  • Edit: I've removed "blind playthrough" from the title because someone pointed out that it was misleading people into thinking that I claim that this is my first try. It's not my first attempt. When I say blind, I mean first playthrough, no looking up strategies on the internet.
I was very surprised by how easy he was. When facing mounted opponents, I usually go after their weak/unarmed side. The tree sentinels at least had a shield.
In neutral, like in 0:27, I go rush to his head. From there, he can either:
    - 0:29 do a boar slam that I dodge to the weak side
    - 0:38 start a combo when the boar raises its head to 11 o'clock (dodging to the weak side is safe)
    - 1:01 sweep while moving away and comes back with a 2nd slash (dodge through to end up behind, you can attack to bait the kick)
    - 1:51 downward slash, looks similar to the sweep, but if you end up close after the dodge, it will be followed up with a boar attack (dodge through to the weak side)
    - 2:32 gravity pierce, one of the harder moves to dodge (I wait a bit, seems like the jump is what causes damage, not the movement of the weapon)
Also, if you find yourself behind him (0:48), you can bait out the kick so you can dodge back into the weak side to continue the assault.
Phase 2 skill is nice 1:22, but the first thing I do against these moves is to move forward, and it worked. No need to worry about all the rocks. Most conveniently, I end up on the weak side.
I bring with me a Carian Retaliation shield in case he uses the gravity orb. Parry it, and no more lingering black holes in the fight. Sadly, it seems that he doesn't do it when I stick to him like this. The one boss that's mounted, and can jump 20 feet up, doesn't have the mobility to run away and reset.
Simple solution, not too complicated. When on the weak side, he doesn't use combos, mostly slow attacks.

Edit: One comment pointed out that "blind playthrough" can be interpreted as "first try". I'm not claiming this to be attempt #1, because it's obviously not. As pointed out, the fog wall is there at the start. It's a very bad lie if it is one. I hope that clears it up.

Is “Blind playthrough” supposed to mean this was your first ever time fighting him? Cause you both went through a fog gate and dodged certain attacks that would be literally impossible without knowing how they work.
Impressive fight regardless, but the title is very misleading at best and a flat out lie at worst.

@@jackcohn1733 Blind = first playthrough, no looking up stuff, but not first try.
I thought "playthrough" was a common gaming term by now. I guess not. Thanks for asking and pointing it out, I'll try to consider that when replying to comments.
