- This video will guide you thru the process of programming a GM with an Autel. I go over what tools are required. Then I walk you thru the entire process, step by step live as I program the car (only speed up when programming to save time). If you need any of the equipment I mentioned the links are below. Matt, why can't we use the Autel jbox with the Autel tablet? As I'm typing this question, I'm guessing because it is not windows based and is an Android operating system. Is that correct?
ScannerDanner that is correct Paul, no manufacture supports android or anything else besides windows so far.

That is correct. All OEMs require windows operating system (7 or 10 not all have approved 10). For J2534 programming. Now the factory tool stuff can get interesting on what you Program with.

I didn't realise you'd bought an Autel Paul? Or am I just assuming incorrectly? I was also thinking you could go in through the browser but getting the downloads to open might be an issue with Android?
I jus want to ask if there's an autel that can program tcm of audi and also have odis programming tool? Kindly respond badly needed it?
for us do it yourselfer,s that cant afford a nice autel system and are getting ready to rebuild the pressure solenoids in my daughters 2007 acadia 6T75 TRANSAXLE Can i take it to my local auto parts store and have the codes cleared and have the tcm relearned and the shift parameters reset
No, the auto parts store can not perform this task. Many automotive shops can. Some schedule it with a mobile person like me to do the job.

The fact the cords are removable is why I like it! Being mobile I am awful hard on cords. I ruined one 70amp one because I broke the cables. It did take 3 years though.
Wow, That is one cool battery maintainer, and 100 amp output to boot. I bought a no frills IOTA DLS-90 with some custom 12ft cables for less than $300. No digital displays ,It works well but it is pretty much vulnerable to the elements used as it comes and the power cord is just made too short.
I use the same IOTA, just wired in a longer, thicker power cord and cut up a pair if 20 foot 4 gauge jumper cables.
@@ranchorelaxo2287 ,one thing I don't like about my IOTA DLS 90 is the cable clamps always arc attaching it to the battery terminals. It seems to discharge capacitors. I have to hook up the positive one to battery first, then I touch the negative clamp to metal ground away from battery. remove it, wait for a couple seconds and touch it to ground once again and sparks again but much weaker, then I hook the negative cable to the battery clamp and then plug in the AC cord

Thanks for this video! I just purchased the autel IM608 and ppl keep asking me to do their reprogramming on replacement calve bodies etc. Unfortunately I’ve never used an aftermarket pass thru device and didn’t have a clue as to where to start. This video just shed some major light in a subject I thought I’d never learn! Very to the point and informative! S/N for a min there I thought I was listening to Keith DeFazio!😂

When it comes to where the program lists the J-box choices does GM actually now list the Autel Maxi Flash (Pro/ Elite)J boxes as options or was field manually typed in by you at an earlier date to display all the J boxes you currently possess ?
It only shows j2534 device that the driver is installed. I have a few that I don’t have installed on that partition and it doesn’t show them.
Does this work with aftermarket tuning files or only oem?
Would a regular smart charger work? What about jumper cables from a running vehicle. Just wondering options. Those things are $600.

hello matt. where are you located? I will like to go to your shop and do my car. I have the same car but I can't get to reprogramed the tcm. ir doesn't let me. it comes as x red mark not the green check mark. It only programmed the ecu. do you know what can be the problem?

Install the driver. It came on a CD or you can login to autel, then download and install it.

I'm confused... You installed windows on your Autel? I've already tried using SPS2 from a laptop, and it can't even read the VIN on a 22 Tahoe, and programming fails every time with a communication error. Can I just use Autel's software and not SPS2, since the Autel can read the VIN and view live data?

Nice video. Have a question on newer vehicles. 2017 Acadia with push button on and start. Is there anything extra needed to keep vehicle on since it has no key and wants to go in sleep mode after a while or is it a non issue during reflash
Ezkwip Equipment Videos from my experience when IGN is on(engine off) & the car is connected to a jbox it stays alive while programming.
Ezkwip Equipment Videos some of the newer one you need to hold the button till the green light comes on. There is two lights on these styles on the push button. Take holding the button for 30 seconds

I have the autel scanner with j2534. Does it technically replace a tech2 if i use it the way you used it in the video? I was thinking of getting a tech2 so i can flash gm modules.
Automotive Circuit Solutions nothing replaces an original factory tool.
Your battery voltage is NOT 12v it's falsely showing 12v cuz the draw on the battery from all the modules etc causing a voltage sag. It's an artificial voltage. Turn stuff off and it will go back to the 12.5v or whatever the actual voltage is.
Hopefully you can help me. I am trying to program vis ACDELCOSPS and in the process it is unable to connect to my J2535 Autel tool. It says device is not there. When I connect my Autel scanner to it via bluetooth, I can communicate with the vehicle. When I disable the bluetooth to disconnect the scanner, and then use the USB cable to connect it to my laptop, I get the signal from Windws stating my Autel device is ready, but in SPS programing, it says it cant communicate with the Autel 2535 device. Thoughts? Is there an additional driver I need to download for the device?
USB Cable on the Autel is too stiff in my opinion I use a nice Silicon Printer Cable that flexes much easier.

My Autel J2534 won't communicate with GM sps. Connects to the laptop and MaxiPC Suite but doesn't communicate with GM programming software. Please help.

Does programing a ECU also apply to TCU’s? I got a error code on my 2000 vw beetle of a missing signal from the TCU. I just bought a used TCU with matching numbers. Does the TCU need to be programmed for any reason?

Is this flashing the vin to the new tcm? I just did the same thing to a 08 chevy malibu 3.6 changed valve body and tehcm and reprogrammed. But it doesn't not start or crank and prndl doesn't light up as if any gear is in place. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. But if I connect my old tcm it start up quick.

If you are using an Autel J-box, or some other budget friendly brand that is not on some OE approved Validated J box list and run into any sort of problem that require GM tech support assistance ,will they basically say you are on your own because the J-box you are using is not listed as a Validated J box.?
What p@sses me off with this is the need to run old Windows 7 laptop and needs to be a Pro Version . What's wrong with Home version with Team Viewer?
Then these companies that care so much about car security and require LSID to program a keys now , expect you to run Malware susceptible older versions of Internet Explorer, and Java on our laptop to program their Sh@t..
The lower versions of Windows has less drivers etc. So more than likely the Pro version has components that don't exist in the lower versions. Just kinda how Windows is set up

Mostly GM will try to self recover.

We just tried 10/30/2019, it looks like GM is no longer supporting this, the only device it will let us select is a Tech2. The maxi flash isn't on the list and even the devices on the list dont work, it says "please contact the device manufacturer for technical support".
Keith Schulz nope it still works you need to download the j2534 wrapper and it will later on allow you to select a j2534 device

Hi! Im from Philippines. I hope you can help me. I’ve been trying to purchase service from acdelco tds but it always say “error 500”. I’ve emailed acdelco so far no reply. And I notice that it only accept US address. So instead I used my aunts address in US and borrowed her credit card issued in US and still I get the “error 500” after I input the card number etc and hit buy button. I have a 2007 Escalade that I need to program. And I to purchase the vehicle programming software from acdelco tds. I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. And by the way, awesome video!
