What's truly impressive is that when Jason composed and recorded his parts, he was already losing motor functions due to his ALS, but he managed to soldier on and record such a fantastic album.

This song from a guitar perspective never gets old
Hands down the best cover I've seen of this song. Others manage to get the technical part down (which is a feat in itself), but you have that sort of "looseness" in your fretting hand, for lack of a better word, and you manage to absolutely nail the groove, which is so essential to this song. One of the things I have always found so impressive with Jason, is his ability to be the blazing neo classical shredder AND such a groovy song-oriented player with DLR. Really well done man. Even the shirt is spot on lol.

Haven't looked up for this song or any covers in years and you nailed it with the comment. Always loved the song because as technical as it guitar wise, is not at all about technique. Becker played it like its a threechord anthem, and this guy is the only one I've seen it play that chill

Jason was the beat period he might not have the catalog like EVH or Yngwie. But his playing phrasing technique was like EVH and Yngwie and Jason personal DNA put in a blender !!!! Jason we love you and are

I was an aspiring drummer when my dad brought home some cds for me to practice along to…this was in the half off bin, and tho I was young , I was familiar with DLr from Van Halen …but I had no clue about this album. Turned out to be one of my faves and I instantly went BACK to playing guitar after hearing this solo. Hahahaha

I think the end of the solo is sweeps and not tapping, but I suck at sweeps and I'm glad you demonstrated tapping is viable.
