Clint Mansell is an amazing modern composer of this century to be recognized for what he invokes on human emotion through his music, the depth and originality is absolutely out of this world.
I can't express how happy I am to find this video. After hearing this piece for so many years it is awesome to finally see it performed. Thank you Clint Mansell for creating such a masterpiece!
Ich Bin Godie i literally got to this comment at the perfect time , where in the movie they’re in jail and they start asking them those questions in the hallway .
The old man that says that is the author, Hubert Selby Jr Edit: sorry its really the old man that says "you got a rotten attitude" THATS the author.. sorry it's hard for me to watch that movie 💔😢
The first time I saw the film I never thought for a second that the score was performed live, with actual strings. I thought for sure it was all electronic. It’s so relentless, just like the film...
the first parts of this before the obvious hit song from the film, is actually quite horrific to me. it sums up all of the devastation I felt while watching the film. it pretty much set the tone of what I was to prepare for for the entirety of the film itself. horrific, bone chilling music.
Musician are the real creator, next to GOD I cant express my words just Brilliant nothing more than this . Thanks for All who creates ,composes ,Plays .shoots & also who uploads this .
Just came across this video all I can say is wow wow and wow. the music is as haunting as anything I've ever heard ;add that to the movie and you have one knockout punch. Brilliant
vultur311 it means something no matter the movie or whatever else. beautiful internalization of human emotion. I feel every violin stroke, every drum beat, every piano key. movie or not.
Clint Mansell makes a lot of movie music, im sure that he inspired in the argument of the movie to whrite this, and i thing that this music puts you right in the middle of the conflict of the movie just by listening it, even if you haven't seen the movie.
Priceless the first time hearing this art I fell in love with this orchestra, I can listen to this amazing and truly incredible peice over and over how can something sound so scary sound so good thank you for this incredible art Mr. Mansell.
9:05 those violinists creep me the hell out the way they play the opening triplets before the BOOM of the rest of the orchestra coming in. No wonder this track was so memed, even when I was a child in the early 2000s. It's a masterpiece, truly. Then at 10:07 they come in with the greatest violin riff ever created and it's just gorgeous.
ART TO THE SUPERLATIVE !! A PLEASURE TO LISTEN,TO THEM,A PLEASURE TO WATCH THEM.THANK YOU!!!THAK YOU BECAUSE YOU EXISTS!!YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT !!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤❤❤❤❤
Truly amazing how pop music can make billions with auto tuned pretty faced artists. meanwhile unsurpassed talent gets ignored. If they only knew how insanely hard they had to work to get that right. I am truly sorry for the lack of credit and support of others. Their is no price that is too high to pay to see a performance like this in my lifetime compared to the Ashley Simpson and Justin Bieber type that our culture is forced to listen to.
@@JohnVeritas He definitely doesn't write all of them, but he has written his own lyrics before. I'm not necessarily a fan of him, either, but he does prove to be a capable performer without autotune.
LUX AETERNA. Es tan conmovible como dramáticamente impresionante. Ideal y esencial para hacer el duelo comprensivo del paso de la Biosfera para subir a la Cristopfera. Una proeza musical.
her with the ponytail, omg the concentration and focus, i sense a darker side to her, but i suppose thats the music, being sinister, putting yourself in the frame of mind, the mood and feeling one with the movie
When their is 4:00minutes left that’s when it really gets good and if you click for Requim for a dream then that’s where you should start ,I never get tired of this melody it was written so perfectly .it’s good for many occasions .

The violinists show so much passion.
Shane Mulvey don't they? It's great to watch

En mi ignorancia creí que era un clásico de Wagner o algo así

Watch the version of the Metropole orkest, that's overwhelmingly beautiful too.
Amazing! I have massive respect for people who have dedicated their lives to playing and mastering instruments. Music in its purest form, outstanding!
- can you hear me? can you see me?
- Yes sir

Its amazing how Clint thought up this OST with the violins sounding so jagged and sinister. Perfectly match for the movie
Saw them perform in Los Angeles a few years ago. Most amazing live performance I've seen.
This is literally one of the most emotionally raw pieces of music that I have ever heard
the first parts of this before the obvious hit song from the film, is actually quite horrific to me. it sums up all of the devastation I felt while watching the film. it pretty much set the tone of what I was to prepare for for the entirety of the film itself. horrific, bone chilling music.
The synchronous play of both violin ladies is just amazing!
These are some of the best and most haunting sounds i have ever heard in my entire life.
The "Requiem for a Dream" soundtrack is one of the reasons why Clint Mansell is recognized as a talented composer.
Esse filme me impactou profundamente. Aronofsky é genial.
This film shock me so deep. Aronofsky is a trully genius. Big fan from Brazil

Great performance. I like it better than the performance on the soundtrack. This really brought things up a notch. I can't stop listening to it.
This is so beautifully composed. This sound gave great depth to the movie. LOVE THEM BOTH
Luxury, high level, cosmic, wonderful, greatest, especially first violinist with black hair !!! Thank you
When you heard like this it doesnt mean nothing, BUT after watching movie and you remember this music - its little scary and so effective
it's more than sufficient on its own and Antonio Banderas on drums xd
I am pretty sure they chose this as their soundtrack because it's the other way around.

what a masterpiece !
Don't think I've ever seen a movie that the soundtrack matched so perfectly. My all-time favorite movie score.
Imagine they probably had these poor musicians watch the movie to understand what they were playing.
@khaoimonk7110 i never thought about that.... but now that you've mentioned it I can see that and probably why it's so good.

Hayranim son of Winnie the Pooh=with all due respect, of course.
Justin Bieber can actually sing without autotune though.
