The way Eric asked questions surrounding the accident without pushing Ashley too much then gently and smoothly eased back into lighter conversation was like watching a masterclass on interviews. He is so skilled at what he does. Very enjoyable interview. 👏🏽

@@famoustyl4036 It's hard to explain. Unfortunately Ladies' Code got into an car accident in 2014 and two members passed away due to injuries. Search up for more about it if you're not sensitive with this topic.

well not to be a party pooper but she was under a contract. if she had left the company, she wouldve had to not only repay her company debt she accured as a trainee, but also the contract breach fee. xd

When Ashley said that Sojung and Zuny had it way worse than her in terms of the accident and stuff, I got sad cause she almost downgraded her pain in a way that, like, an older sibling does. Like, how older siblings go and say "no, they need more help than me, I'm okay". Cause imagine her being a leader of this group and having this responsibility of taking care of everyone and making sure everyone's okay and something like that happens, even if it's not your fault at all; I can't even begin to imagine what she went through. ❤️

Can I say that Eric always seems to genuinely care for the people he has over. He respects their privacy and has a way of showing his appreciation for their talents or as a person that feels real

I feel like that car crash was one of the major turning points in Kpop history. No one who was following Kpop during that era will forget how they felt when it happened.
I remember that it really opened my eyes that idols were also living human beings. I was still 15 at the time so Kpop was like a fantasy escape from reality.
Same I was 14 and super into K-pop I saw a few of their videos, they were super cute and talented, it was gut wrenching even being in the outside, cannot imagine her pain 😔
Turning point how? What changed after?
@@janvdb9258 it's a personal turning point... What I take from this, is how idols have restrictions/protections from certain things that don't actually protect them. You go so long thinking that they are untouchable, and then a tragedy happens or you realise how dark life is for them under the idol image they front.

Really great to see so many independent folks like Ashley and Eric still being successful so others know that music and performing don't end and begin with companies alone. Thanks for your insight!

I think Ladies Code is one of the most underrated groups even though they aren’t as active anymore. Their music, voice colors, and relationships within the group are so good and strong. I wish Ladies Code and their music could get more recognition. Especially with the hardships they’ve faced as a group and a makeshift family, they really deserve the world.

Ashley is really a mentally strong person, past anyone I've ever met as well as the other girls of course. Even though the memory and experience will be forever painful, I'm so glad she's able to remember the happy moments they all had together and let that shine past
Ashley, you just broke my heart.. hahahha I listened to LC since they announced their debut, but I became Lavely because of So Wonderful... xD It's a great song. And of course, I just Love Bad Girl even today, is a timeless song. Then... Feedback brought me a lot of happiness and great memories, so I hope you continue with music, 'cause the experience of art on people is amazing, I guess is such a bigger thing to you
I lost a friend in a car accident years ago. It is still so so hard to talk about. Thank you to Ladies Code for giving me comfort and strength even during extremely tough times. And a huge thank you to Eric and Dive Studios for these podcasts and help. You are not alone.

I started following ashley this year, man how much have I missed out...
I discovered LC in late 2013 and always loved their retro disco sound. and when Galaxy came out I was blown away by how emotionally stark and real that and its companion songs are.
always adored Ash even back in the day but now it is even more precious that she and Zuny and Sojung are doing great and living life to their fullest. and Ash doing her RUclips vlogs and radio gigs helps us international/English-speaking fans feel connected to the kpop world 😍

I felt like ROSÉ was GOD sent to Ashley. It's so amazing how GOD connects people. Glad that they actually met at a church and just in time when Ashley needs to talk to a friend and she found a new one.
