Is there any case that the LMetal will start dripping after the temperature will rise? Im afraid that it might slowly drip down, wetting the circuit board and in the end damaging it! Im interested to know what u think over this.

what kind of thermal paste would you advise I should use for the used stock GPU HD5750 for my 27" mid2010iMac?

Hello Sr. and thanks for this nice educational video.
Could it be possible to know how much different you gain with liquid metal vs conventional thermal pastes ?
    Have a nice day.
Also forget...What about the little dissipators of the graphic card, you didnt replaced them... Thanks

Just started looking for LM paste for my imac and they say that it corrodes aluminium so not sure if putting it on the processor is smart move

I rebuilt mine a couple of years ago. I am running Linux Kubuntu on mine. 32 bit version. Put in an SSD. It loves it 😊

      Hey, for the iMac 12,2 / EMC 2429 (Mid 2011) you can use a Core i7 2600 3,4 GHz...

no you cant. they have different powersupplies. in the i5 models are S cores mounted which need less power!

Some of the problems of overheating are due to the heatsink.

You did it the wrong way. For optimal thermal conductivity you have to add a thin layer on both cpu and heatsink

You didn't clean the GPU chips properly, just added barely more paste on top of dried paste. You talked about the fan speed and temps being low, but of course they're going to be low on the desktop with no programs running! Run a GPU stress test, play a 3D game for 20-30 minutes, THEN let us know what the temps are! LOL.

wow talk about untidy if he uncluttered that bench he'd have more space????? why would you ask him to repair your iMac putting delicate part on top of other part mmmmmmm

When you are busy, it doesn't take long to have a messy bench. I'm positive no customer insists on inspecting his work space before he works on their crummy iMac. Oh, wait........
