I started running in March 5 months post partum after my second baby and recently ran 9 miles without stopping and have finally managed a sub 30 5k! Excited for what I can achieve in 2025!
It's a long and painful tale but, keeping it short: I was 739th of 1,388 in the New Forest Half-Marathon. It was wet, it was rough, I'm a poor, meek, weak, little old man: I struggled with the terrain and the weather (which was wet and ghastly, but I was first home in the 70+ age grade!
@@UTubeSL You are too kind. I should add that my time was unimpressive and, having returned home and showered, I was too tired to go to the pub that evening. The two pints I imbibed before catching the train out of Brockenhurst probably didn't help.
It’s not much but beginning of this year I could only jog for 30 seconds and I would feel like I’m dying, I now run 5k in 28 minutes and feel amazing for it.
I'm on a disability pension but have been running for 6 years on a treadmill (mostly uphill but slow) and discovered I can run outdoors a bit quicker than I do on the treadmill (because there's more flat sections outside where I live than I run on the treadmill)
Proudest moments - after being diagnosed with DDD and being told I'll never play sports again, I still managed to run 10 miles a few times, PB several 5k's and watch my fitness tracker tell me my cardiovascular health improved by 5 years (oura ring)
Ran 3 half marathons, Battersea, Manchester and Richmond Riverside achieving a PB and running Winter 10k and Vitality 10k and breaking a sub 1 hour 10k PB! Bring on Brighton Marathon 2025!
For me, it's doing my longest run in over 35 years (having only got back into running 5 years ago) and managing to run a sub 90 minute 10 miles and a sub 2 hr half marathon.
@ yes I did but I don’t love it ;) I know Amsterdam is interesting for tourists but from a run perspective it’s not great imho. I love nature and hills and where I live (Nijmegen) there is enough. But that’s just a personal opinion.
@avwie132 I did it in the pouring rain two years ago. Crowd cheering was amazing and I was at least dry in the IJ tunnel. Hopefully next time it will be dry
Honestly, just finally getting into running. But more specifically, running my first 15k race in the beginning of december, which is the furthest I've ever run.
I was a 4hr Pacer at the Amsterdam Marathon 2024. I was a 3:45 Pacer at the Ravenna Marathon 2024. Definitely my proudest moments. There's nothing quite like helping others attain their goals!. ♥️
Ran my first ever 10K!!! Started running in April, with a bulging disc and so bad sciatica I couldn’t sit down, it felt like someone was chopping my leg off. Running saved me from the worst pain I ever felt in my life. (And yes, I had 2 kids, one without the epidural 😂, he was out in under 2 hours 🤪😂)
Running over 100 miles every month in 2024. I set this goal at the beginning of 2024, and through injury and sickness I was still able to achieve this goal. Now onto 2025.
Running my first 50-mile trail ultra since my multiple sclerosis diagnosis. I dropped from my 3rd 50-mile ultra in 2013; I was diagnosed with MS 2 weeks later.
Getting back to running consistently has been my greatest achievement. Even with nagging shin splits most of the year I was able to return to running in September and havent stopped 🙏
Finally ran 21.1km On my own, starting at 11pm and finishing around 1:15am just because I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it before starting my training for the Canberra Marathon. Until then, I'd never run more than 13km and that was a few years back.
Not getting injured. Sounds dumb but I have had 2 years of gradual progress but every 6-12 weeks there would be something that would mean I would have to back off for a week to a month. I have had six months of uninjured consistent training and all my times have drastically improved.
When specialist doc told me I am healthy now, I ran 10km to celebrate my good health. I trained myself for 3 months from watching your videos and other channels but yours’ was the best ❤. Back to your question, for me is 10km😊.
Ran my first 10k with a decent time. Then trained for a 5k hill race and smashed my 5k PB. Figured I should push myself, so ran a HM and set a new 10k PB while doing so.
Set myself a goal of running one 10km each month in 2024 (previously only ever run 5km) and completely smashed it. I ran 21 x 10km during the year!!! My goal for 2025 is to run one 15km each month. Feeling nervous but excited...
Running nearly every day (I think I missed a week because of infections) at least 5km and London Marathon. Plus helping friends to PBs too. And generally encouraging them.
Running an easy 10k. That sounded insane to me. I'd done 2 10ks before and they had killed me, it was so hard. I never thought I'd get to a assuage where I would be capable of an easy 10k
Running 10k under an hour a half year after I started running at 47. And losing over 20 kg through running.
Good job mate
Great effort
In 2024 I came back from chemotherapy and managed 2 half marathons. One road and one trail. In 2025 I'm determined to do my first ultra!
Fantastic!
Coming back to running after developing a heart condition and learning how to best manage it is my best achievement this year!
I started running in March 5 months post partum after my second baby and recently ran 9 miles without stopping and have finally managed a sub 30 5k! Excited for what I can achieve in 2025!
I started running, found myself really enjoying it, and ran my first half marathon in November! 🥳
Ran over 1000 miles total in 2024, and ran my first marathon!
The fact that I started running in May and kept running regularly through the rest of the year! 🎉
Many congratulations! Finishing a marathon at all in grim conditions is a great achievement, let alone winning your age category! 👏
@@UTubeSL You are too kind. I should add that my time was unimpressive and, having returned home and showered, I was too tired to go to the pub that evening.
The two pints I imbibed before catching the train out of Brockenhurst probably didn't help.
Wow that's impressive!
It’s not much but beginning of this year I could only jog for 30 seconds and I would feel like I’m dying, I now run 5k in 28 minutes and feel amazing for it.
Snap. Struggled with it for over 10 years. Worked up to 5 k this year with lots of prehab and strength work
So much more than "not much", that's a legit achievement! 👍
That's great work! Keep it up
I'm on a disability pension but have been running for 6 years on a treadmill (mostly uphill but slow) and discovered I can run outdoors a bit quicker than I do on the treadmill (because there's more flat sections outside where I live than I run on the treadmill)
That is so clever. Must feel like flying!
Proudest moments - after being diagnosed with DDD and being told I'll never play sports again, I still managed to run 10 miles a few times, PB several 5k's and watch my fitness tracker tell me my cardiovascular health improved by 5 years (oura ring)
What is DDD?
@dresden_slowjog degenerative disc disease. It's common, but my spine is basically crumbling from all the impact sports I played.
Started running in Februari, ran my first half marathon in 2 hours in November!
You absolute legend!!
@UTubeSL haha thanks!!
I’m most proud of completing my first marathon this year even after hitting the way hard at mile 16
I'm proud of becoming a Prefect at school.
Ran my first race in two decades and finished with a PB 👍
10K PR of 39:33 from 41:19 on a SUPER hilly course on a very cold rainy day! Cried tears of joy after :)
My 10k PB is 43:43 and i wanna break that 39:59 so bad haha congrats on your pb!
Outstanding!
Great work! Good on you :)
Ran 3 half marathons, Battersea, Manchester and Richmond Riverside achieving a PB and running Winter 10k and Vitality 10k and breaking a sub 1 hour 10k PB! Bring on Brighton Marathon 2025!

