Not ride the bike at top speed constantly, it will ruin the engine and also will give very poor mileage. Volkswagen was not on the top speed, they still had more speed to push.
I see alot of comments regarding the health of the engine at these sustained WOT rides. If some of you are unaware you can actually run a thicker oil to help the engine with the higher operating load. According to the owners manual, honda recommends a 5-6k oil change interval and using their mineral based hondalube 10w-30 - which is fine for normal riding in the city and highway cruising upto 80kmph. But OP clearly rides his bike harder than the usual commuter so it's in his best interest to actually consider doing his oil changes at 4k intervals and run a semi synthetic oil atleast with the rating of 10w-40 instead. Following these steps and making sure you let the engine warm up before getting on the throttle , the wear rate on the engine will be minimal due to the added steps you take in protecting the engine giving the operating conditions you push it through. I've done 148k on my odometer ( 200kms a day, cruising speed 100kmph) and I switched to Castrol racing 10w-40 synthetic from hondalube 10w-30 after the 1st 3000kms as to let the engine season in under warranty ( yes I followed the manual and took it easy for the 1st 4 months of ownership ) Changed the oil every 4k kilometers and I've not had a single issue with my 160r since. It's all about how much care are you willing to put into your investment to protect it in the long run. I do all the preventive maintenance and services on my bike which gives me piece of mind that it is actually looked after than taking it to the shitty dealerships which I have trust issues with! PS- not running the factory rear sprocket I am actually runnin a sprocket with a total of 2 tooth less so i sacrificed a little acceleration for better top end cruising speeds. I lost 2-3kmpl when I ran the 40 grade oil but the sprocket made up for that quite easily. My bike averages 38-40 on a liter depending on highway traffic ( factory sprocket returned a fuel consumption of 33 on a liter for comparison everything else being equal )
@@grv6209 this is a highly debatable topic gaurav. It all comes down to rider maintenance. And I don't mean just washing the bike and changing engine oil.
