Jackie Mittoo, was introduced to me by my uncle, who still here to this day, bless, great to see Lloyd Knibb, Roland Alphonso talking, Lester Sterling, Lloyd Brevitt, Tommy McCook and Stafford Ashani. as known as the Skatalites, Priceless, my mind has always been transported way back to these times! Love and Respect
The great Jackie Mittoo , Jamaica,s undisputed king of the keyboards forever I was introduced to his sound by my moms as a child. Memories by the score.
This is a wonderful piece of music history and the sound is perfect. It's raw and real and gives us an insight into an excellent era of music. Thanks for sharing.
This man was my dads best friend. (Alton ellis) i was ten when i first met him. It was my birthday He gave me a 10 pound note, my mum took it from me, i never saw that money again 😂😂
Very great to see such footage! Were you there when the band arrived in limousines to The Latin Quarter? They told me that was filmed by the promoter. I have the audio recording of the show which was April 6, 1986. Owen Gray was their vocalist that evening!
The promoter hired us. And Hortense Ellis performed too. Ken Boothe too, I think? Don''t remember about the limousines. We were probably setting up. Those were the days of big cameras and long cables :)
Yes one of the great that laid the foundation of this great sound of the decendant of slave reggae 98 percent of Jamaican maybe never heard of this great man

@@ReggaeStrongTV Didn't know there were other performers. Owen was backed by The Skatalites. My friend DRO from Midnight Ravers recorded it.
Would it be possible to buy a copy of the audio recording?