Completing my first 100 mile race and doing it under my goal time of 30 hours!
That is amazing.
Serious achievement 👍
For me, it’s my Oxford half marathon pb, not just because of the pb but also because of the structure to my training that got me there
Finishing the Sevehillsrun here in NL in 1:14. Getting into trail running and finishing a 29km course
Ever done Dam to Dam (Dam tot Damloop)? Love that event the running channel should do it
@ yes I did but I don’t love it ;) I know Amsterdam is interesting for tourists but from a run perspective it’s not great imho. I love nature and hills and where I live (Nijmegen) there is enough. But that’s just a personal opinion.

Being part of the team that set up Fulwell Quarry parkrun
That's an easy answer for me. Breaking my half marathon PB and running it under 1h40 during the process.
PBs on the 10mile (1:11:44 @4:27/k) and in the marathon (3:44:47 @5:20/k).
Started running and I've just been improving all the time thanks to this channel.

Ran my first ever marathon in the spring and my second in the fall! Cracked 4 hours on the second try, too. Pretty proud of that!
Running my first 50-mile trail ultra since my multiple sclerosis diagnosis. I dropped from my 3rd 50-mile ultra in 2013; I was diagnosed with MS 2 weeks later.

Ran my first marathon sub 3 this year after an ITB injury! Absolutely buzzing :)
Running wise running my marathon of four where I was proud to adapt my approach concentrating on pace on the forth and running the whole thing!
When specialist doc told me I am healthy now, I ran 10km to celebrate my good health. I trained myself for 3 months from watching your videos and other channels but yours’ was the best ❤.

I started running (again). And think it has saved this year for me.
Running nearly every day (I think I missed a week because of infections) at least 5km and London Marathon.
Plus helping friends to PBs too. And generally encouraging them.
I got into running this year (September to be exact), completed three 5ks and I have signed up for a 10k in January.
Started running January 2024 and have since run my first half marathon 😊
Running an easy 10k. That sounded insane to me. I'd done 2 10ks before and they had killed me, it was so hard. I never thought I'd get to a assuage where I would be capable of an easy 10k
Never done more than 12km before 2024 this year I’ve done 3 half marathons!
More volunteering than running at parkrun. Feels good to give more than you take.
Racing my fastest marathon since 2019- finishing second in my age group 😊
Starting running in August and sticking to it!
Mine: 19:20 Parkrun, getting myself into the sub 20 club!

Going sub 37 mins in the 10k and pacing a sub 45 min 20k group in April
Finishing my first marathon. After having to literally lie down on a table with cramp 31km in 🥲
I ran my first 5k! My goal was 45 mins and I ran it in 45.25!
Starting running!
1,535 miles run and ran everday.
Running 10km under 50 minutes 3 times in 2024 fastest was 48:37, I was real chuffed on that time.
Becoming county 10k champion (in my age category) just 3 years after I thought injuries had ended my running career ❤🎉😅
Accomplishing my first 10k!
