You have to understand the 27nd, the versatility with switches allows to sound like the re20 or it's own sound for dull sources. Sensitivity it's something you'll need also and the ND magnet will allow that.
@@TopblokeGolf Not if your interface can provide a good amount of clean gain. It's easier to drive than the RE20, which itself is easier to drive than the SM7B. You should also be using it properly, which means having it close to your mouth, not far away.
This is the best sound demo I've listened to of these three mics. I can very easily hear the tone of each mic due to how you spoke into them so closely etc. Very intense tone differences.
I'm not an expert, but I think it's because of the high end in the frequency response, and that makes it sound more natural than any other dynamic microphone, which is really good for any voice over artist or any voice actor, but if we are talking about podcasting, I can agree that the 27ND isn't the best or even better than any other electro voice microphones.
Holy fuck the RE27N/D in the US is the same price as the RE20 in my country. The RE27 is 750 euros (830 USD) and the RE20 550 euros (610 USD) (including tax.) The RE320 priced the same. Super odd. Out of the box, I feel like the RE27 was the best with the high contour turned on. But for me I think the RE20 would be a better fit. Especially like you said regarding a blank canvas. Great comparison!
Wait, why the fuck is it so expensive by you? I just got the RE-20 myself since it's such an iconic mic, but I paid the $450 price. Expensive, but not crazy high like where you're from.
@@Me04120 Maybe because they are largely assembled in the US which makes importing them in Europe more expensive? I am not sure. Other mic companies including those who assemble their mics in the US do not have such a huge spike in their price.
Just bought the RE-20 myself - for 650 Euro (699 USD) in Norway. Just came across the RE-27 and checked: 1485 Euro (1598 USD). Yup, can forget about sending the RE-20 back and order RE-27 instead xD
What's the best pre amp or configuration for the RE20? i have a Rodecaster but the sound isn't good enough, tried with a cloudlifter, dbx268 but still not getting a clear sound
If it's that hard for you to make a decision take the re20 because it won't get a novice in trouble like the re27nd could if you don't know what you are doing. My 2 cents for no cents!
RE20 just sounds best. The RE320 is close enough and it should be easy enough to notch out that slight high frequency, plus it’s a $100 less.

I agree. If budget is a concern, you can't go wrong with the EV320.
The cuts and the way he stares at the camera so intently are freaking me out.

specially the re27 is also a great mic for singing....for example for homerecording, demos, live
....for me the perfect mic..
thanks for the vid man, already bought the RE320 and i love it
Do you need a cloud lifter?

@@sixthdutch ha bought one since , works great thanks
Great vid, well done dude.

I love the difference in the 27nd. But I do hear people complaining ALOT on ALOT of videos I've seen about sibilance
I don't understand the hype of the 27nd honestly. I bought one, and I've been disappointed. I've been using my re320 and sm7b.

@@sa-k there’s just too much high end for my liking. Could never get the sound I wanted out ofnit
Adding to that, I recently got a rode broadcaster. And to me, it’s worlds better than the re27nd
re27 is pretty solid and to me is just desirable
2:16 RE27 was rather sibilant.
Yup, it's not good for podcasting
Hey buddy, Amazing video, nice one. What mic stand you are using in this vid? Ta
*THE MICROPHONES USED ARE IN THE VIDEO TITLE, JUST SEE*
CHIBI DARK FF he said which mic “stand”... not the mics themselves... :)
What are the mic stand?

RE 20 is the best
its not really versatile tho.

RE20, no contest.
RE320 HAS THE RE20 BODY AND THE RE27 ELEMENT SEE ELECTROVOICE
RE 320 is the best sounding in this demonstration. Some sibilance, but has a beautiful low end

I am undecided to take re27 or re20 I would really like to know your professional opinion???pls help to choose

RE 20 you can't go wrong.....
Popping and sibilants is what I heard
Don't know what you did in post but you managed to make them all sound meh.
👀
re20 the better the no so much siblings
Sibilance... not siblings lol.
You’re correct. The RE20’s siblings just don’t compare, and they’re very jealous.
Bro you have a great channel let’s collab and get them subs up!
