    I’m excited for you about your laundry chute. Dirty laundry gets stinky. Plus I had the additional problem of my cat lying in it.
    The whole kitchen set up is so elegant and sleek.
    I loooove the color of your Dutch oven.

    I'm disgusted that in the last 4 years of converting my bus that I have not heard of this unit. I have already installed a propane stove and to change it now would mean a major rework of the kitchen countertop, etc. I absolutely love this unit. Now my wheels are spinning! Thanks!

    I used a Wallas stove/heater in a few different boats for years. They were very handy and so efficient. I will say we had issues when running diesel in them. Lots of soot buildup. We ended up switching over to Kleen Heat which I think was just kerosene. It burned much cleaner and didn’t smell or build up soot. It was very expensive fuel though. Food for thought!

    Very cool and gives me another option. I am hopefully going to be able to sell my home and purchse a M1079 to live in so this ws great info also quick question (on when you tapped the tank) what about metal shaving going into the tank?

    • @OurWayToRoam
      @OurWayToRoam  7 месяцев назад +1

      We decided the take the risk in tapping the tank without fully dropping it and draining the diesel. We used a high powered vacuum while we were drilling and went very slow. No metal shavings in the tank thankfully 👍🏻 Definitely use this method at your own risk!

    Having nearly set fire to the composite shell of my last build with the flue for a Webasto heater, for my recent build I discovered a "turret" plate floor mounting on Amazon that ensures a good air gap between the flue and the camper shell. Also this seals the floor penetration preventing water from getting into the insulation. Stay safe.

    Great build and video. I assume based on using diesel heaters that the noise is maybe a smaller fuel pump pumping faster thru a smaller line. I would think that without thermostat heat control that you would want a remote control to kill it if it got hot inside when trying to sleep.

    • @OurWayToRoam
      @OurWayToRoam  8 месяцев назад

      There is a very small fuel pump on both the oven and the stove. You can sometimes hear them faintly in the background but they're not very noticeable. Mostly you're hearing the fans. The heater does have a thermostat! It's located in the switch plate! Glad you enjoyed the episode 🥰

    Hello, we just love watching your videos and your build. The stove!, Heater, cooktop initiative are great. We found one rather concerning point and that is the fact that one of the dogs climbed onto the counter, if cooktop hot he could Get Hurt. Just a heads up. Want to keep those puppies safe. Regards from Québec Canada. ❤️🐾🐾

    Hey guys.
    Love the channel and thank you for great videos.
    Question on the Wallas.
    In a crowded campsite. Or just camping with friends. Do your camping neighbors smell diesel exhaust when you’re cooking? Anything that would bother the neighbors?
    Thanks.

    I have gotten so many timely items from you 2 for my build it's scary. I was just trying to figure out how to run my diesel heaters exhaust pipe out of my 37' Fleetwood Class A RV, and in today's episode you guys talk about a insulation cover for that inch tube that is just what I need for this one. Been modding this big guy for over 25 years.( Barney)
    My diesel heater is mounted under the cabinet that my heater is in, and I'm wanting to combine both of the heat outputs of both systems into the coaches floor ductwork. But to do this, the hot exhaust pipe has to go through the floor, through the 9" cross basement and then outside, just in front of the drive tires. With the insulation tube like you used, I can run mine without worry of setting the flooring, or items in the basement on fire. I'll be building it inside a sheetrock type enclosure as well, but that sock will give me a lot more confidence with it.
    I'm intreaged with the diesel stove top and oven. My wife wants to replace our propane cook system later. And since my big guy has a 100 gallon fuel tank, I may look onto the Willis more later. That would mean only my hot water heater will be propane!!! 35 gallon propane tank......
    That is a great build.

      Barney is a fantastic name for a class A RV! Wallas also makes diesel water heaters if you do decide to switch everything over to diesel. We've loved our Wallas appliances so far! Definitely worth the investment.

      @OurWayToRoam The 1st and only other owner of my 1989 Fleetwood was Barney and Eva Robinson of Fort Worth, Texas. I didn't know it was his when I bought it, but he owned a specialty wood store where I bought fine wood for furniture and cabinet making. I was a regular customer. He and his wife loved to travel in the Fleetwood, and when his wife got sick, he sold it because he couldn't stand to travel without his loving wife. I bought it from a consignment dealer. It was only a few years ago that I discovered the original paperwork with his name on it. I knew him for his wood store. He was a kind man, so I named the coach after him. Thinking it would be like the Swiss Family Robinsons travels. I bought it in 1995, and my wife and I traveled the US from coast to coast 5 times in it before I decided I needed more power. I've been modifying and hot rodding it for over 25 years. Doubled the horsepower by converting from gas to diesel (170 hp tp 400+) and putting in a hot rodded Allison transmission. 3 speed C6 to a 10 speed) Too many mods to list, but I will look into a diesel water heater as well, once I get the exterior wrapped and the interior remodel finished. Building it now to have 1600 watts of solar and a completely updated, state of the art, Victron power system. Yeah, I'm an old hot rod builder from the 60s!
      Lucky me, I've got the skills, time, shop, and money to build it the way I want. I already have the wrap we are going to put on it figured out.

    The build looks beautiful! and the food looked delicious!! Just a couple questions when the stove is on the heating mode does the top of the lid get hot? just worried about Mateo & Pablo I can see they could easily get over on the counter top from the bed! and will you have a place to sit while dining on your scrumptious creations!

    • @OurWayToRoam
      @OurWayToRoam  8 месяцев назад +1

      Luckily the lid is insulated so it doesn’t get hot when it’s in heater mode 🙌🏻 But we do have to watch them in general when we’re cooking so they don’t burn themselves on the glass cooktop. Ideally they will stop getting on the counter 😅 We’re working on it, one day at a time haha
