My family is from Cedar Key. My Grandpa and Grandma are both laid to rest there at Shilo Cemetery. I love that little place. Thanks for sharing your flight with us.
The first time I went to Cedar Key, was in a 172. At that time there was a gentleman who drove a station wagon. When I announced my call sign, I asked for traffic advisory. He came back with RW 5, and then asked if I'd be needing a taxi. He took me into town for breakfast,. I asked him how much I owed him, he said "don't worry about it, I'll catch you on the way back. Once I got back, I asked again "how much do I owe you?" His response was "whatever". Very friendly place. I gave him $30. Short runway though. One should be somewhat experienced in short crosswind runways for takeoffs and landings. Good vid.
Hi Guys...really kool video...I often fly in to Cedar Key, ... your Cardinal looks great, I miss my 76 177B, fly a 172M now....but always loved the 177's thanks for the post....
I should be one of The Real Housewives of Cedar Key...Hahaha! I just saw an article mentioning Cedar Key as a cool airport to fly to. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm in FL!
Judy needs her own RUclips channel... (maybe she has one?). I think every YT av8r I follow has landed at Cedar Key and filmed it. Her channel could be “RUclips-Uber”
Been there in 1972 or 1973. We got there and they were having there Festival. I think it was a CRAB Festival. QUESTION: Why do you pull back the MIXTURE knob a little after you start the engine and then puch it back in before take off???
I have transition lenses so when I land I need to take them off so I get a really good view on the depth perception if I leave them on I’m always 3 to 5 feet high and I have a rough landing. Thanks for watching!
I'm a student pilot with a little over 20 hours of time in. I train in a few different 172's and only one has the shimmy. Why does it shimmy? To me it doesn't feel safe, but I am not experienced by nay means.
From what I understand, and I’m not a mechanic, is that the nose wheel shimmy is just loose if you put that pressure on the oak while you’re taxing it takes the pressure off and the semi goes away also when you take off I just tap the rudderpedal a little bit and the shimmy goes away as well and the shimmy only stays after I rotate till about 85 miles an hour so it doesn’t happen for that long - definitely get a mechanic to check it out I have a mechanic check mine out in - it is going to need to be replaced pretty soon

Thanks for giving us something to watch as we try to stay up for New Years. It is not as easy when you are 50+
Mark Gunnison I’m only 45 and thinking the same thing!

raider6511 keeps the plugs clean 😆
Highly recommend you install shoulder harness. Your face will smash against the panel in an accident.
HDaviator absolutely a it’s on the list !
Curious as to why you remove your glasses on landing. Enjoy your videos.

Why did you fly with the upper G5 off on this flight?
