John Driskell Hopkins ("Hop") of Zac Brown Band has recently been diagnosed with ALS disease. Currently, a severe deficit exists in funding which is needed to identify and understand the cellular mechanisms and risk factors of ALS. Hop On A Cure aims to lower this deficit by funding research that will make ALS a thing of the past.Hop On A Cure is committed to supporting research to prevent, reverse, and cure ALS while raising awareness, building a compassionate community, and unleashing the healing power of hope.
ALS is a neurological disease that affects the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement (the muscles we have conscious control over). The disease is progressive, meaning the symptoms get worse over time. Individuals affected lose their strength and the ability to control those voluntary muscle movements which include speaking, eating, mobility, and even breathing. Although the disease can strike at any age, symptoms most commonly develop between the ages of 55 and 75. For unknown reasons, men are more likely than women to develop ALS. The life expectancy of those affected is usually 3 to 5 years from when the symptoms first appear. However, about 10 percent of people with ALS survive for 10 or more years.
There is no cure for ALS and no effective treatment to halt or reverse the progression of the disease. Currently, a severe deficit exists in this funding which is needed to identify and understand the cellular mechanisms and risk factors of ALS. By understanding the mechanisms that occur on a cellular level with ALS, scientists can identify exactly what is causing the motor neurons to degenerate which dictates the approach used in developing effective treatments. In order to achieve these goals, and put an end to ALS, there is a great need for funding and continued research. Hop On A Cure aims to lower this deficit by funding research that will make ALS a thing of the past.

Yep! Here from OZ🇦🇺 Gold Coast Queensland April 2023. Found the Zac band just as the stupidity hit in 2020 and found myself homeless. Totally enjoy the songs and sounds. Sing my heart out in the car with the window down, get a lot of strange looks, but hey! I’m enjoying the music😃🎵🎶🎸. Thanks everyone.

All my childhood songs thank you guys lots of great memories from these songs days on the lake in Montana you guys would play 😂 and I remember always loving the songs that were on, also “free” is another of my favorites you guys are just a great band👏.
They are to music what Game of thrones and Yellowstone are to TV. There simply isn't any better sound then Zac Brown Band. Some day I'll travel to America and listen to those guys live. It will be a thing to remember.. Thank you for your music. ❤

I remember when my mom locked me and my sister and brother in the closet and was shooting though the door with a 22 rifle and I held them back in the corner as I stood in the way of the bullets we made it out did what I had to do as the oldest although I was only 13 at the time it still is fresh on my mind this song help me let go of all the bad I love u brother and I'm so proud of u 💙🤜🤛💪

57:46 Goddamn is this an amazing version. Their version of free/into the mystic is amazing too. I love these guys. Such a deep talent roster. I remember the first time I heard anything by ZBB was chicken fried at a house party in Northern Ontario Canada. Everyone in the room started singing along, every word, even the "salute the stars and stripes" bit. I was the only one in the room who didn't know the words but I was hooked. Thank you for the music.
Great, great band! I had tickets to see them in Houston September 2017, but my house flooded from Hurricane Harvey. Could not go but maybe someday. My favorite band.

Heard them first then I watched this, WOW WHAT A GROUP OF MUSICIANS , really good harmonizing!! (I like the music but the words to first song got me - you just need one lady & words of being grateful would round out the song) nice energy IN THIS WELL-SKILLED GROUP., ZAC YOUR ACOUSTIC GUITAR IS SO SWEET SOUNDING LIKE YOUR LEAD VOICE.
