Hello guys welcome back to another video. In this video I decided to re-make Ark Survival Evolved Ragnarok Inside of Unreal Engine 5. Currently we are waiting on Ark Survival Ascended to remaster the original Ragnarok Map inside of Unreal Engine 5. And so I decided to take matters into my own hands to remaster the map in Unreal Engine 5 myself, before they release it in September.

I don’t know what you mean by remastering it. Like are you gonna make a new course or add more to the course?
I also want to know this. Want to buy the course , but have to be certain that I buy the ue5.4 newest version before the price goes up. I also send an email to you and have no response from you. Is everything OK there?
@Smart Poly i beg you like its super important for many people and me. PLEASE let us use something like GAS or GAS Companion or any other method to tackle client prediction and networking. I loved the old course its 11/10, but i think i speak for everyone who done the old course that we PLEASE can build the new course from ground up to be done with proper networking (So still smooth gameplay when lag and ping is introduced), we had so many issues with this, and its a complex thematic. I probably invested hundered of hours into this topic and still can't make out how to do it properly. I think GAS is perfect for this. If you say GAS is too C++ heavy and Companion costs money which your course does not want since it should be done without any additional addons or money, i still vote for SMN2 by Reddy-Dev which is basically C++ Character movement classes exposed to Blueprint. The plugin is free. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

@@SmartPoly I did, for hours. The problem is nobody was able to explain it in a simple way on how to swap the CMC for the Mover Component in any way on a existing project. Theres no documentation on this sadly, i even talked to UE devs about this and they said you need to rewrite and do a lot of C++ to get this working. The problem is the Movement component itself is empty by default, its not set up to be used as a character movement component. It CAN be used for character movement, but its not usable for this by default. The Example project UE ships is basically C++ and a custom implementation. Epic themself says it can be used for anything, but when they say for anything, they mean you won't get a finished character movement class like we did before, you need to do it from scratch. Thats why i don't see Mover 2.0 as a alternative for network prediction etc.
THANK YOU... i have the same problem. Even just with 50 ms of delay my project breaks apart. People said we should use GMC or GAS or something but i cant do any c++. i really need to find a way otherwise i need to scrap my project
I agree the course was amazing but network conditions were largly overlooked, as there was no mention of client side prediction at all which is actally quite eazy to implement if your experenced granted this isnt a c++ course so we cant use network roll back and such features.

a remaster would definitely need a system to combat meshing. I agree that Aberration would be an awesome map to see next.

I loved ark too man, but now that they are screwing around. I think I’ll pick up your online multiplayer course, is it updated to the current unreal engine?
How did you export this, i grabbed the dev kit, one it loads at 5.2, and two cant export anything

I don't know your plans for the remaster of the course, but if you use this for the PCG part or for the map building, and thus combine your desire to remake Ragnarok with the remastered course, it would be cool
Remaking old games plus the mechanics would be great to learn. For me Im gonna wait for your remaster course and hope this time is a real first person where you can see the character and not just the arms.

Can you still sculp this map? Tried heightmaps long ago, but after importing it couldn't do any sculpting, you just stuck with what you get? 🤔
did you import the heightmap as a mesh or as a landscape? because you can't sculpt meshes the same way you do with landscape (there's ways to sculpt meshes but it's not as efficient as landscaping) so maybe that's it?
