I always remember the time they used Joel's male prostitute, Toshi as the New Year's Eve Ball and dropped him from the ceiling on top of Joel laying in a bed.
When he moved to L.A. he lost a lot of writers and performers, some stayed on a little bit, but the best of them left within a couple of years. The Tonight Show slot didn't give them the kind of leeway to do weirder and dirtier humor the Late Night slot did either, and the show never recovered from that. Conan himself couldn't carry the old format alone. He can carry a show, just not the same format that late Night had.
I was looking forever for coked-up werewolf -- FINALLY! I need more of him; he never gets old.
What a classic for a Conan fan.
Comedic legend, and former intern for Conan’s associate producer Jordan Schlansky, Mike Birbiglia in the audience at the :14 mark.
