When it comes to skating ride on curbs a lot of speed and wax goes a long way I love skating ride on curbs going mock 10 I ride a 9in board too

Hell ya! I definitely need to start building up my speed on grinds, i’ve been thrown off a few going fast because of lack of wax, so now there is a subconscious fear I think lol. But hell ya! What 9inch board are you riding?

@@maxxthemelonhead I’m riding a 9in blank from skate warehouse that was like 30 bucks and I just recently skated at an indoor park that I used to go to all of the time and they had shop deck with a map of the town on them so I bough one of those it’s got my favorite measurement on it too 9in 33in long and a 15in wheelbase with a super big and steep nose

dont think too much about the specs of your board :-) I know there is quite a difference, but the more you think about it the worse it gets.
you can totally psyche yourself out over this.
from my perspective, and I'm also a beginner pretty much, I can tell you mainly lack confidence yet, which is fine, it comes with practice.
but to be fair, your current setup is very tall, comparetively, 55mm trucks, 56mm wheels.
mine for example is 52mm trucks and 52mm wheels.
digging those noseslides btw. looking great. mine are not quite so nice yet

Ya I totally get what you’re saying about not getting sucked into the board madness. For this particular case, I could just really feel the difference, especially since my previous wheels had been work down to around 48mm. But I appreciate the reminder and the kind words. Keep on skating and progressing my friend 🙌

Try to commit to going faster you will see that balance during nose slides and grinds are a lot easier. The slower you go the harder balance becomes it can be done. But looking good so far man. I just started skating myself a month ago I am 40. Skated for years when I was young I was really good. Feel great getting back into it. Still go my kickflips and tre flips. But I like transition skating at my age. Working on rock to fakie at the moment. Going skate park as soon as my son get home from college I’m teaching him how to skate been really good time. Great bonding expirence and can pass this on to him.

That’s amazing to hear that you are back on the board man! It’s also great to hear that you are getting to ride with your son. When I have kids one day, I hope to do the same. Thank you for the tips though, I will definitely keep that in mind🙌
