it takes up some space but that's an easy trade considering the perks to being at home.
great vid i enjoy very cool looks awesome youa re so pretty love your videos
Where's your pink sweatshirt from?
What camera do you use??? And what do you edit on??
Do u use ur own laptop or did the company supply one? Starting my remote job in 2 weeks
