Thank you. Clear and articulate presentation. Very helpful as I just inherited a DR All Terrain Mower in need of new belts.
@Mike Winchester you are very welcome. I am so glad you found it useful. I have a feeling you will enjoy the DR as much as I have. Amazing machine. I used it today. Still going strong. ~Mr. C.
Thank you
Very helpful!
sergeisvet1924 glad it was helpful. Happy wrenching! ~Mr. C.
Thanks for the info. While you're under there replace the stretched-out springs. The chain tensioner likely needs to be cleaned up and lubed with a dry lube, and its spring replaced. Those tires & tubes are dead. The dog-clutch that switches between 1-wheel drive and 2-wheel drive (the AT1 does not have a differential) could be cleaned & dry-lubed, also the chain. I'm sure there is more that needs some TLC.
What is the size of the deck belt. I have the same unit as in the video. I got a 57" belt, but want to make sure it's the right size before I take off the old one.
@mickeyandlucy that is great info. I love this machine. It is an animal. Thanks for sharing! ~Mr. C.
@aa1221aa1 I used this belt when I replaced it. I like the kevlar version. I believe it holds up better.

There is a two inch bolt with a cap screw on my model. It is on the spindle of the blade housing. If you remove it you can slide the blade housing back to allow for easier installation of the belt.
@penn hudson thanks for the tip. Sounds like a nice way to get the belt on easier. ~Mr. C.
Question. I bought a 5/8x56 belt as the manual said but it's way too loose?
Any way to tighten it up? My blades barely run
@jsmims0026 it sounds like another issue is going on. The tensioner should be able to keep it tight if that is the size the book calls out. Is the spring attached to your tensioner pulley? Is the belt on the correct side of the pulley? Is the deck attached to the pivot shaft properly? Just trying to get to the bottom of it. Thanks for watching and asking. ~Mr. C.
I just bought the identical DR Trimmer as yours. I bought it in two pieces, handle bar/engine unit and deck unit. I've slipped the deck into engine unit. My question is: What retains the deck in the engine unit? The two pieces are assembled now, but it looks like my deck wants to slide on the deck tube it mounts to. Is there a pin that I'm missing? Thank you!
@mjlogan2001 I will need to take a look and get a better idea of how it mounts up. I have had the deck off a couple of times but that was years ago. I will make a short video of what mine looks like and how the deck stays attached in a couple of days. I will post a reply on this comment with a link. You could also find it in the shorts tab in the channel. Thanks for watching and asking. ~Mr. C.
Thank you my friend!!!!
@mjlogan2001 I made this quick video to show how the deck is attached. Let me know if you need more information. ~Mr. C.

How can I tell what year it is
@user-tg3df3vi2p if you can find the serial number on the machine make a quick call to DR and they would be able to tell you. I have called a few times and have received excellent service. The number on mine is located near the controls on the handles. Excellent question! Thanks for watching. ~Mr. C.
