Couldn't agree more, in fact I just spent about 3 hours outside in the 28°F weather with the Solo Stove lit, and man am I glad I had a fire going. The wind is brisk today.
Stay away from Truff imo. That stuff was atrocious and I haven't met a single person who actually liked it. As a point of reference I grow tons of different hot peppers from habanero to ghost and make hot sauces constantly. So it wasn't a heat thing it was fully a flavor thing. I also enjoy truffle just not this time.
One company I'd like to suggest for future vids is Veterans BBQ sauce. I have no affiliation but it's damn close (sometimes better lol) to scratch made. I always have it on hand and really like it
I bought the Thermo pen on your recommendation and my family thanks you for meals cooked right to temp. …and I’m thinking the apron and pepper cannon may be on my list this year:)
I know you'd look good in that apron Stephen, so I think you're right on track there! I can't believe how much pepper that cannon puts out. It's truly a sight to experience. I think I'm going to pick up a brisket over the holidays for the offset smoker and just go coarse ground pepper and salt from the pepper and salt cannons. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Thanks for the comment Ryan! I have charcoal grills down for a future video, but tell me some of the models you're considering so I can make sure i'm reviewing the ones that you're looking into. There's so many options from kettles to santa maria to open fire racks, so tell me more about what you're interested in and looking to do with them, and I'll see what we can do.
Love it! I love my solo stove bonfire I have a Yukon too but the bonfire is all you need. I second the signals I have had mine for almost 2 years now and it is awsome outside on the grill or smoker as well as in by the oven. The insta read on the thermapen one is unmatched. Kindle cracker is great though I prefer a fiskas splitting ax. One request is can we get you to do a pizza oven comparison. Solostove just dropped the pi fire and will be releasing a PI 16 sometime next year. I see you use the torch have you done a comparison? Would love to see where the rocketfire torch falls on your list
Thanks for watching Michael! We're glad you love it. We put a lot of work into the videos we publish, and it's good to hear that they're liked. Appreciate you taking the time to comment!
@@TheBarbecueLab Commercial tweaked my interest and made me think of you. Just curious to see how a fire pit in that small of package will work out. Also how well it burns pellets
Well, you covered the grills that I am most interested in -- Recteq and Grilla. I live about five miles from Reteq HQ, and own a Bulls-Eye. The Grilla Alpha Smoke controller is also intriguing, and making this next purchase a little more difficult. A below comment about Veteran's BBQ sauce was a reminder -- it was talked about at the Recteq April Academy, by one of the attendees.
How did you like the Recteq April Academy? I'm not local to their events, but I watch their social walkthroughs all the time and wonder what it's like in person.
For me it really comes down to how many people you want around the fire and how much wood you'd like to burn each time. I think the Bonfire is great for 4-5 people. Anything over 5 people, I'd prefer the Yukon. The Yukon does burn twice the wood of the bonfire if not three times the amount, so the tradeoff for going with the larger Yukon is you'll need more fuel. If you have unlimited fuel from a forest of fallen trees, the Yukon will be amazing for you. If you're buying wood from the local gas station in bundles for $9, the Yukon is a hungry beast and will be expensive to run. Best wishes on your decision!
FYI truff products have a very pungent taste of truffle. I personally hate them and I bought it thinking it’d be so good. So keep that In mind. Truffles, especially black truffles are very pungent
That's good to hear your feedback Zeplin. You never know what you're going to like unless you try, so that's a good point to make. I've used truffle infused oil quite a bit in cooking as well as had dishes with truffle in them, so maybe that's why it didn't hit me as hard. I had some on my burrito at lunch that Melissa made, and I really enjoyed it, but everyone has their own tastes for sure. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
@@TheBarbecueLab for sure! I bought it totally separately for this video so nothing against your recommendations since we all have diff taste buds, but just a heads up for everyone else. Im getting a pellet grill monday so im super excited to use it! have been loving my good ol webber kettle for a long while now. Excited to break in the new one
Really appreciate this comment. I personally can't stand the taste or smell of truffle, but felt like maybe it wasn't so prominent since it is quite popular.
All good ideas, and I'd be happy to help by buying a gift using the links. PROBLEM, to buy ThermaPen one MUST use Paypal or Google Pay, not a normal SecurePay partner with Credit Cards. Sorry, the available options to pay don't meet my requirements for security and/or business ethics. Your content is pretty solid.
That Pepper Cannon priced at $200 should be a crime.
6:25 The Solo Stove Bonfire is amazing! 🔥👈😎👍✨

Should be called "my favorite advertisers 2022"
This is the best Grilling Gifts video out there - really well thought out. I want literally everything you brought up.

I'll have to check them out @boarworkstoday - I do love a good sauce and trying new things is pretty much my job, lol.
Excellent guide to buy best products!!!
Happy to have met you man. Great quality and recommendations. Thanks. Cheers. 👍
Thanks, you too. Have a great weekend!
Hubby greatly enjoys grilling. Has multiple grills. Even a indoor Kenyon.
I've never heard of an indoor Kenyon. I'll have to look that up.
Wow David, I really enjoyed this video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching Keith!

The Parks and Rec reference (Treat Yo Self!) did it for me. If it’s good enough for Donna and Tom, it’s good enough for me!
I do love me some Donna and Tom. I think we're going to have to put that series up next again in our evening Nexflix and chill.
Would love to see a video of the best mid size/large charcoal grills.
Or could you recommend any? Keep those 🔥 videos coming.

Great list! I sure know I would love that pepper cannon but $200 is a shocking price. $400 for salt and pepper cannon. Christ
Love it!

Pepper Cannon might be the greatest name ever.
I had to laugh. I'm watching the Hoosiers on tv and as I'm watching your video a truff commercial came on tv. Keep up the good work
Man, Indiana + Truff + my video?! It's like you're in the zone my friend!
Hate to be a fan boy, but man I really love this channel! Thanks for the content. Keep it coming!

Have you got your hands on the new tabletop solo? Video coming?
Haven’t gotten hands on with that model, but we’ll let you know when we do!

Right?! So much great outdoor grilling items for shopping lists this year. Thanks for watching, and all the best!
Solo stove bonfire over the solo stove Yukon? Why? I'm trying to decide between the two.

I just sent this to my wife lol
