He was an absolute God to me growing up. Songs in the Key of Life was just unreal. I'd get home from school, go round my mates house and we'd all listen to it night after night. Great times. Total genius.

I agree halleck3, but just to point out. Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, The Rolling Stones, Ray Davies (founder of The Kinks). That's just 4 quick names, all of whom have as you say, "rocked through 4 different decades." Interesting that they all (Stevie included) started out in the 1960's. Coincidence? I don't think so.
David Peel If you started in the 80's you wouldn't have had a chance to get through 4 decades yet! :) As a comparison though, Duke Ellington was playing between 1914 and 1974 - 60 years! Even Stevie has a little way to go to beat that...

Lol I thought I was the only one.
I first heard this on its release in 1976, went out the following day and got the wonderful album " songs in the key of life" still have my copy,however it's has suffered with over playing, thank god for digital music so it sounds as crisp and fresh as that first day. Glad it's still enjoyed today by much younger audience, this is real music and a fantastic role model for us all. Thank you Stevie for you genius.

Genius is a term banded about fairly loosely these days but it must surely apply to Stevie Wonder .He's been my favourite artist since the 70's and this has been my favourite song . Its like a drug , whenever I play it it gives me a rush like the best cocaine . If there's such a thing as THE perfect album ,'songs in the key of life' must be it . Long live Stevie Wonder .
