Hey friends! New lesson here, where I'll show you how to play a solo acoustic version of Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton. This one has a simple structure (it only uses A and B-minor), but there's so much fun to be had by adding small riffs between these two chords. In my lesson I'll start with the basics (basic chord shapes & 3 strumming options) -- and then I'll get into some more advanced stuff, including chord variations and a few ways you can combine lead fills with your strumming.
    Video timestamps:
    - 0:00 Preview & lesson overview
    - 1:47 Chord shapes needed (basics)
    - 3:29 Chord progression for entire song
    - 4:42 Strumming patterns (3 options)
    - 11:02 Advanced: Modifying the A & B-minor chords
    - 15:45 Advanced: Combining lead riffs w/ strumming

David, that is an amazingly well done lesson! From the simple to the sublime you covered so much material with what seems to be crystal clarity. Without having worked through the lesson it sure seems like you've hit a home run. Once I get into the meat of the lesson I feel sure I'll feel compelled to support you on Patreon. I'm looking forward to working through this right away. Thanks for your excellent work!

Young man. I must congratulate you. You are the best person I have seen in my life, all professions combined, with so many talents and qualities for teaching. It is not that difficult to play the guitar. But how difficult it is sometimes to teach it. You are the perfect person for this. At least for this song. Thank you very much for sharing this incredible talent with everyone. Pedagogy does not seem to have any secrets for you!

Been following your channel for quite a while now and I keep coming back to certain lessons. I've finally realized that I NEED to develop a hard core intent to grow and achieve guitar proficiency.
THIS one: "Tennessee Whiskey • Solo acoustic guitar lesson w/ tabs (Chris Stapleton)" keeps me coming back. TODAY, for this lesson, I am wondering which string gauge you have mounted as well as pick brand, model, thickness. As a long term novice with a buddy who aspires to reach my level of proficiency ( LOL) I am finding myself advising him regarding strumming patterns, picks, bending, muting and more. Everything I have retained from your lessons has been helpful due to your teaching style and extras that you provide. Comprehensive, beyond "just licks" really makes Song Notes stand a cut above.
