    I just wanted to comment to say a few things. A couple of years ago I sent you some pretty rude messages after seeing your tiktok posts. I was frustrated by the content in ways in which you explain here. I can't tell you how needed and important this video is. You should be so proud of yourself and I apologize for my past self. I could have tried to explain my frustration instead of taking out my emotions in an unhelpful way (my messages were never agressive or so offside btw, but they were calling you out in a blunt and rude way).

      Wow this is the first time I've seen someone apologize for potentially hurtful comments on social media. It shows a lot of wisdom and humility that you were able to do this. I'm sure millie has no hard feelings. 🫶🫶🫶

    What is even scarier is certain people becoming ‘recovery coaches’ mere months/weeks after beginning recovery, with little to no training. This could turn out to be seriously detrimental!

    unicorn syndrome is sooooo real. It's talked about somewhat often but its incredibly hard to get over, but you (general) do not need to get over it to start recovery. Thanks so much for another great video! Lemme tell you, your content is what helped me find the courage to recover, even when I felt like a unicorn at the beginning.

    Omg that nature valley bar and black coffee gave me a mega flashback ahaha. I had that exact thing for "breakfast" and it barely touched the sides but tasted like the most heavenly thing on the planet because I was starving 🙄

    I am so pleased that I decided to focus on recovery while doing my level two counselling course this past year. I start level three in September and I don’t know if I would be able to do it if I still had fear foods and still restricted and exercised compulsively. I’m not quite recovered yet, but it is a big improvement on last year. I think one big lesson I’ve learned in recovery is that the comments and social media that you expose yourself to, needs to be as wholesome as the food you consume when listening to your cues and your cravings. I didn’t go all in in my recovery and don’t plan to start doing so now that I’m almost recovered because it seemed like too big a jump from where I started. I love that I can now detect when the toddler, the teenager or the adult in me is talking.

    MILLY!!!!! Thank you so much for this video. Your honesty, humility and willingness to discuss your regret at posting quasi-recovery videos is truly couragous. What you said about creators transitioning from Anorexia to orthorexia needs to be called out and I imagine some people will send hate for this, but you are speaking the truth. Thank you for your bravery and willingness to call it as it is. You are such an inspiration.

    Hi milly I’ve recently started recovery and I love love love your videos on RUclips it’s helped me so much watching what you’ve learned through out recovery it’s truly inspirational and so are you I hope you don’t take this in any way other than that you deserve kindness and love even in the beginning in your recovery.. I watched your reaction videos and knowing how difficult it is to find some self mercy with ed especially it breaks my heart when the commentary you have for your past self is so critical because when I watch what you see when you watch your past video is pure strength and true recovery. You have come so far and aspire me to keep going and challenge myself I just truly feel genuine empathy towards your past and current self because you’ve accomplished so much growth and even have inspired me to try harder and you deserve praise from day one even on bad days or on the days you feel you didn’t eat enough food or not trying hard enough and talk down on yourself. You have come so far and without those days of baby steps you wouldn’t be able to appreciate your incredible process I just want to you to know I personally find every step of your recovery as strength every step of the way. I hope you hear me out and not misinterpret my intentions I really do appreciate your help your content you are an incredible person and I hope you are doing well happy and healthier every single day because you deserve it❤️‍🩹

    I think it's wonderful you pushed through and embraced the opportunity to be a therapist and that it has benefited you and you're helping others too if anything I think you going through your struggles makes it great you help others as you have experienced a range of feelings and emotions they probably have too 💖

    I’m training to be a therapist at the moment (start level three counselling theory in September), and on the course description it states that you have to be in a mentally stable place to do the course. Starting level two last year, I said to myself that I’m going to put my all into recovery this year so that I’m more recovered by September 2023. I’m not there yet, but I don’t restrict or do compulsive exercise anymore and I don’t have any fear foods. I’ve never gone all-in in recovery. I also think that part of recovery is learning how to consume things that are pro recovery and pro life, yes food is important but you won’t help yourself to rewire your brain if you’re purposefully triggering yourself.

    I'm also going to start working as a therapist in September,
    were you ever worried that one of your patients would find out you were also struggling nd sharing it publically online?
    and did you receive any rules around social media and sharing your private life online from the service you worked for?
    thank you for sharing you really inspire me!

      ahh best of luck! is this in the uk? 🫶🏻 i do 99% of my work online and over the phone so i don’t worry too much, and milly isn’t my legal name (🤫). i have very clear boundaries between work and social media and whilst ofc my accounts are about mental health, i try to keep it separate from the advice i give in my actual work (and ofc i don’t work with Eds) 🫶🏻 i’m gonna talk more about my job in the future and how i got into it 🥰

    Sort of unrelated but as someone who is looking into becoming a therapist, how many years of school did you take to get your job, and was it stressful? I am too recovering from an ed, and one thing motivating me to is my dream of becoming a therapist, and helping others.
    Also, I love your videos, especially these ones where you react to your older self. They are so helpful, thank you🩷

    • @millyisliving
      @millyisliving  Год назад +1

      it was stressful i won’t lie! i would definitely get to a place of mental wellness and have a good support system around you before applying 🤍 if you are uk based i have a video about this planned but look for assistant psychologist roles or do a psychology degree with a placement year for experience 🫶🏻 once you’re in with a bit of experience, lots of doors open! i have my masters in clinical psychology which is how i got to my job 🥰

    my PROBLEM is that i'm here to say "haha, i win." this is pathetic!! this is my problem. i don't think i'm adequate at all unless i'm better than anyone else, at EVERYTHING. if i fail at anything, i break down, i feel like a loser. i don't know why, i'm trying to figure it out, but i CAN'T while there's a butter sandwich staring at me across the room!!!!

    • @millyisliving
      @millyisliving  Год назад +1

      i didn’t have a mic before and fixing the audio was taking so long for each video 😭 the mic audio is better, but it was my first time using it so i didn’t know how sensitive it was to “p” sounds and also when i swapped it between my hands. now i know, i will try and get it better moving forward 🫣 i used it a bit when i was travelling too but haven’t listened back to any of those clips so fingers crossed they are ok!
