Great vid Andrew! I’m 66 training solely calisthenics for 5+ years. When I started I couldn’t do one full ROM pull-up, dip or ATG goblet squat. Now I can do 12 pull-ups, many sets of 10 dips and I ATG goblet squat to a 6 inch depth for 10+ sets with weight. That said I currently have hand issues that I took a deload for. Planning to stick with it for life. I love the “collateral benefits”, sore core etc. when I didn’t specifically train core. LOL

You hit the nail on the head with this one. lol calisthenics is leg day for the upper body. I'd walk away with a mediocre pump, but in a few days. All of a sudden, I have butter fingers and struggle to open jars. When healed up, a whole different story. Weights are long lasting for a home gym and there's no hate. But I would suggest resistance bands, since you can use them as assistance on your calisthenics, can help you with physical therapy, and if all fails. If you're use to a weightlifting style, as long as you know how to get that mind muscle connection, you'd be surprised what you can achieve with it. No momentum and just working your stabilizers. lol you will become stronger.

Calisthenics literally changed my life. I used to have serious body dysmorphia and cali allowed me to focus on what my body could do more than what it looked like. But here is how life is funny because the moment i stopped thinking about getting abs cali gave me abs in no time!!!

Once a guy told me that if I did pull ups I would look like a man. I think he was just jealous that I could do more pull ups than him

Love it. When I was a teen (1970’s!) my GF wanted to lift weights with me, so we trained together. People at school would say “Why are you making her lift weights- you’re going to make her look like a man!” LOL

Talk about frail masculinity. What are women’s muscles supposed to do with exercise then, give them a stereotypically “attractive” body that’s nothing but a silly standard? IMO women with muscle mass look super s3xy.
