Love your enthusiasm on the auto egg turner!😹 I have always wanted to raise chickens. Just too scared to attempt. Seeing the both of you interact with your chickens in the chicken village helps take the fear out of it. Plus this is a pretty good informative video. Not that I ever plan to hatch chicken eggs, but you never know.
Raising chickens shouldn't be scary!! Hatching eggs has its downsides because you'll end up with about half roosters and need to figure out to do with them but keeping a little flock of chickens in your back yard is easy peasy!
Please don't be scared to raise chickens! There is so much info out there and it's so rewarding to have your birds, we love our ladies and our roosters, they've become a part of the farm family! We started out ordering 12 chicks from our local co-op and now we get a new group every Spring. We learn something new everyday but they are so worth it! Blessings 🙏
Hah! Truer words were never spoken. But since we turned it on 2 months ago we ended up moving it to the opposite side of the room so it was near the pellet stove and far from those drafty windows. Had to put a plain old table to hold the lamp up. how boring.
7:35 marked..."God forbid...." no He won't, He'll just watch to see how well you do. Hope you had a great weekend with family & why aren't you raising Turkey again?
Maybe we will this spring! That's something John has been wanting to do. Just got to get him to build another house and enclosure :) Happy post thanksgiving to you!
Not sure how one that is complete trash is good for a beginner. lol. The first 2 reviews made me want to smash them to pieces if I wasted my money on them.
Excellent, this is good information to have. I'm considering hatching eggs for the first time next spring and I'll need to get an incubator. Do you know your hatch rate percentage with each one?
The only one who had a "bad" hatch rate was the middle sized one. That little round brinsea or the NR 360 is a similar size to that first one but it has auto egg turners and lots of people use that one with great success. I think that middle one is cursed though. :) If you do get an incubator in the spring let us know and we will send you some hatching eggs to get started on :)
I'm not a normal human being, and my house doesn't have normal temperatures since I heat with a wood stove, so what would be the best incubator for that situation.
Can totally relate to that! The gfq holds temp than any other smaller plastic incubator. That was the biggest problem we had with the two small round ones the big fluctuation in temperate in the house those small incubators couldn't keep their temps stable
@@OldReddingFarm i know a couple of people who have had same results. Tractor supply is where we got them. I have a hard time leaving the eggs alone. Checking on the development of the chicks is hard to resist.

What is your hatchability rate on each one of these incubators?
I've had various cheap popular incubators over the years, and I found that the best incubator is a broody hen
We've tried broody hen with out much luck .
So interesting and informative. Thank you John truely enjoyed the video.
Wow, for almost $200 the first incubator has Much to be desired! Thanks for this review!
Right? There are things about it that we really like (good hatch rate, american made, etc) but it is pricey for something so small.
yea big rip off. Thinking of going with the Manna Pro Harris but still dont know anything about incubators.
I appreciate your opinions, thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching!
The GQF looks like one heck of a lamp stand!

Didn't sell me much on those first couple, no aggravation is worth a lot to me 😄
Right?? This video convinced me to never get a brinsea!

Get the Mana pro and just don't forget to get your chicks out 21 days later.
All automatic even stops turning the last 3 days.
oh interesting maybe I'll check that one out. good excuse to buy another one.
